Another good reason not to use the ring door bell, amazon can use any and all footage from your ring cam for commercials, clip shows, etc without any consent from the people in the footage.

all cameras in my house are on specific VLAN and they have NO access to internet. The firewall is flooded by the requests from these cameras... - no way - you better stay inside my LAN only my dears ;-)

I do not have a doorbell, but I do have Wyze cameras with their default OS stripped out & them just running with RTSP protocols. And they connect to a RPi4 running MotionEyeOS. Or I can call up any camera from any Google device with a screen from anywhere that has access to the internet. They're a must if you own a dog & skunks live in your area, nothing worse that dealing with a pet that been sprayed by a skunk at 3 am in the morning, you'll be spending the night washing your dog until mid morning.

I have ring, no monthly or yearly cost. Better quality than this. Plus it hard wires no charging battery.

How much is the cloud subscription on this? If someone does steal your door bell the footage is gone. Can you simply remove the SD card without having to steal the door bell? Then is all the footage gone?

  • @AsaBowes

I use SCRYPTED on raspberry pi which makes it work with HomeKit and HomeKit secure video saves needing a ring subscription

  • @FalconWing1813

Thanks for the update. Can you do a video on how to delete old videos?. Also could you connect the ring and show it in use?. Thanks

  • @TBMartin

It's a "del boy" doorbell and I mean that with respect.

  • @DualWieldingDad

Been thinking of getting rid of my blink cameras. This may be the push I needed 🤝

  • @babydolphin29

Is there a way to shut off outside ringer so my whole neighborhood doesn't know someone ringer my doorbell

  • @RobbieRobski

I'm using a reolink personally but good to see another no subscription option, and at a great price too!

  • @oldtimeengineer26

I use blink for my doors record to the home unit no cost I have 9 door cameras for two houses

  • @toucan221

excellent knowledge share and great video

  • @SlinkyD

From my experience over the past, these recording systems are horribly insecure & the apps are worse. The app can usually be replaced with anything that can do RTSP, the cameras usually need a firmware upgrade.

  • @seanriley8523

Am I missing something here Lee a security camera with easy access to the SD card?

  • @LoveDarts

Said Goolge instead of Google on the box… I mean come on…

  • @rozzer666

Looks good. Can you link cameras into this also. Id like doorbell plus 2 cameras

  • @ownmicelio

  • @yurkshirelad
