What is man? From the dust mortal. And Yahweh God formed man of the dust of the ground, andbreathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (nephesh) Genesis 2:7. In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. (Gen. 3:19), All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust. (Job 34:15) For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. (Ps. 103:14-15) For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. (Eccl 3:19-20). Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. (Eccl. 12:7). Now the question remains as to whether there is consciousness after death. The answer is no. For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.(Eccl. 9:5).Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.(Eccl. 9:6). For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks? (Ps. 6:5) Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; (Ps. 13:3) The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence. (Ps. 115:17). The dead saints are not in heaven: Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell? (Pro. 30:4). And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. (John 3:13). For David did not ascend into heaven, but he himself says: 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, (Acts 2:34). The dead will live again after the first (for the elect) or the second resurrection:And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them...and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. (Revelation 20:4-5) and verse 12 speaks of the second resurrection "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works."
Earth will be the abode of the saved while those of the 2nd resurrection will receive literal death (if still unrepentant): Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. (Matt. 5:5) His soul will abide in prosperity, And his descendants will inherit the land.(Ps. 25:13) Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.( Isa.60:21) For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. (Ps. 37:9-11) For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.

At the end "he was sentenced to death by fire". That was the Inquisition, which name is never mentioned in most of history books. The Inquisition lasted up to the high 1800s. And the amount of damage the Catholic church inflicted in humanity has been erased by confabulation between state and church.
