I recall a news story about Dean years ago. The TV news casters were astounded to report that after Dean had dinner with his family in SF, he began an overnight run to meet them for breakfast in Sonoma.
Dean has inspired ppl all over the world,I got into ultra running after. Reading his. Book in 2012, I'm still running at 57 in January
Met him in 2005 at a book signing. Told him I wasnt a runner, but used an indoor rower. Wanted to do 100, 000 meters, 60 miles. Never made it, but did do a marathon, 42,000 meters. Man I cleansed by soul that day.
Highly recommend reading his book ultramarathon man it’s amazing
I love Dean, his book made me go running. But these days I feel like he’s stuck in the past. Same pictures, same quotes, same stories over and over and over again.
If you can't run fast, run far.

He's the youngest 60 year old there is.
