  • This last week, the voters of Ohio enshrined a right to abortion in their state constitution, in what might be called Ohio’s suicide note. In the heady days after the Jericho of Roe fell, this was the gut punch that we might call the first battle of Ai.
There are many political observations to be made, not to mention certain tactical decisions to be worked out. That aspect of the fight will certainly go on. That’s as it should be, and the political fight needs to continue, with all pro-lifers doing all that they can, in every state. But that is not our subject for today.
There are more fundamental issues that need to be on our minds, and on our minds all the time. The foundational issue is that our entire nation is riddled and shot through with the pox-ridden disease of secularism, and we have gone so far as to trick it out as some kind of a virtue. In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court decided that that the splotches on our skin were to be deemed as marks of robust good health, and that heavy fines for denying this would be fully appropriate.

We are not the "good guys" anymore, if we really ever were. We have so much work to do here in our owns lands and hearts before we could ever even think about saving other nations. But that would first require us (the Church) to take a good honest look at what we have allowed to happen to our neighbors under our watch.

I enjoy Doug’s posts, but one of my first thoughts just a minute into the video is that whenever he goes on a tear like this, he drops language that’s accessible only to the initiated. You can agree with him that evangelicals are talking to themselves…but not observing it in these videos is ironic. Doug doesn’t EVER speak to non-evangelicals. He uses Biblical phrases the secular world - and most of the Western Christian world - is so unaccustomed to that it requires an immense investment…from people who already think he’s out to lunch. I’m an intellectually curious person and don’t mind the investment…but the people who need the message the most are so put off by the language that they’ll skip the video for so much archaic Christian “gibberish.”
In other words…Doug made a career of ONLY EVER speaking to the choir. You cannot build a bridge for people who don’t know they need a bridge…and you can’t show them they need it if you’re not willing to meet them where they are.
What I’m criticizing here is not Doug’s devotion, faith, or moral character. I’m criticizing his craft. You can’t teach a child calculus before teaching him the layers of math that lead from basic arithmetic. Doug can declare calculus all he wants, but if he’s going to throw his hands in the air with righteous exhaustion when fifth graders “rebel against God” by “not getting it,” the children are lost. If the counter argument is that they shouldn’t have to “get it” and should “just stop sinning”…why offer arguments at all? Unless your purpose is to make yourself FEEL as though you extended your hand…
The church is great at thumping its chest, but they don’t want to get their hands dirty with the saving. This is comparable to Church elders declaring that all boys should have fathers…and then refusing to reach out to fatherless boys because to do so would be to offer a paltry version of fatherhood. In other words, the church thinks that if you can’t offer the purest version, you can’t offer it at all. The modern church has ZERO template for witnessing in the trenches. It’s all podium thumping and abstraction. I’d pay a hundred dollars to any secular person who could even summarize this video. It’s an exercise in literary technique and turn-of-phrase posturing. Doug is doing the very thing he’s criticizing. Or…do you think this message is intended for the unitiated…people who haven’t got a clue what verses he’s quoting, let alone their scriptural or historical context?
Incidentally…I’m an “atheist” with strong “sympathies” for Biblical values. I KNOW the demographic of the “lost sheep.” This video is pure intellectual gibberish in the exact same way an Elder thinking doing whatever he’s already doing is somehow helping a fatherless boy. The boy looks at that man and says, “That guy doesn’t even know I exist.” And…he’s right.
Evangelicals don’t want to witness to the lost flock because doing so requires them to devise a path FROM where that lost flock has wandered, back to where they’d like it to be. But to build that path, they have to literally build a path…and to them, the mere fact that a non-Christian has to grow at all is a stain. They don’t want to be in the trenches. They don’t want to get dirt in their nails. They want to preach from a podium. Incidentally…this is a huge contributing factor to the contempt much of the Moscow community feels for Christ Church. The secularists think they hate the message…and the only reason they think that is because the messengers present with intellectual bombast as though the secular world was a zoo safely sealed behind a glass enclosure.

This comment section has lost its mind, but it's a pretty solid representation of the modern schism in the Church.
I'm going to make this very simple. God is moving. If you haven't chosen to follow Him in all things, particularly with regards to the sanctity of life, you're going to have a bad time in the next few years. But don't worry, because His grace is sufficient for you and He'll be ready when you are - just don't tarry, because He sure won't. The modern Prophets have been speaking about this for years, so none of you should be surprised. Ohio is just the first of many States that are beginning to define the new, clear division in this country's next era. Get ready.
The modern expectations on abortion are blatantly binary: Either you're for the death of infants, or you're not. The hemming and hawing on "allowance" is just an excuse to feel better about yourselves at night. God makes it clear: "Better that they have a millstone tied around their neck and be thrown into the sea than do harm to any of my little ones." Be grateful that God is actually giving you a chance to decide on your right mind and isn't calling you immediately to task for it, because there's coming a time when there _won't_ be a chance anymore and the judgement will be obvious. That time is coming _soon._
This comment section is such a representation of the religious mindset in the great modern schism that it's almost hilarious to me to think that I used to be just like them. May God through his Prophets enlighten all of you as he did me, because boy oh boy is time getting short. 🤣

Could someone please help clarify something for me. In his video with Andrew Isker, Pastor Doug completely rejected the idea of condemning Jews for the evil things they’ve done and do, because they also do really good things, like become doctors and lawyers. This all being based on Romans 11 and therefore we should not condemn Jews because they’ll be grafted back into the olive tree and we, the gentiles, can be removed for condemning the Jews behavior.
Yet, we all agree that the church is very much to blame for the cultural decay that we are seeing today, despite all the good things that the church has done.
Are there two different standards for the church and the Jews? Christians and Jews? Gentiles and Jews? Why are we afraid to call one group out, but not the other?

The difference (one of the key differences) is that the Christian church is **called and commanded to** be salt and light, and to command us to repentance. That's part of the *purpose* of the Church. Jews are members of a (non-Christian) religion in its various denominations, or they are members of certain ancestral groups descended from the sons of Jacob, or (in a great many cases) both at once. But they're not (in the way Christians are) a single teleological monolith with a single moral purpose like that.

Not tithing to pay for the church building is preached as an uncheerful giver. When the church takes the church money and fights for unborn babies, helps the elderly and finds ways to reach the sinner not sitting in the church building, then maybe the church will bear fruit.

I don't think most people who are true Christians think a church is a building. A building is just a means, so we don't have to stand out in the cold and rain. The church, however, is a gathering together of believers to worship God, hear scripture, and fellowship with and support other believers--and who incidentally meet in a building. Granted, there are churches that fit your caricature but there are many that don't. when you go to church, you're doing more than just sitting in a building. It's critically important for believers to hear the word preached and have fellowship with other believers so they are equipped to go into the world and preach the gospel. Again, this incidentally happens in a building.

A story from the book of 1 Kings, where a prophet by the name of Elijah when he beheld 400 false prophets of the false object of worship called Baal said to them if you think you're God to be the answer then assemble yourselves and call me fire down from heaven; Elijah said to them likewise shall I do the same as the story goes the 400 false prophets of the false being made themselves a bunch of ruckus calling out to the lie they believed.
Elijah surely used scripture from the word of God the Old Testament or Old Covenant or Agreement and fire did fall from heaven.
The more you get right about God the more he shows up.
God is a spirit those that worship him must do so in spirit and in truth. John 4:24
Don't just have faith, have faith in God, and his word. There is surely a type of extreme unpleasantness already in the Earth, have you seen it, are you delivered from it?
Job 38:17 "Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?"
Job 38:33 "33 Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?"
As a child, I would have dreams in be in many nightmares where underground tentacle monsters could sense my slightest movement and impel me,
wars, dreams of persecution, the grim Reaper, things would get wild. I remember calling on the Old Testament name of God Jehovah, and I remember things
did not end well for me when I was being assaulted by a witch. However, ever since I was a child the name of Jesus has never failed me, when I began to call on his name
Even recently, a spider demon with a human face around the size a 42" TV was crawling on my wall when I awoke from my sleep.
I spoke the name of Jesus quite a few times and I attained Mercy unto myself, for that because Jesus has the authority for this reason.
John 3:35 " He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."
1 John 2:23 "Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also."
I believe that God cares for his creation and doesn't want to lose them, because I believed in Jesus and had the humility to honor his name many times throughout my life.
I attained mercy through the New Covenant, agreement, or Testament. Only parts of the old still apply. The old prepared place for the New.
I believe Love is many things, and is doing many things read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (KJV) and study the langauge of the time (Middle English) and do for yourself an order of operations properly like you would use in Algebra. A few things I believe Love does it when you matter greatly it is a kindness(: an act to preserve and help you), that never lies to you.
John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
John 1:14 "And the Word:λόγος(in ancient Greek) message, expression of God's ideas), was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
For if I read James 1:5 (KJV), do not leave out James 1:6,7, and 8 (KJV),
and while we at it live by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
If there are 18000+ religions in the world I know to whom I say go to save me trouble, the name and the ideas that I will confess as Lord to be serving of and to call my friend.
Proverbs 4:19 “The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.”
A concept of the word is the idea that is behind it or what should pop into your head by what the author is meaning. If you do not have the idea of the word correct you have a misconception and it changes the whole story.
Read the KJV, pray for wisdom, pray without ceasing: don't go a day without it.

A big portion of the "why" of how religion fell so badly here in the west, comes down to the western reformed church and other denominations likewise, being ashamed of having all of God. Just like with how a hypocritical housewife, gets married, and then on the wedding night and for the rest of the marriage, while the loving husband selflessly gives all of his love in servitude unto his wife, while the wife accepts only some of it while always rejecting him in the marriage bed, the husband still loves her no matter what and still helps her out as much as she will let him. But she is ashamed to receive all of him, and will only receive all of what she will let herself try and grasp, rather then letting go of her ego and truly loving him back in return, while the husband longs so much for her to receive the full measure of the marriage blessing when she can let herself accept all of him, as he is a gift from God unto her.
This is how the western reformed churches relationship to the Holy Ghost is. They will only accept Him, only so much so that they can go to heaven when they die and so that they can gain access to other things to consume them upon their own desires. They will only accept the receiving of Him, but being fully possessed by Him/filled by Him, they say, "no further, you'd better not start making me behave like those whacked out pentecostals". Except, the fact is, that even though those "`whacked out pentecostals" may have mishandled the things of the fullness of God, but at the same time, they have, from a pure heart, living in an imperfect reasoning, fulfilled more the will of God in desiring to have all of Him and be fully possessed by Him, than the reformed church, who has been taught to be opposed to such things.
The truth is, is that the church which is expanding and seeing the kingdom of God manifest as explained in the book of Acts, is the charismatic pentecostal church that is outside of the western church. This church is seeing the spiritual collapse of the Islamic religion and those who were once Islam, are now desiring to worship Jesus and they hate the bad government and they want Bibles and the like so that they can learn to worship the True and Living God. This is happening because they are being converted and filled with the Holy Ghost, as are places like south Africa, and people in Asia. Whereas in America, people debate about it.
The church in the west, specifically, needs to be filled with the Holy Ghost. It isn't enough to just receive Him. That will get us only so far, but the rest comes from humbling ourselves, and ignoring people who mess things up, and instead, open our hearts and soften our necks, so that we may be filled with Him..
    Something to consider

    • @steveareeno65
      @steveareeno65 10 месяцев назад

Sorry, but that's just a caricature of the reformed faith. We believe the Holy Spirit is in us and with us at all times, illuminating our minds to God's revelation and wisdom, guiding our conscience, directing our will, and sanctifying us. Saying that receiving the Holy Spirit (which means he indwells us) is not enough is getting dangerously close to saying that the Holy Spirit by himself is inadequate, as if in order for him to be effective we have to do our part. I couldn't disagree more.

    • @dominiclapinta8537
      @dominiclapinta8537 10 месяцев назад

@@steveareeno65 saying that the Holy Spirit is sanctifying us, is to go against what Jesus did. It is Christ Who Is made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification, He suffered outside the camp to sanctify us, by the which will we are sanctified, He has sanctified and perfected us forever. And if the Holy Ghost has indeed filled, then why isn't the reformed church, as a whole, reminding the rest of the body of Christ of what happened in the book of Acts. When you become filled with the Holy Ghost, then His ministry pours out of you. When this happens, then there isn't debate on whether or not there has been a cessation or that tongues is only a gift. All of the Holy Spirit work, even back to the first century, continues unhindered, an in all of, dare I say, unrefined looking glory.
Using a good marriage as a comparison... when a man, a husband, goes in unto a woman, a wife, and a good wife, who accepts all of him and even longs to experience all of him, no matter how messy the wedding night may become in the marriage bed having been undefiled, and now the sheets may need to be replaced after the consummation - so it is with the receiving of the Holy Ghost, and then the becoming filled with the Holy Ghost.
The western church has clearly not been filled, but has received the Holy Ghost. Even the disciples, before they were filled with the Holy Ghost, having received the Holy Ghost, were changed men and women. This is what I am getting at. The receiving of the Holy Ghost and the, being filled with the Holy Ghost, are two separate experiences. Alot of folk in the west are ashamed of, or in some cases, done want to be filled with the Holy Ghost. But, how can one say that they fully love Him, if they will not want to have all of Him, and even, the parts that the mainstream western church disapproves of, and those parts are the "messy" parts.
It is these "messy" parts, that are the reason why God has been raising up the pentecostal church. God has been raising up men and women, who are not content with the baptism of John(repentance), but want the whole package(baptism of Holy Spirit and fire). And these are not the same single baptism, but 2 baptisms. That's what the Book shows us.
And what I am getting at is best demonstrated with the massive conversion of souls, outside America to knowing the True and Living Jesus Christ, while the western church dwindles, and folk deconstruct and join the alphabet colors church. Which church is growing and leading folks the most, out of darkness and the power of satan? Not the western reformed church, although there will always be a remnant of believers who are being used by God and who love Him.
The church that is having the greatest impact upon the world, is the charismatic pentecostal church. Because, they aren't just receiving the Holy Ghost, but they are being filled with Him. And they are ruined for Him because they can hear God's voice and can know Him like how the apostle Paul did. That is greater than an infinite number of confessions and institutes of the Christian religion. It is greater than an endless field of tulips and doctrinal thesis.
