      Paul Speaker, your "manual" does not have hub centric wheel spacer torque specs. Look at the instructions that came with your spacers. Odds are your spacers are aluminium and if you over torque you could strip the stud in the wheel spacer.

      CJ Pony Parts 4 piston calipers to clear some MMD 20x10 45offset wheels on a 2014 mustang. Clearly I will need spacers for my year car, but will they help for clearing the caliper and the spokes not hitting.?

    • @JCTiggs1
      @JCTiggs1 6 лет назад +3

      They're safe as long as you tighten them properly lol. As Bill mentioned, the factory spec for the wheel lugs is 150 ft-lb but for the smaller nuts on the spacers 120 to 125 ft-lb is safe. Also recheck them after 100 miles and then every 2000 miles.

    I ended up using red loctite and torqued the spacers to 110 ft lbs. is this safe or should I torque them a little more?

    • @speaker816ify
      @speaker816ify 7 лет назад

      Abdul Khan I used blue loctite and did 120... then 150 on lugs

    • @Zerogivengarage
      @Zerogivengarage 7 лет назад +2

      I would not recommend red loctite, it will make removal difficult.

    • @speaker816ify

      Bill Tumas blue.... I used the blue. not sure went I said red....

    • @AbdulKhan-fg8ig
      @AbdulKhan-fg8ig 7 лет назад

      I guess I'm going to have to re-torque the spacers 10 more ft lbs since I only torque'd them to 110 ft lbs initially. I used red loctite to ensure they wouldn't fly off. I get paranoid since I do drive the car aggressively.

    If I install these Wheel Spacers, Can i use wider wheels over the stock?

    • @rickmoyer5929
      @rickmoyer5929 8 лет назад

      +unknown11854 typically you wouldn't need spacers if you went with wider wheels. If you bought wheels that were meant specifically for the Mustang they would have a proper and aggressive width and offset. If you buy generic wheels you may want to run spacers if they have too much offset for a Mustang.
