Thank you, this is a very timely address. One more thing needs to be said to God's announcement,"this is my beloved son".... It was said at the beginning of Christ's ministry, before any of His mighty works or His enduring the cross, the love was pure and unconditional.
@@xXEliminatorXx99 Authority isn't earned. One of the serious problems today is that most men have had their authority removed from them but they are still expected to work hard and not complain. This leads to frustration. You either have authority (because it was given to you) or you do not have it. Those who tell you to be responsible are either in authority over you already or they desire you to be their servant.
@@Aaron-mp9sy I agree with you. Both comments are correct in their own respect. Yes men should be responsible with the little things to show that they are fit to lead which will earn respect. As well as living by the authority of Christ. However the women needs to know how to humble herself to allow the man to be in the authoritative role. Because even if you are perfect, if she doesn’t yield there will still remain chaos and frustration. That then requires setting boundaries from my experience.
I think you guys are missing the point. Think of it in terms of grace versus works. Authority is a gift that comes from God. Responsibility is works. You do not earn your authority by being responsible just like you do not earn your salvation. Your responsibility is a by product of your authority just like your good works are a by product of your salvation.
You don't get much more masculine than St Bernard of Clairvaux-undertaking the tough Cistercian life, establishing a leading monastic centre, having leading responsibilities in Church and politics. That was not impeded by his devotional life of the soul's submission to Christ in relation to the allegories of the Song of Songs.
MINDBLOWING. That exposition on the Lord's prayer, never heard it explained that way before. Thanks Pastor Doug.
"Well pleased is an alien concept to many of us" Doug you've been reading my diary again. Now I have to find a new hiding place for it.
I will listen to this fine talk many more times. God being my helper.
@Jacinto Acebedo obvious scam is obvious.

Got a chuckle out of youtube putting an ad for women's cosmetics at the beginning of this video. :)
I disagree with the “build it and they will come” mentality. Responsibility flows from authority not the other way around.
How do you get authority in the first place ?
By being responsible with the minor things.
Build it and they will come is more true than ever before.

@@kratosSOZ what do you mean by setting boundaries?
