I swear, Bridget Jones meets gardening! 😂 Found your channel today and subscribed. Did that bottle have vodka in? Please don't change, you've cheered me up this afternoon. Lockdown in a flat sucks but I've got cucumbers dangling in my bedroom window, give the neighbours something to look at. Stay safe and keep laughing hun x
The bottles work as mini greenhouses and deter wildlife from eating your seedlings/seeds. Just chop off the bottoms of the bottles and put over the seed/plant. Great pond! Hope you get lots of frogs soon!
Digging in the mud, pond liner, some rocks and a few buckets of water, and there we have it. One happy Emma and a water hole for her local friendly fox. Nice days work if I’ve ever seen it.
Emma "may e she looking at my plot and thinking wtf are her bottles" I nearly gave my cat a heart attack busting put laughing at that comment Iv had to pause the video my ribs hurt from laughing so hard X
Well done Emma. You did a great job again. I would move the compost bin now though as it will leach into the pond and poison it. Will be a great wildlife area
Hi Emma you done a good job there with with that wild life pond , your children and husband will be really proud of you when they see it , stay safe 👍😊😊👍
I am feeling anxious all the time, and you are right, going to the allotment really helps to calm me down. The bottle act like mini cloches over seedlings and protect them from mice and rabbits eating them before they can get established. You might want 5o think about how much room you will need to get the compost out of your compost bin once the wildlife area is established. Loving your channel !
Hi Emma, I have just been told I can take on an allotment in November so have been watching a lot of allotment videos and came across yours. I am watching your diary from start and looking forward to what your plot will look like as I get through them. I am laughing out loud all the time and love your sense of humour. Love your pond and hope to have one on mine :) Your allotment neighbour is missing out on a good chat with a lovely person.
Hi Emma, love your vlogs! The best plants for the pond are an oxygenator - hornwort - and a marginal - brooklime - which will attract newts, dragonflies, frogs and birds. Your pond loosk great!
I would suggest you completely cover the plastic above ground as your plastic is UV degradable. I noticed the sides are a bit higher than the surrounding ground, well done, that will prevent the liner floating up if the water table gets high. Of course if you are in a hole .
Hello from Ontario Canada I agree 100% garden therapy for mental health! Who cares about the neighbours some people just wired different in their brain lol anyways fabulous wildlife begging think the pond is fine but I’m a newbie soolast year I found on the curb a child’s plastic pool no holes still some work to do as I just kinda pluncked it in lol but I did get a lot of insects and birds etc so it worked and once it’s put in better?should attract more going to make my own bug havens with bits and pieces I have collected also! Just a thought about your current watering situation could you perhaps get some reusable containers and cart them in the wheelbarrow back and forth? Take care 🐝
Ah, I had an old kids paddling pool which I dug into the ground in my last garden and I had frogs in there and everything! Not sure it really matters if it's all proper or not, as long as it works! I'm going to get some water containers to collect rain water, yes. Will be much easier! x
Good evening Emma I hope your safe and well? Normal service has resumed swearing and buggers a plenty hope you wheel is holding up you really needed some sand in before the ground sheet to stop stones piercing the plastic. I am totally impressed you have truly found your mantra can you come make me one please? Happy growing bottles take care keep safe.
Oh god I know, I think I swear more when I'm anxious and these are anxious times, you know! I did read about the sand but I cleared the area pretty well so fingers crossed it's ok.
Tut tut Emma you said fuck 4 times so far pmsl 🤣I've gone into self isolation for 14 days so lots of time to watch you tube haha ..cracking job of wild life pond mate you done bloody well Emma
I know, I'm so sorry about the swearing! I could cut it all out, but it is just me being me to be honest and I figured if people don't like it, then I'm probably just not for them! Good luck on isolation. We're on lock down now so not sure if I'll get back there!x

Lovely little pond. Can't wait to see all those lovely critters moving in.
Fingers crossed! x

Haha! I make myself laugh sometimes too as I don't realise what I'm saying until I come to edit it later! x
Breath of fresh air, love your channel.
Thank you x

Yes, will do! x
UK Here We Grow Tony, it will have to leach up hill as the sides are higher and the liner is impermeable. I hope are you
Thank you for the break from all this stress! 😘 The pond looks great!
Thanks lovely. x
Lovely pond Emma. Hope you have lots of frogs and toads laying their spawn so that you will have lots of lovely tadpoles😘
Oh I would LOVE that! Also, was kind of hoping to attract some hedgehogs and make a little house for them. Hedgehog hotel!! x
Hi Emma you done a good job there with with that wild life pond , your children and husband will be really proud of you when they see it , stay safe 👍😊😊👍
Thanks. They were not as impressed as I thought. My son said, why is there a big puddle in your plot? Haha! x

Yes, I think I'll have to move the compost bin actually. And I'm anxious all the time at the moment, hence the increase in swearing! x
@@emmasallotmentdiaries I don't mind you swearing if it helps!

.
I was going to say stop digging. A bit of turf would cover the edges. You already have a wildlife area AKA brambles.
Oh good! I didnt even think of those points! I'll be covering it all as best I can x
Thanks Emma. Not having a good time here. But you made me spit my drink out laughing in the first 30 seconds of the video. Cheers👍
Ha! Glad I made you laugh x
