- I did a student loan for my master degree at the Skema business School. I paid my first year in the US and I still had the money to pay my M2 in Brazil. I invested this money in this mustang, the first car I ever bought, 4 months to find the good one and 5 months to work on it. New master cylinder, new radiator, new exhaust pipe gaskets, new tires, new steering wheel, new carpet. It is working very well, it was my daily car for 5 months. I shipped the car to France to sell it. I did it to finance part of a personal project, a trip from Canada to Argentina with my motorcycle to present my project to the best universities on my way.
Everything is stock except the carburetor Holley and the mufflers. I do not know the brand of the mufflers, there were installed on the car when I bought it. The former owner did not know and there is no name on it. I guess it can be some Flowmaster 40 as there are lot of installations of them. I sold the car a year ago.
cross border :’(
Nico Mendoza Come on, you cant have em all to yourselves! ;)
Definitely Flowmasters
How much did you sell for, if you don't mind me asking?
Sounds great
I love how you can hear the cylinders starting up one by one
Music to my ears
and along with the big puff of black smoke shows the carby is flooding the motor
Sounds to me like there's a cam, and headers 😂.. mufflers don't sound like that 😂😂😂😂
One by one.....jijiji
@65FASTBACKMAN not in the litteral sense but as the engine turned over some cylinders didnt fire up instantly.
As someone who's owned one of these, I'm more impressed by that door latching sound.
When ever i open the door to my 93 fox i imagine thats what the gates to heaven opening sound like
For really lol. That's sturdy. Most are heavy and sloppy and need the judges replaced to get that sound
@@pascualbp nah bro that's not it. Lol I love mustangs but the fox interior is a discrace to it's extirior beauty. The interior is hell lol.
I KNOW RIGHT? it's like mint condition
@@thomasburr9244 that why my interior is all aftermarket 😂 i couldnt go from driving a s550 premium pp to seeing the boring interior fox anymore

It‘s a shame we don‘t build cars like that anymore. I would be happy if the cars nowadays would at least look like that.
While i agreee that they look awesome. They were unnefficient and unsafe as hell.
@@0neo what makes the new ones any safer
Steve Vaught Airbags, crumple zones, computer assisted stability and traction control. Cars now have to meet safety standards and get good MPG to boot
@@vadidithy I ain't no expert but what good is being safe and just surviving without the fun of a nice vehicle.
@@vadidithy well what stops companies from putting modern technology in something like it? Surely now if some company started producing cars that looked like that mustang they could make it meet everything it has to, and get good mpg
This time it ain't just about being fast.
@David Sanchez I guess it looks good enough for you to click the video and comment on it.
@David Sanchez What ? Lol. I think most everyone here would agree the car looks just fine... Any many of us wouldn't mind owning one. You're not into classics, that's ok.
@David Sanchez Shut up
@David Sanchez Idk boss its a pretty sexy car
Living a quarter mile at a time
Even the door closing sounded amazing
yeah like closing the deawoo microwave "door" hahahah
@@lacroix352 You mean "Daewoo"?
Typical 64 1/2-70 Mustang or Falcon. That latch has a distinctive sound. Just as a 67-69 Camaro Chevelle Impala do. Or a 65-66 Ford pickup, or a 67-72 Ford pickup. Absolutely different sounds. Mopars from 63-69 sounded the same, Mopars from 70-79 cars and pickups sound the same. It's a car guy thing.
I wouldn’t say even. I would say especially.
@@STEEPPOW hey thanks for that. I do that to other people and they get annoyed but I appreciate being corrected lol
'65 mustang coupe is so beautiful
I prefer the fastbacks, imo they are the best looking mustang out there
@@BobbySmith222 True
Special Microwave yeah the old fastbacks are the best.
to think these were considered a woman’s car. i’d say they were lucky!
@@themuffinman775 Regardless these cars were (and still are) rated E for everyone. I love Ford mustangs 🤠
The 289 is a very underrated engine. Lightweight, revs well and makes good power for it's size. I had one in my 66 comet. It left many a Camero and Charger in the dust when challenged at the light!
Were the Camaros snd Chargers 6 cyl? 289 were slow as fuck. High 15’s 1/4 is not impressive.
@@shippybs No kidding. Maybe left Slant 6 Chargers in the dust. Might have a slight chance against a 318 Charger. Next engine option was the 383 big block (up to 1971) and there's no way in hell a 289 would do anything but look at taillights of that Charger.
you must not understand power to weight.
a 289 is fairly light, especially considering factory ones were made out of all cast iron.
a 383 is a heavy boat anchor, whatever power the added displacement grants is nullified with the added weight.
the mustangs were lighter than the chryslers aswell. if you wanted to beat a mustang, a lightweight barracuda with a smallblock is a better choice.@@Coelacanth97
and this is all but ignoring the fact that bigger engine choices than the 289 became available in '67,
Had a '63 falcon I put a 289 in.
4.11, C4, shift kit, 3000 stall GER converter, torker manifold, little cam, 750 Holley and slicks. Mid 12s.
@@riogrande163false
289’s have a sound all their own!
They share that sound with the rest of the windsors!
@@dannyb5023 The 351 and the 302's from the '80s have a diff. firing order.
@@lesliehorwinkle yeah, the old 302s sound just like i
It's the cast iron log manifolds
@@lesliehorwinkleThe 289 and the 302 are almost the same engine. In fact, they ARE the same engine, except the 302 has a longer stroke.
The look, the sound, the leather jacket. *Perfect*
I think the most beautiful cars are the mid 60's Mustangs, Vets and Camero's.
CamAro. Come on, man. I'm giving you a pass on Vettes.
What about the mopers and gotes

Don’t forget the 1970 Chevy cheville and the Plymouth hemi cuda. The Chevy bel air and the thunderbirds in the 50’s as well

@@Mulder-Scully lol I was just pointing out your spelling
That's exactly how a 65 Mustang with the 289 that my friend owned sounded just before he spun it out on bald tires with me and another friend in the back seat way back in 1975. We bumped heads but no one was seriously hurt. Wild ride.
OK, why were you in the backseat ? LOL
a 1965 289 mustang was the first car i ever had, i was 16yrs old in 1976, and i thought i was the luckiest and happiest person on the plant! nothing but sweet sweet memories of the summer of 76'.....i would go back in a heartbeat if i could.
Grew up in tahat era late 70s early 80s brother had a few nice hot rods mustang 289 442 and gto all late 60s man those cars today would sell for a fortune. I remember many fun times in my brothers before I was old enough to drive. When i was 15 he took me to a dirt road and tought me to drive in his 66 442 man what a beast that car was.
I have this car, same year, engine, color and everything (gotta love black and chrome...) I'll never sell her. I always tell people it will be one of three ways it will end between us: they'll pry her from my cold dead hands, pry me from hers, or we're going out together!
ZombieWilfred if you find someone else who wants to sell his 1965 mustang. Please tell me.
@@OGPixelTrix There are plenty of them for sale because they made so many. Saw one for sale in great shape here in Maine the other day for $8500 on Facebook marketplace.
@@ZombieWilfred Beautiful car!!! Lucky guy!!!
Make sure you have a plan post mortem for the car, if you don't transfer ownership to someone who cares after you pass it will only end up rotting at a barn forever
@Your Dad Haha, I wish she could just pop out dents and repair damage on her own like Christine... 😁
That sound surpassed my expectations by a million, you sir get a like. 😌
I’m a Chevy fan but I appreciate all classic cars. The ignition sound, the door closing sound, the 289, the looks. Just perfect
small block fords sound glorious.........
That car is bad ass and so is the exhaust! It’s old school and can’t be duplicated👍
Funny how the small V8s always sound so gorgeous. Here in Australia in the 70s and 80s we had a 253 V8 that just sounded so beastly.
Aaaah yes the old push rod engine. Fantastic sound! Nothing better
i agree with the sentiment but you can literally go buy a 2021 model year pushrod engined vehicle off the lot
i mean pretty much only from chevrolet but still
@@zacharyclarke4240 ?
@@zacharyclarke4240 pretty crazy to me chevy's still on pushrods, I mean it's fun and definitely a coolness factor but it goes without saying ohc's are better
Perfect. That's how a car is supposed to sound. Never forget that.
nope... nice, smooth, V8s do not sound like that; it sounds harsh, like the exahusts are missing the crossover pipe; i would not drive it like that th second day.
@@josepeixoto3384 The "garlgly" and "tubey" sound that makes it sound like you have paper towel rolls on your ears is the exhaust setup. Probably the aftermarket mufflers. Most people dont like this sound. Its more of an old school sound. Probably Flowmaster mufflers. They are known for making this distinct note.
Person I just met: "What kind of music do you like?"
Me: "It's complicated."
Good sound, doesn't have to be LOUD, just a good tone!
it is loud.
@@bars7434u know damn well what he means.
@@bars7434 It's not loud, lol.
Oh my. I'd be so lucky to just touch a beautiful classic like this.
Bought my 1st new Mustang in 2005, the first year of the new body style. Besides the awesome retro look, it was the sound that it made, that made me buy it.
lightweight, simple and awesome sound!
Something tells me you're a Rush fan. Not quite sure, but I just have a strange feeling...
lightweight, simple and awesome sound is a REALLY good formula for a car...
still a Falcon underneath
Idk if id say lightweight lmao car still weighs about as much if not more than newer model trucks
Almerich !APO statt AfD! Oh definitely for a v8 it’s pretty damn light, if I remember right the v6 model was actually heavier lmao
Give this up for electric and hybrid cars? No chance in hell! 😂😂
Who says you have to give this up?
Are you going to daily this in traffic? That would be a far worse crime than buying an electric car.

I have been walking down the street hear a car coming and say to myself, YUP that's a 289 coming, THEN SEE THE CAR.. Ya just can't mistake a 289.
How can you tell?
Lovely sound, really.
289's were another giant killer along with 327 Chevy and 340 Mopar.
My first car when I was in high school in 1966 was a 1966 Mustang with a 289. I paid $ 1400 for it with 633 miles on it.
Miss my ole girl, got her in HS in 1980. She was a 65 beater tho, northern rust, faded paint, but that 289, beat the hell out of her and she only required maintenance, nothing broke. Sweetness
Best sound THERE is.... Old school start up.......
This is my dream car
your video just popped in my feed, sounds great! making me nostalgic over my last Mustang, but I sold it due to it being involved in a police chase, it lost them, then huge number of units were patrolling looking for it, while it was parked in woods, but I had to sell significant less than value to make sure person took it away in enclosed trailer, and to paint before being back on the road. it was fast & fun. its been gone over 20 years, the best way to win a race, toss keys to opponent, tell the to take it for a spin, to see if want to race when they return. thats with friends I knew, lol. I stopped street racing near that time as well do to other issues.
Just another set of flow masters.
Absolutely beautiful to hear and see.
Outstanding inside, upholstery, white leather! Beautiful
Seems like I remember hearing this same sound every Saturday morning coming from my neighbor's driveway, while I'm just trying to sleep in past eight in the morning. Beautiful car though. 👍
289 was one of the great ones , I'm not a mustang or Ford fan but the 289 was an exceptionally great motor .
My first job when I was 16th And still in high school was at a Ford dealership.
I'm a Chevy man now, But my love for FORDS will never go away❤❤❤
*greenville has entered the chat*
The 289 was the best motor Ford ever made!
They say mustangs aren’t muscle cars
That’s bullshit
A car that sounds like that is a damn muscle car hands down
Golden Retriever who said Stang’s aren’t muscle cars?😂
@@Justinmega theyre pony cars these 289s stock only push 195 hp
@@thehumancrumb.668 those were pretty good numbers for the time of course though obviously it isn't 1965 anymore
It's too small for muscle car tho. Sound is not everything
@@silasmcgee3647 nah hes right i can have a 110 hp v8 that sounds badass it doesnt make it a muscle car
That V8 actually sounds quite similar to the old low revving goods transport trucks with really high low-end torque!!!
This vid keeps coming back into my recommended throughout the years, and every time I see it I click on it and every time it makes me happy. lol
I wish I had one... .👀 wait a minute i do.! It's the 66' 289V8 coupe.,Signal Flare Red. Made in the San Jose plant in 1966! It was my first car, paid 1,700.

Adam De Larozza ok
@@baddz6141 ok
You sold it, I would cry as the new owner was driving away. Beautiful car 👍
Ford Mustang, for me, the best car of all
As long as you don’t get the v6 never ever get a v6 mustang there’s a reason most on the road are 5.0 lol
Everything about the car screams badass
That sounds awesome👍
Driver 1 reference ? The way you’re dressed up and the dark Mustang made me think of this :D
stop sending these cars out of the US god damn theyre getting harder and harder to find
David Griffiths I cry 😭 every time I see one in Europe
my dads took at least 50 into the Uk lol. We haven't even started with the amount of chargers yet XD

We can't do it atm because of the bad exchange rate tho :(
what do you mean atm?
Ford Mustangs are beautifully designed, that when you build them right and take care of them, they’ll run for 100 years or longer, just like a family.
🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶😍😎
Ive always loved this model of Mustang and this is a very fine example. Well done.
Bom... Se você morou no Brasil, deve estar entendendo meu comentário.. Muito legal este som do escapamento. Realmente, muito bom.. 👍
I had a friend in the 70' with that setup car and motor. He had the same rims but his mustange was red. Nice car !
That was so strong i can feel it vibration on my cell phone...
This guy not only has a sick ride, but also the proper style to go with it. No homo.
Also he managed to pull away without hitting the person on the sidewalk
Perfect exhaust note when you have never heard a TVR.
The sound of an American V8 is way better it doesn't sound like a broken vacuum cleaner
That model in black is crazy.
In Germany we say:
"V8 das macht Krach in der Nacht"
"Alles unter 6 Zylinder ist asozial"
The 289 engine had a sound all it's own.
Hello, what exhaust/mufflers did you use? thank you
Did he ever reply to your question?

Is it straight piped? X piped? H Piped? We gotta know!
The car my father taught me how to drive in when I was 14. Great memories.
Super great sound! What is the size of the wheels and tires? Thank you
See this is how a car should sound
.... not like thay Ecoboost crap they have now!
Ecoboost mustang is pretty good if you don't care about that V8 roar. But it's not a muscle car without it.
Yea it's not the best sounding engine, but those ecoboost trucks are powerful!
Realy perfect sound!
My dream car and I'm 13

Great taste
Right Uppercut thanks
I got my first look at a 65 mustang on my 14th birthday in the winter of 1966 I had turned into a bit of a car nut. Flimsy fenders, back seat had no room for a 6 foot 14 year old. I thought it was terrible. In 1984 when I turned 30. I got to see an original 65 mustang. It wasn’t terrible it was horrible. In 1974 I bought a 1968 mercury cougar that had a 289 two barrel with a 4 speed manual. Cost me 1500 dollars. Drove that car for ten years. An i had the foresight to have it undercoated to protect it from the east coast weather.
Flowmaster 40? Sounds surprisingly good. Cheers Check out my mustang if you were interested
