I’d like to see it just to put a dagger into pompous PlayStation fans. PS I have a PS5 it’s great but PlayStation hardcore fans are annoying and toxic.
I feel it's the same on both sides. Hardcore Xbox fans can get the same way, but it would be better overall if people could meet in the middle and be respectful of others.
Huge acquisition and I think the next step is to probably look at which other third parties could be on the radar, if you think about it Bethesda and Activision blizzard fairly quickly. Microsoft setting up the long game here. PlayStation has the best exclusives undoubtedly but they need to start delivering something else if they going to stay on top or even in competition later on. As someone who owns both consoles I'm pretty excited for how much I will benefit from this :)
@@elshubi52 - Same here, having both systems I am excited where things are headed. Sony is taking quite a hit with Activision going with Microsoft as CoD is one of Playstation's biggest draws. Sony has been a step or two behind this past year and trying to play catch up. We shall see how they retort.
Next few years nothing will change except that maybe older titles will all be part of gamepass which is pretty exciting if any games were missed or someone wants to replay games that they may no longer have
That's a good point on the older games. I don't expect CoD to go exclusive any time soon. I'd guess 3 years at the earliest, but I do see it over time becoming an exclusive.
Everything new in the future exclusive to Xbox platform, existing projects with contracts will stay where they are. Just like with Bethesda. Nothing to see here.
Agreed. The next 3ish years with anything in active production will stay as-is. However, items outside of those I foresee either being shifted or reassessed.
Great video. I’ve never been a COD fan. I just got an XBOX series X BECAUSE I LOVE Bethesda. And won’t risk losing out. we have all consoles in my Man-Cave, Switch too. It’s all about gamers and playing Games. 👍🏽 going to start with GEARS of War , hear it’s a great franchise.
Totally agree. I've been a CoD fan since the original and Vanguard was the first one I didn't buy on launch date. I think I'm still a level 44 (haven't prestiged yet either, lol). With Activision, I'm really excited to get Blizzard games on PC Game Pass, that's going to be awesome. Gears of War is a great franchise (although Judgement wasn't that good comparatively speaking). Gears Tactics is a cool spin on the series as well since it's not a 3rd person shooter, but fills a lot of story beats.
This has the potential to really shift the landscape. Xbox, to me, has been the main place for FPS games and this could really solidify that. Microsoft is really starting to throw their weight around and I don't feel Sony can really stand toe-to-toe on that front.
@@anonymousguy6610 really? I’d argue this is the best case scenario for Activision/Blizzard as they haven’t innovated anything for a decade. They are just milking their franchises. It just means that your ps5 is just little more worthless now
No, because warzone (the cash cow of Activision) exists on PlayStation, and all future cod titles will tie in to warzone, therefore cod will continue to release on playsation.
That's a good point that I didn't think of. Warzone will stay multi-plat no matter what. The integrations however (which have been a massive issue, not to mention balancing 120+ weapons) I don't think would hold back future projects. At this rate, I actually hope warzone gets it's own cycles and no rely on the yearly release to blow everything up.
I think COD will be a timed exclusive but I think that the Sony playstation player base is just too big and it wouldn't make business sense to shut all those gamers out and lose out on all that revenue.
They won't lose out. COD players will just be forced to buy an Xbox. They lose out by allowing Sony a cut of the sales on their store and not being able to tempt Playstation users into GamePass. That's the whole point of buying a COD type franchise
You'd have Modern Warfare II coming later this year. You'll have the next one already in development. A year after that I'm sure is already starting development. All 3 of them would be multiplatform and have Sony agreements in place. Beyond that I would say is open season.
Will COD become an Xbox exclusive any time soon? What are your thoughts on this massive acquisition?

I love the war games BUT they all seem to funnel you from point to point. My first love in games is first person, open world.
Dying Light 2 has been pretty awesome for that so far.

SONY FANS MAD THAT MICROSOFT IS BEATING THEM AT THEIR OWN GAME OF HOARDING STUDIOS NOW.

I hope skylanders I added to gamepass without the portal that would make me super happy

All I'll say let those Sony kids cry about it becoming an exclusive
There was a lot of outcry, that's for sure.

In the near-term, I could see that based on what they have in the pipeline. After 3ish years, I bet it goes exclusive.

There going stay sony you paid 75 dollars and free gamepass
I'm excited for Activision|Blizzard games to start coming to Game Pass.

How so?
