This is what every instruction video/lesson should be like. Short, concise, no excessive talking, no introductory noodling. Just straight to the point.
A wise three year old (my daughter) approached me one Sunday afternoon and in her cuteness told me: My Bible merse says: "Be ready to share and you work wis you own hands". Look at the joy this man gets in sharing what he has been given and developed! He does it joyfully and humbly (btw, humility = power under control). It took me a half hour to watch this five minute video. Had to pause at each one, "play it" then "chase rabbits". This guy doesn't want you to learn Kirk Fletcher licks as much as he wants to inspire you speak the music.
Haha, I have actually hugged this guy. So did my friends, at the end of a gig a few years back. He is a genuinely nice guy. Super chilled out even when faced with us overexcited noisy drunk people. Took the time to hang out and chat to everyone after he played.
He's a master! There's some BB, some Buddy, some Freddie, some Albert and then some pure Kirk in there... Totally in awe of his feel and touch on the guitar.
Love the tone; love the licks. Way fed up with so many guitar heroes on RUclips who are far more interested in showing off than actually passing along anything useful. Tip of the hat to Mr Fletcher, this is all great stuff.
yeah...love the "bish bash bosh...job done" approach. too many you tube channels have 40 seconds info in a 15 minute video with the ego maniac teacher carping on about crap. This is 5 mins info in a 5 min video. 100% efficient
See,here's the thing.I can actually USE these licks! So many of these things are just terrible. They're playing stuff that's not useable or it's somebody's stuff. This sounds like the blues!
Hi. Info was given indirectly by playing, before each lick, the chord that defines the key (A9). The key is A. e.g. the first lick is based on BB box, with root @10 fret string B. . Lick3 A minor, pentatonic box II with root @10 fret string B. The fun is discovering on fretboard what's goin on. Another easy to discover is Lick #9 that is basically boxI + boxII @ start V fret (A)... Hope this helps us beginners . Ciao W
You post that as if it ain't normal to be inspired by BB King. Noticed your Clapton post also....If that's the case, you're a strange guitarist & I'd hate to listen to you play without inspiration.
bluesatsunset I would be kinda interested in a different approach to guitar. However, I do agree with what you're saying. Even Jimmy Page was influenced by BB King
I guess you've never had a kick in the nuts then. This is the blues. It's about being kicked in the nuts & climbing above it. If you want a different approach to guitar, try Jazz.
To me it's a A7/9/13 Chord. From low to high string the frets: 5,x,5,6,7,7. x means muted. Theses are wonderful licks for a Blues in A. Major and minor pentatonic mixed.

Perfect lick lesson! No annoying commentary, just the licks. No pentatonic scale, etc. Perfect!

It’s so sad you are indoctrinating your child which such drivel. Even though I know this story never actually happened
Not only a great bluesman but also a great person. Thank you kirk for sharing!
I love the simplicity of this lesson. It allows for easy expansion of the ideas.
I just want to hug this dude. He seems so nice!

Glad he shares his music freely vs. a generation ago you needed a record or or tape player and learn by ear or from another guitar player.
Thanx so much! These tiny licks open up a whole Universe. Combining minor and major pentatonics makes so much sense now. It starts to flow!!
yeah...love the "bish bash bosh...job done" approach.

I thought that at the end Kirk will say f*** that I quit but he seems to be is extremely nice and polite person. Thumbs up very usefull licks
The Best Bluesman of today!!! Great feeling!!
Kirk is my new guitar hero. He is off the charts good.
See,here's the thing.I can actually USE these licks! So many of these things are just terrible. They're playing stuff that's not useable or it's somebody's stuff. This sounds like the blues!
that pull off and then bend on lick number 3 is splitting my fingers open... i love it
Guess who is getting to be, if not already, everybody's favorite BluesMan???
😎👍🏽🎶🔥♥️🔥🎶😎👍🏽
Thank you Mr. Fletcher. Big man
Great stuff! Love the section where you put it all together!
¡Muchas gracias, Kirk! ¡Gran lección para los que estamos dando nuestros primeros pasos con el blues! Saludos desde Madrid.
Kirk can float a note!!🎶🎸👍
And this... 😂😂😂
He's like the Ron Swanson of guitar teachers. Blunt and to the point.
That's perfect if you ask me.
@@johnspringer8196 What part of Ron Swanson did you not understand? Haha.
Truly a patient man
Tasty! This is a great example of how the tone is in the touch.
Como esse cara ainda não tem o próprio canal aki no YT?
Good usable stuff here. Nice touch and feel.
Kirk is a very smooth and interesting player. How the hell did He sit through this.
This is #11: ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
This is all Kirk Fletcher. He may have his influences, but he plays like him, not Clapton, BB, Buddy etc. Love your music Kirk, and you too. Namaste x
Kirk, you made nu day,
Thanks for sharing these cool licks mang...
Very good, sounds great!
I was surprised that lick number. 6 came after lick number 5 I did not see that coming

Damn, man you could voice Kratos
*underrated comment
To the point!
cant tell wich fingers r on what fret!!!!
nice
To me it looks a whole lot easier than is,I will get there if I want to practise it,At this stage ,Not Sure, I like the Go For It Jam At the end...
Anyone know what amps he’s using?
dparel i think it’s a victory v40
Is that Dan’s LP?
What amplifier and pedal he has?
Surely putting the 'licks in context' bit at the start would have been better, then the breakdown.
I would like to learn but a little to fast for me. Maybe later. More practice.
Wow the alleged slowed down version is the same speed as the original
What gauge string does Kirk use?
11
Lick #5 was the best imo
💞💕💞💯
And this next lick would be in the Key of...keep em guessing
great job now put the words with the licks
I like those licks but I can't bend on a accustic guitar
William A-D Just slide up to the note!
The licks are fine, but if someone needs them slower than the original speed, this may be too advanced for them.
0:00 릭 1
0:30 릭 2
I cant get lick 2
Damn Shaq is good
why are those look sound like they were inspired by Eric Clapton nice Les Paul
Dig
These licks are no use to beginners unless you inform them what scale they're based on.

and he probably was inspired by listening to B.B. KING

bluesatsunset I meant without influence you walnut!
You have to be kidding me !!!! Lol, WTF !!!!!
And this is the sound of hundreds of people falling asleep... Zzzzzz
depends if you wanna learn or not
falling asleep when Kirk is playin'? man you have to consult!!
Prick
Take the pick quard off Kirk,,,,throw it in the garbage ,,,have a teguilla then ,,,,,play your ass off and dont look back,,,,
What is with the random chord strum before all the licks? Obnoxious
John Van Brunt
Nothing random about showing the chord the lick is played over

@@rhoomas I think it may be in the key of B actually
