The best trailer upgrade video I've seen. Gave me a lot of good ideas on what to do with mine.
Nicely done! I like the all black look and useful upgrades. Makes this a nice multipurpose trailer.
Needs side marker lights for night time towing so it can be seen better if you get caught out after dark unless you don’t plan on using it for any kind of runs to the hardware store after all the up grades and I agree that you should put some bolts at the end of the support rails under the box to give more support
Excellent
Why not put ubolts thru the back of the box around the round rail for added rigidity?
I would replace the pin on that Coupler, with one that locks, other than that, sweet trailer ao far!
My dad bought a really similar trailer at Lowe’s to share between him, me and my brother. We use it all the time between the three of us.
I like a lot of the upgrades, but would be concerned the small surface area holding the toolbox could fatigue over time, vibration, etc. I think I'd either use the bracket you had or take a piece of flat stock to increase the hold down area. I have a similar trailer. 6x12 with 2' sides. I like the idea of the D rings and the E track. Thanks for the suggestions.
Need to add a tally sheet at the end of these type videos of actual cost vs your budget for the upgrades, also I agree, need side markers/ clearance lights for night use. This is ultimate might as well go 100%!! 😂😂
If using it on the road, first accessory should be spare tire and holder for it.
Well done!
Awesome project. Are you going to mount one of the take off wheels as a spare?
put a few screws in it & suck the bar up tight to the box.... I seen a gap ! lol ! Looks Good & will work very well !
Love your tool box mounting solution. Really looks good and will be super useful. Nice job, thanks for sharing.
Looks really good 👍🏻
You're going to need exterior lights, tie the lights into the running light since lights will be on at night anyway. LED lights could be on back side of tool box. I added mine on front rail with a switch. Since i use it for small engine business and at times pick up equipment at night. Lights up full deck, and backing up to customers residence lights up driveways as well with the black mesh tailgate. Keep going with the ideas its easier on my wallet to see how yours is turning out.
Be cautious on the swivel jack. DOT will throw a fit that the marker light on the tongue is obstructed by the jack in the stowed position. I'm going to steal your box idea. I put a spare tire on the back side of the ramp which reinforced it significantly and is not in the way.
where's the spare?
Looks very nice but you should not have used aluminum to strap to over time an uneven load in the box will wear it out. It would be a little better if you would have used shallow stainless unistrut
Nice work. I moved my tail lights on brackets I added above the current mount because they would bottom out and I broke one.
Very Clever! I’d be pretty happy if I came up with something hat solution on my own.
I would just put some kind of Matt inside that toolbox, so you're fingers. Do not hit the nuts
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
What size tires are on it
GR8 jobs thanks for some ideas….
Great Job. love your work.
I want to push my Carry-On mesh floor trailer off a cliff and buy one the these Karavan trailers!
Love the trailer and all the additions you’ve made to it. I think the toolbox was a great addition. You’ll be able to keep ratchet straps and other tools at arms reach. The only thing I can see that I would add (being a light fanatic) would be a few bullseye lights on the sides, and maybe wiring in a light for inside the toolbox, as well as maybe a a flood light facing the deck (in case you’re loading and strapping in the dark). Other than that, great job. BTW I changed my account name. Used to be Chickenjoeinc. Long time viewer of the channel.
Love the look. I need a front box for mine!!!!!
Question does the Trailer rattle like crazy with the side like that ? when driving ? just curious before I but the 6x12 version for my side by side... thanks
I have the exact same trailer and I haul my lawn mowers on it and it doesn't rattle whatsoever !!! They cinch down real tight.
I have the 6x12 for my side by side and it does not rattle. The sides pull very tight together, almost too tight.
Nice job on that trailer looks good jd.
I think someone just likes to spend money ! JS
Slow your drill speed down and/or add more pressure. Optimal cut happens when you're making curley-q's. If you're making chips, it's too fast and you're just heating up the bit and the work piece.
I have the same trailer. I tow it with my tractor when I need a mobile welding unit with a generator, gear and welder. I use it to move hay, materials for projects, etc. Then I'll hook it up to my RAV4 to pickup things id rather dolly up the ramp instead of loading into the bed of my truck. Lastly, the ramp can be easily removed so I'll be building a easy to remove rack to transport the families kayaks, SUP's, cooler, pop up and general gear for a lake day
This project looks great!!
You might still get galvanic corrosion between any bare aluminum and the galvanized bolts. Maybe some good paint or some Noalox would help.
I have those same style of stabilizer jacks on my pop-up camper that you put on the back of your trailer and I think that is a great addition. One question, however: How are you going to swing up the jack into the stow position with the license plate in the way?
They sell square tube plugs that you can install in the ends of the square aluminunuuminim. Those will help keep out insects and other debris. This little trailer is turning out real nice!
outstanding... I feel like when working outdoors, hydration is key! With that in mind,a must add on is tumbler holders for the surviving YETI/Stanley tumblers 🎉
What black stain did you use?
I was going to ask the same question
That’s why I’m here. I keep my trailer indoors but that floor is nice
Here for that as well!
Heck of a job & in my opinion well done lad! Appreciate taking us along. Your right about tool box. Very handy for bungees, ratchet straps, tarps all right there....no hunting truck, garage & no leaving "somewhere".
Nice job, gives me some good ideas!
Looks awesome. But I would cut the bolts down from the tongue jack. that are sticking out it's really going to hurt if you run into those!
Maybe you should put a list of all of the upgrades together and sell an upgrade kit with a large BTBRV logo plate. 😄 ( At the least offer the list of upgrades. )
Ramp lift assist.
Looks good. But I'd add those self tapping screws. Better to be safe than sorry.
It’s coming along nicely. I wondered how you were going to attach the toolbox, not how I thought you were to do it
Why screw with the rims when you don't even barely use the trailer anyways?
Outstanding!!!
Do the sides fold down for easy loading?
Yes sir
TYPO IN THE TITLE
Very nice looking.
I like it!
Nicely done!
