      @deakemarschall2992 - Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. I actually like making these. As mentioned in this video, I've got a couple more I want to put out over the next couple week. I'm actually pretty excited about the new elastics that were featured in this video. They are by far the most robust I've come across for 2mm elastic shock cord. The colors are really stunning as well.

      @ParkerBinion - As always, many thanks for your feedback. I'm going to try to get another video out this week that cover the new bands, the hook and loop mad for the card, the 3mm sponge for the card and a mini neoprene pouch mod that ads a really nice spring steel belt clip. I like this mod because it makes it easier to clip on (or take off) a low profile mini tool pouch that can be used with the Pocket Rack mini. Thanks again for your post.

    The little pry bar at around 19:12 is sold by CountyComm. They are called widgy bars or widgy pry bars and come in 2, 3 and 4 inch sizes. They can be used to pry, pull up nails, as screwdrivers, can be used as a box cutter and can be modified to the user's requirements like making one end into a larger screwdriver.

    Finally a sensible EDC kit; the Knipex Cobra's are a game-changer. The one thing I'd change is use "Tie wire" AKA "Mechanic's wire" instead of smaller stuff. You have to purchase a large roll but it's quite strong. Anything smaller just doesn't hold things together. The one thing I'd add is 1 or 2 huge ty-raps used for HVAC ducts. Kind of hard to store- (you can cut them shorter) but very strong. You've earned another sub.

    I don't use a zip tie on a Bic lighter. I use an O-Ring. I forget the size but it slips right underneath and into the gap of the fuel release button. The button won't move at all until you slide the O-Ring off. I usually just slide the O-Ring down onto the body of the lighter. With tape wrapped around the lighter, I'm not sure, maybe wrap the tape further down or use smaller width tape. Anyway, I just went to Lowe's a few years back with a Bic, found a package of the right sized O-Rings and put them on a bunch that I bought for a collection (the graphics). I told another RUclipsr about it years ago but everyone still uses a zip tie. Not to brag but the O-Rings work better. No fuel leaks at all with a ring.

    • @EarthlingEDC
      @EarthlingEDC  Месяц назад +1

      @stephengaren2219 - Thank you for taking the time to share that information. I've got a wide selection of O-Rings and I'll see if I happen to have one that works for this purpose. The zip tie really is not a solution though. I can pop it on and off pretty easily, but I'm definitely going to look into your solution as well. Thanks again for posting.

    Yesterday a video short from austrianknifeguy popped up on my feed talking about US Rangers using O-Rings on lighters to prevent leaking. I never saw that video until then. It just made sense to see how an O-Ring would work on a Bic because of the gap beneath the fuel release button. I guess the rangers figured that out before I did. A #11 ring works on a standard Bic. Not sure about a mini one as the body may not be as wide, so a smaller size ring might be needed for those. I just found it funny that the US Ranger short came up on my feed. I don't think algorithms work off of comments. ??? But who knows nowadays.

    Im not sure if the tin is different in different markets, but for what its worth I found the tin my 711L came in is a good size to fit both it & the whole steinwhale set including extension. Just need to be efficient with space by storing a bit in both the 711L & the extension.

    • @EarthlingEDC
      @EarthlingEDC  2 месяца назад

      I'm familiar with that larger tin. I've seen it used in other organizer. It is definitely a good way to keep the ratchet and the bits together. I've added a pice of felt as well so that it does not rattle. Thanks for your post.

      @EarthlingEDC I haven't got mine yet, but I've been doing a bit of research. For someone like me, the main use would be cool fun stuff. But for others, they could scan for wifi traps, hack into a piece of animatronics that isn't working properly, use it as a rfid device, use it as an ir scanner or universal remote. It's my understanding that it has a lot of legitimate practical uses. I'm going to try to find ways that it can improve my life and make daily tasks easier.

    очень интересно, но часть инструментов можно заменить обычным мультитулом. а так выглядит компактно.

    • @EarthlingEDC
      @EarthlingEDC  2 месяца назад +2

      There are times where you need two of the tools on the multitool at the same time. As an example, a screwdriver and the pliers to hold a nut in place and keep it from rotating as you tighten the screw. Having individual specialized tools can give you more options for resolving issues. I do like multitools very much, but have found that having dedicated tools in a mini kit just works better for me. Thank you for posting. This is an interesting topic that I might pursue in a future video.

    That knife is pretty much unobtanium. I've never seen one in a store and I've never seen them in stock on the internet. For the past few weeks that knife doesn't even show up on the Walmart website anymore. OTOH there are some fairly good knives on sale for that price or just a few dollars more on Amazon black friday sales. For your purposes you could find a knife slightly smaller than that WalmartOrange to fit a little better on your card. Also that knife might not be legal in some places even in the US, you could find one with slightly shorter blade.

      I had written about that knife on Reddit about a month ago and the tread went crazy with comments. I’ve never seen so much interest in a Walmart knife before. It’s not a bad knife, but it’s a great under $10 knife. For me, I mostly wanted to see if it would fit on the Rack, for this video. Thanks for your post.
