    These switches are really great and the video doesn't quite get across how buttery smooth they are. I feel like I'm typing on little silent clouds! I can't wait for my sculpted keycaps to get in to really take this keyboard to the next level.

    Holy shit this might be one of the best sound check videos I've ever seen. Those twilight switches looks awesome.

      @@tommyholmberg they really are! I'm slowly migrating all my boards to ambients at this point. Glad you liked it!

    I just bought the nocturnal ones because I got really tired of hearing the clicking of the kalih choc whites originally in my voyager. Excited for these.

    I'm waiting for my order of ambient twilights to arrive to replace the reds in my new Voyager. I can't wait to try them out. Thanks for the video.

      literally about to do the same haha ordered voyager with pro reds but I need some slightly silent and non-linear keys to satisfy my needs. The ambient twilights/nocturnals should do the trick

      @@Ce_Lazca I actually don't mind reds after using them but I definitely think I'll prefer the ambients. I guess I'll know for sure on Monday. I hope yours work out for you.

      @@M4CARBINE556just tried out the voyager with pro reds. I don’t mind the PRs actually going to stick with them a bit longer and settle into the board before considering the ambients

      @@Ce_Lazca The Ambients are all linear as of now. They are currently working on the tactile silent, Sunrise, but they are not available yet. If you are okay with the noise level of the reds, then definitely check out a set of Sunsets in the meantime to see if those would work for you as well. They are not silent, but they are the best tactile choc switches out there, imo.

    Is the actuation force noticably different between the Nocturnal and Twilight?

    • @TheOctonite
      @TheOctonite  4 месяца назад +1

      Not a whole lot. But I'm also coming from Choc Blacks which are much heavier than either of them. That being said, having the 20g on my pinkies has been a lot of help for the strain of longer typing sessions. Wish I had dropped the outer column weight before!

      @@TheOctonite Thanks for the reply and helpful video! Yeah, I'm on browns but the tactility is so disappointing that they are practically linears. These are so freakishly silent that I think I'll end up going the same route with Twilights for the dominant fingers and Nocturnals for the pinkies.

      @@manastaz if you still want tactile, check out lowprokb.ca
      Darryl is the one who designed the Ambients and he is planning on releasing a silent tactile called Sunrise in the near future as well! If you want tactile choc switches though, it's hard to beat the Sunsets. There are international vendors that sell them as well if you don't want to pay shipping fees from Canada. Same for the Ambients.

      @@TheOctonite I love the sunset on my Voyager. I think I am going to try the sunrise when they are available.

    • @TheOctonite
      @TheOctonite  4 месяца назад +1

      @@michaelfrieze Sunsets are great! I just have now been ruined by the Ambients and will likely never be able to use "regular" choc switches again because of the pin rattle in them. It's so nice having the mushy, dampened sound of the ambients accompany my typing. I will also pick up some Sunrise switches when they come out, but even my Sunsets feel worse now compared to the Nocturnal/Twilight switches.

    Do these switches need lubing?

    • @TheOctonite
      @TheOctonite  4 месяца назад +2

      I didn't lube them and they feel great. Once I've used them for a bit, I'll try lubing a few and see if they make a drastic change. There is a little tiny bit of scratchiness about halfway down on the 35g that I think will wear out as they are used.
