In my opinion Siemens has taken the main idea from AB and their software Studio5000. There you can create many different Tasks (someting like main programm), and different people can create with this task independent from each other, but Siemens improved this idea.
That could be! I have not worked with AB yet, but I am pretty sure SIEMENS and AB try to learn/copy a lot from each other
@@hegamurl7434 I know, for example in Studio5000 it was impossible to split windows, you could watch only one window, with v31. now it's possible. Could you answer, what do you preffered classik (Step7, WinCC) or Tia?
I definitely prefer TIA portal over SIMATIC Manager... it is just so much simpler and more effective to use! And all tools are embedded into one, which makes the data sharing and communication in between 1000000x easier to implement and keep standards
@@hegamurl7434 but Tia is not optimized, Step with WinCC is much easier then Tia... I noticed that every new Tia need a new PC(((

I really wish I had known about this before the project I just finished. It would have helped a lot. This makes it more like the separated routines that Rockwell uses. Siemens is finally catching up with Rockwell.

Kind of but not exactly.
With seperate control loops you would have two completely independently running programs (Side by Side). The PLC can not run two things in parallel.
In the case of using multiple "Main" functions (as I did in both software units), they are executed AFTER each other.

Multi user and Software Units are both for projects with more than one engineer/programmer, so they seem similar but:
- Multi User is for sharing the same project data/software that is placed on a server
- Software Units are for sharing the same hardware

Software units made easy by plc sensei...but uhh yh if your firmware can't be updated past 2.5 it means you hv to buy a new PLC?🙁
Don't buy a PLC for it... it is not the most neccessary feature 😅 Unfortunately it is unavailable for it, but that is okay
