@J. Dee Nah its just that the turntable channels on the mixer are reversed - in this case with the left turntable, the crossfader is cutting from the left-outwards instead of usually having it move from the right side-inwards (if that makes sense)

I've played piano for my entire life, and I don't think it amounts to the precision this takes. People automate these movements nowadays because learning to cut and scratch like this takes as much effort as learning any instrument, possibly more.
