Lovely video. Yale is very similar to Oxford here in old England. In fact, I thought you were in Oxford at first. No wonder it's called New England due to the similarities to the original England :)
Hello Miss Sunny Soul: Happy Women's Day! I am glad you are doing well. This mini-break you took was amazing. I love old architecture; especially if it has a medieval quality to it. I was surprised how green the forested areas are at this time of the year. I always like when you show what food they have at a given place. Rhode Island has their own version of clam chowder, like NY & Boston. It is a clam broth based. When you visited Providence, RI; if you were anywhere near the train station - it is where they filmed most of the American version of the (2008) movie Hachi with Richard Gere & Joan Allen. It is a most excellent movie if you get to see it. Today is also Hachiko Day in Japan with the "Solemn Celebration" in his honor. His passing was 90 years ago today. He is their national symbol of loyalty. I wish you continued joy and prosperity. I always look forward to viewing from you. And yes the comparisons you shown in your last vlog; concerning Russian and American universities was most interesting. I got learn a bit about it from young European chefs I had worked with back in the 2000's. I hope you get to celebrated yourself and your friends on this special day. Take care & be well!
Great video and very enjoyable to watch. You do a great job of showing food, scenery, and interjecting history facts into the video. I hope you can visit Las Vegas and some of the incredible scenic parks in the American west.
Next time you’re in Connecticut, check out Mystic Seaport Museum, the largest maritime museum in the US - it’s a huge open air museum with historical houses, ships, and all kind of exhibits related to America’s sailing and whaling history.
That was a nice happy video with great scenery and buildings. Never knew Yale was so large! It looks a bit like Oxford but much bigger. Great you got inside to take a look around. Glad you enjoyed your break!
I know you want to spend at least a semester at Harvard. when you have time in the summer be sure to check out the "JFK Suite" at Harvard where President Kennedy spent his senior year with one of his roommates, and also be sure to do the Freedom Trail in Boston which is the site of the "Cradle of American Liberty." As always, your friends added a lot of zest to your spring break tour of New England. You picked some really good sites, enjoyed everything. I want to see more just like it. I've seen it three times already, probably see it 3 more times before the day is over.
Newport, RI is definitely for the summer - stay at a Bed and Breakfast and visit the cliff walks and beach. Also, Cape Cod and Mystic Seaport in the summer are good choices. Nice backdrop of Yale library in the background on one of the scenes. I've been up in the stacks there. Parks - A lot of the inspiration for parks infrastructure goes back to Theodore Roosevelt, who was a big outdoorsman and poured money into parks. Then during the Great Depression decades later - in the FDR New Deal the USA govt employed millions improving parks.
Yes I keep coming back to your videos. I love you so much and after a stressful day crunching boring numbers, I can sit, relax, and watch your video about your travels! ❤
Wow! Dari another wonderful video! I really enjoyed seeing Yale University! Very nice! I loved the architecture and the Beautiful park as well. Your video's are soooo interesting every...single...one! Thank you Dari and all your friends for sharing a little of your trip! It was amazing! ❤❤❤😊
Good video Dari on your Spring trip to Rhode Island and nice woods to walk and 2 university’s to visit a lot of differences to U.K. top university like Oxford and Cambridge nice place to visit l been both of them but Oxford is better because of no car policy into the city and you have to park outside the city and catch a bus to the city. Oxford is where the Mini (car) is built.
In the summer you should head up to Massachusetts/Maine and try the lobster rolls. No spices, some have mayo, but most are just bread, lobster and butter.
Connecticut also has lobster rolls. In fact, the buttered lobster roll was created in Connecticut and is traditional here. Maine and Massachusetts used to argue that rolls with mayo were better, but they're slowly coming around to the buttered version, because that's what their customers want.
As a Virginian, I believe we bear the responsibility for highly spiced seafood, especially Old Bay spice. If you can stand a bite, try soft-shell crabs in season, or blue ceabs.
I grew up in a small North Carolina town (population 1200) and I played basketball with a friend when I was 14 to college age. He came from a highly achievement oriented family. And his older brother managed to get into Harvard University Law School. He was a graduate of a small high school. in my hometown. And back in the 1930s my great uncle's wife's sister went to Yale Divinity School. She was from a neighboring North Carolina town. Yale I hear is a fantastic school with fabulous people. I could not get accepted into any of the Ivy League schools. But they are great places. Your video has been great to watch as your camera angles are quite professional. Also I have followed Natasha's adventures too over the past couple of years and she remains in Tblisi and is learning German and Georgian languages. I hope you all stay in contact with each other. Needless to say have a great time at St. Johns and enjoy America. Enjoyed the video!
I was going to visit Provident and New Haven last summer; however, we only got as far south (we went North to South) as New Hampshire before the forecast of rain and more rain made us return home. We'll probably try again this summer. I would like to visit Rhode Island as I have ancestors who were among the founding families of the state.
I am proud of you and your friends not choosing to head south to do what spring breakers do (type of Girls gone wild vacation, drinking, party time). You have so much more class and are interested in culture and knowledge. Yes, our states have Capitol buildings that are beautiful and accessible.
Gee dari, the ivy leagues?! Sheesh! Tough to get into one of those!😬 gets cold in new England too!🥶but I would be happy to get my grad degree at Rutgers. They have a Town campus in livingston nj. Love the big R!!!
Wow look at you! Y'all are exploring so much and seeing so much it's awesome to see a glimpse of those adventures! I wish we had anything special down here in Memphis except Beale and the Mississippi but ain't nothing worth visitin for imo. I'd HIGHLY recommend a road trip down to Roadtrip down to Destin Florida! I had a friend who was from Russia, and she and her Dad went down to Destin after I told her about how my family always go on a yearly vacation, and well she went there and said she fell in love with Destin and didn't want to return to work in Memphis! I damn near died from laughter, because she understood what we Memphians say about Memphis all the time, we don't want to go back! Once you walk the beaches of Destin, and then eat on the shoreline, it's truly heaven on Earth! She said her dad already was looking to moving there, so beware, once you experience Destin you WILL more than likely, lose a love for the city life! So save it for after you're tired of NYC lol.
Hi Dari, everything OK? It seems like an unusually long time since your last video. I do like your videos, because I see things I'm somewhat familiar with through a new set of eyes.
Here are some fun facts since this is my home residence: Connecticut is Indian for long river and had a rich indigenous population. The Pequots and Mashantucket tribes opened two super famous casinos named Foxwoods and Mohegan. Hartford, CT was the insurance capital of the world. CT is a legislative state- we write laws. Of course Yale University is one of the premiere universities in all of America. Rhode Island is known for Block Island where you can take the ferry, Newport (Taylor Swift’s summer home) which has the picturesque Cliff Walks, and Jamestown, RI where they hold America’s Cup some years. These two states are among the 13 colonies that first form America when we were a young nation and for that reason they have rich historical significance. Thanks for covering these states. My favorite past time here is going to all the music venues on weekends, love the underground music seen, especially at Toad’s Place in New Haven by Yale.
@@mattfinleylive The sailing people have to sail somewhere from the Hudson River side so it makes sense that there's a clubhouse at the other end in Rhode Island if they want to practice sailing in less exposed waters. The Long Island Sound is sheltered from the Atlantic Ocean.

2:07 Library catalogs can now also be found on computers. Wooden cabinets are mostly sold and used for various purposes, e.g. parts storage dealers, etc. they buy it.
I loved Gilmore Girls. I miss that show. Now I have to re watch it. I used to watch that show in my 20s. Wow that is crazy. I’m glad you’re enjoying it. ❤
Now that was a nice surprise. I live in Florida but I was Born and Raised in Woonsocket Rhode Island. So Happy that you guys enjoyed my Home State. Take Care Young Lady and Enjoy the USA. (Florida Bob) Tampa, USA.
Thanks for another tour. I'll never see everything myself and that's why I enjoy your videos and explanations. I've been to Harvard now and enjoyed it. I don't know what you're planning for your next long summer break (Except sorting out your Visa/Passport) Maybe you won't understand. I'm a HUGE fan of Elvis Presley. (Did you know his house attracts the most visitors per year?) His house is in Memphis, Tennessee. August is mostly the busiest time. Elvis passed away on 16th of August 1977. They call it Elvis week. It end is on the night of 16/17 August. Various Elvis Clubs get a turn to organize it. Since his death in 1977 the fans got together outside his house for a vigil. Thousands of fans gathered burning candles. It is much more organized now. People use chalk and write their names on the wall. The wall is washed twice a year. After his birthday on 8 Jan and his death in August. It is hot in August. Elvis had only one child. Lisa-Mari. She passed away last year. Her son Benjamin (Elvis' grandson) committed suicide earlier. They were also buried on the same ground.
You guys had a great trip on your spring break! I enjoy following your travels. If you guys ever get the time, be sure to read more about the life of Roger Williams, who had a contentious career fighting for religious freedom during his day, as well as separation of church and state, which was a HUGE issue in those days (fighting the tyrannic rule of kings and queens and popes). When you visited the State Capitol Building in Providence, I'm surprised you didn't see or show a large bronze statue there called "Independent Man," to honor Roger Williams. Also,William's place of burial was lost, and when they attempted to find it, they think his body may have been consumed by a tree root. This tree root is on display at the John Brown House near Brown University.
How amazing that tour ❤❤❤. I've only been in Boston once and it was fantastic but I always wanted to do that tour: Providence, Newport, Etc. that must be fantastic. Next time I'll travel to the US, I guess 😁😁😁
It's interesting that the Capitol building of Rhode Island is based on the one in Washington. I remember when I visited Cuba, the Capitol building in Havana is also based on the US capitol, just slightly larger. I've never been to Washington D.C. (I've only been to the US a few times so far), but it's on my bucket list to see!
So happy that you got to see Newport!. The mansions are worth visiting next time. They are amazing. Newport is the sailing capital of the US so would be a wonderful place to go sailing. Block Island is nice too. Italian food in Providence is excellent but you may like since it tends to be a little spicy (not super hot, but tasty spicy). If you order a whole lobster and crack it yourself, you the sweet lobster meat in butter and that's it. Not spicy and very tasty. If you don't want to crack the shell yourself, the waiters would be happy to do for you. Dave in Boston
@@DariStep just be aware that pizza places aren't the highest paying jobs and the owner's are aging so the quality of pizza or 'abeetz' does fluctuate depending on when you're there.
If you like to watch American TV shows (is that a good way to expand English skills?), there is a historical drama series called "The Gilded Age" that takes place in early New York City and also in Newport.
Interesting it looks like that you made the right decisions even it was not easy to come to the USA and study, you have a higher calling. Thanks for your vlog and pictures.🎉
If you want to see a big college campus, go to Penn State University in State College, PA. It's about a four hour drive from New York City. One the larger campuses and college towns in the country.
For your next road trip you should budget more time and visit Boston, Cape Cod, and coastal Maine. Maybe take an AMTRAK train from NY Penn Station to Boston, sightsee in Boston, then rent a car in Boston to visit farther away places like Cape Cod and Maine.
@@DariStepThen how about something in a different direction, namely west, to see attractions in Pennsylvania? Philadelphia of course to see places important to American history. But also more adventurous stuff like rafting on the Lehigh River, or hiking in the Pocono Mountains. Or family-friendly activities like the Crayola Crayon factory, or Hershey Park (a chocolate-themed amusement park). Or continue farther west to visit Pittsburgh.
Hey Dari, I can understand going north versus south, the weather was perfect, the drive was peaceful, and everything was less hectic. Very nicely done, love the interaction with your friends! Of course, my favorite stop on your tour was the library, incredible. I'm sure you were all on a limited time scheduled, but you less then an hour away from Harvard? 😭😭 Maybe next time! 😁😁 Also, next time you visit a state government building, go to one that has legislators and make sure they are in session. Then you can see government in action (Of course it may or may not be the action we want to see, but it's action😂😂 )! I truly is something to see as it gives you a perspective on how government "Should😉" work(s). The AirBnB was very nice and I thought the price was decent!
I hope you will take a road trip a little further north and checkout one of our sugar houses. The best ones will be on the back roads. Maple Sugar season lasts roughly until the end of March.
Your trip was a lot different to your Russian friend's spring break trip to Tampa Florida. I think that both trips were to interesting parts of America. You should try to see the sunny South, perhaps California, sometime this year.
Another interesting and fun video with good friends and wonderful content. The filming was excellent and showed places I will probably never get to see, which is why you are so special to many of us. I am loving seeing places through your unbiased eyes. Many thanks to you, Dari!
You did spring break right best to avoid where the majority of kids go because usually nothing but trouble and dangerous people that prey on that. Nice to see you guys enjoying yourselves and you be you not everyone else.
You have excellent grades. Maybe you can transfer to Yale to finish your degree and still have financial aid. A Yale Degree is one of the best. By the way, a direct ancestor of mine is Roger Williams. I also have ancestors who were on the Mayflower. Woo Hoo. Just a fun fact.
@@DariStep You can do it. Yale is tough, but you have good grades and you never know. What does it cost to take it? I remember taking those tests. I didn't want to pay the money if I knew I probably wouldn't get in. The thing is you do not know what they are looking for. They may want a female Russian in their program, in which case you might be able to score lower and still get in.
There is probably another way in. But business school in any first class university isn't cheap despite the looks. Also time keeps going, and things change. Am glad she did entrepreneurship instead of the MBA, which is in a way sometimes almost the same thing. That's because MBA students sometimes have a choice to choose at the end to specialize in entrepreneurship. Some Business students always endeavor for the best perceptive elevation of their hard work into business management excelling.
@@ukgod6789 I thought she was doing an MBA. Either way, she will be employed and make a nice paycheck. If you are smart enough, and it helps if you are a minority, there is financial aid available. She got a full ride, I believe.
It's the best time of the week...getting to see your adventures. 🙂 I'm glad you got the chance to explore New England, and I always like how you find a state park to visit in each road trip you take. I hope that this is the start of a lot of trips...there are so many parts of the country worth seeing and I sincerely wish you get the chance to see them all. Here's to a good week back in classes for you 🎉 🥂 and thanks as always for your amazing videos.
I'm surprised you had trouble finding lobster that wasn't spicy in Rhode Island. In Massachusetts, New Hampshire, or Maine, you would more likely have to seek out a spicy version. Also, the clams, scallops, and oysters are really good. If you get raw oysters, they can be quite intimidating to look at and kind of gnarly going down, but might be worth it if you want to feel like you're tasting the ocean. Clam chowder is good, too, and is a staple. North of Rhode Island, it's a cream base, so definitely not spicy. Rhode Island style is also good, but it's a broth, so it's more like a soup.
Just want to thank you for breaking out the drone when you did. There is just something special about the aerial perspective giving a grand view. 👍 Glad you enjoyed the easy car rental experience, but wondering how you would rate US drivers vs. other countries you have driven in. 🤔
Yale was (and still is,for the most part) strong in the performing arts as well as academics. New Haven used to be where plays were "tried out" before they were committed to Broadway, NYC
Wikipedia's entry for the Schubert Theater has many listed examples of shows that opened there and then became famous in NYC: www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shubert_Theatre_(New_Haven)
I was very surprised and delighted to see that you got to visit my home state of Connecticut! It's not "New York City" for sure but still very nice living here. It's also nice that New York is not too far away and easily accessible by car, train, or bus.

You shouldddd!
I have a video from there :))
Looks like you and your friends had a great time!
It was!
That looked like a fun trip. You saw a lot for just a couple days. It seems you are getting more familiar with the process of traveling in the US now.
Thanks for sharing ☀️
Dari - you are getting very comfortable in the USA!
Hi Dari nice road trip, take care
Thank you 😊
You went to New Haven without a pizza stop? Maybe next time.
Do they call it 'Apizza'? or is that just internet.
@@ronw8628Yes, the traditional places do. And they pronounce it "abeetz."
Pepe's world famous pizza?
Next time ☀️
@@DariStep just be aware that pizza places aren't the highest paying jobs and the owner's are aging so the quality of pizza or 'abeetz' does fluctuate depending on when you're there.
If you like to watch American TV shows (is that a good way to expand English skills?), there is a historical drama series called "The Gilded Age" that takes place in early New York City and also in Newport.
Oh cool! That’s for sharing :)
Thanks for another wonderful adventure. Dari! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@DariStep ❤
You would love Vermont. You must visit Montana, Oregon and Puerto Rico!🙏
Maybe one day!
OK Dari can you name all the states that make up NewEngland? This will be on your exam here is a hint CT RI MA VT NH and ME it's all up to you now.
I live in Rhode Island near Bryant university
Earned my Business Analyst certification from Bryant. Nice campus
You guys already had spring break? Dang.
Interesting it looks like that you made the right decisions even it was not easy to come to the USA and study, you have a higher calling. Thanks for your vlog and pictures.🎉
Thanks for your support ☀️
I live about 8 miles from Chatfield Hollow !
If you want to see a big college campus, go to Penn State University in State College, PA. It's about a four hour drive from New York City. One the larger campuses and college towns in the country.
Maybe one day ☺️
Dari, I know you are not a physically large person, but that first coffee I saw in your hand looked the size of the bucket I use to wash my car.
You are so cool.
For your next road trip you should budget more time and visit Boston, Cape Cod, and coastal Maine. Maybe take an AMTRAK train from NY Penn Station to Boston, sightsee in Boston, then rent a car in Boston to visit farther away places like Cape Cod and Maine.
I’ve been to Boston a few months ago ☀️ and I definitely want to explore more later!
Ahahha I’ve been to Harvard last November 😃
I hope you will take a road trip a little further north and checkout one of our sugar houses. The best ones will be on the back roads. Maple Sugar season lasts roughly until the end of March.
Sounds great!
You should visit stanford university. Its even bigger:) ive been studying here for a couple of years and i feel so privileged
I’d love it!
Your trip was a lot different to your Russian friend's spring break trip to Tampa Florida. I think that both trips were to interesting parts of America. You should try to see the sunny South, perhaps California, sometime this year.
Of course! One day ☀️
Very nice.
Another interesting and fun video with good friends and wonderful content. The filming was excellent and showed places I will probably never get to see, which is why you are so special to many of us. I am loving seeing places through your unbiased eyes. Many thanks to you, Dari!
Thank you so much 🙏🏼
You did spring break right best to avoid where the majority of kids go because usually nothing but trouble and dangerous people that prey on that. Nice to see you guys enjoying yourselves and you be you not everyone else.
Thank youuu
I'm glad you and your group had a nice trip. I love this video!😊❤
Thank you so much!!
I need a GMAT exam for Yale, and I really don’t want to pass it ahaha
You make every place in America look nice. Providence is supposed to be great for eating and also night life in the Summer.
That’s cool! Thank you 😊
It's the best time of the week...getting to see your adventures.
I also hope so ☀️
Nice break, Yale is gorgeous!!
I think so too!
Thanks for sharing ☀️
There are names - "New England" or "Manhattan" clam chowder, which allows for ordering the right menu item without actually traveling.
Very informative and very well put together. Great job!
Glad you liked it!
Just want to thank you for breaking out the drone when you did. There is just something special about the aerial perspective giving a grand view. 👍 Glad you enjoyed the easy car rental experience, but wondering how you would rate US drivers vs. other countries you have driven in. 🤔
I’d say there are more or less the same as in Europe ahaha
Dari! You have shown very nice places! Thanks for you!
My pleasure 😊
Wonderful video Dari..... Please Explore as much as you can and I will follow your every Step....... :-)) xxxxxx
Thank you! Will do!
@@DariStep It is so good to see you so Happy after all you have been through.... :-)) xxx
Looks like you had fun. Awesome 😎
I did!
Yale was (and still is,for the most part) strong in the performing arts as well as academics. New Haven used to be where plays were "tried out" before they were committed to Broadway, NYC
Wikipedia's entry for the Schubert Theater has many listed examples of shows that opened there and then became famous in NYC:
www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shubert_Theatre_(New_Haven)
Beautiful trip! I love Yale. I only been outside of the campus! New Haven as a city is not much to see! Great trip loved it!
I agree 🙌🏼
Hello Dari, Its always good to see your latest vlogs. I hope you have a better lobster dish next time. Amazing !!
I hope so too! Thanks ☺️
Lobster Bisque?
The only other place I've seen those weird male caryatids before (they are traditionally female) was on Nevsky Prospect in St Petersburg.
I was very surprised and delighted to see that you got to visit my home state of Connecticut! It's not "New York City" for sure but still very nice living here. It's also nice that New York is not too far away and easily accessible by car, train, or bus.
Enjoyed your trip. This cold weather suits you well.
Ahahha not really 😂
Lol my undergrad university is like a city. And I agree life can change quickly and I’m glad to see your thriving
Thanks 🙌🏼
