Almost every day Lucky got a brushing. It was easy, and he loved it. It even became part of his ritual for getting up and about. And you can believe he would remind us if we forgot. And he never had any problem with shedding.

I agree. We have two beagle x harrier and if we bath them their coats lose all their oil and the next day they stink and mud clings to their fur. Bit of a brush now and then when shedding which helps promote the oil on their coat and that's it.

Bathing a beagle is unnecessary and ruins their coat. Just let them dry and all the filth falls off.
