Oh Malcolm you did make me laugh filling the pond and I could also here my parents voices saying ‘a little bit of dirt never hurt anyone’ 😆. An absolute triumph of a days work, well done you, I can see it’s going to look grand all dressed up with your water lily and other plants, a perfect wildlife home!
Hello Malcolm, What a cracking job you've made of that pond, It will look fantastic when it's planted & matured looking out over that wonderful scenery you have there at your allotment, I must admit I tittered when you were sucking on the water pipe 😁 Thanks for the pond update video.
Ohhhh you didn't take the plug out 🤭😅 it looks amazing !!!!!!!! I would love to find space for one at my allotment. I look forward to seeing what you plant around the edges. 🥰
Congratulations on finishing the pond. It looks very nice. I will miss you walking by the hole filled with muddy water saying, "I guess I won't be getting to the pond today."
Hip-hip hooray for Mr k, you got there finally. It's been a long running joke for us here, enjoy planting your pond and rockery and then the magical wildlife after. The canal here in Lancashire bubbled when you sucked on that mucky pipe.! Happy birthday soon, are you the beginning or the end of the zodiac. Hi
Laughing a lot at the end of this one. Really enjoyable as always Malcolm. I love the rockery you've created for this - looks amazing. I'm super jealous and want to make a nice pond on our allotment at some point! I'm sure you've done your research and know what you're doing, but if you're after some pointers, the RSPB have some of the best info on making wildlife ponds out there which you can find easily. There's lots of the usual stuff about making sure there's slopes so that things can escape, but also some other good stuff that might help the design for amphibians, dragonflies and invertebrates!
I can't believe it is done at last!!!! I think this has got to be amongst one of your best videos... pure genius. I am so looking forward to seeing the pond area blossom through the spring and summer. Truly heroic!
Thanks Izzy, it was a lot of fun and quite a big learning curve....got there in the end.....looking forward to the frogs moving in now....take care. Malc
Hi Dorinda , you are right of course , the best thing that came out of my mistake was the comedy of the moment......its great to laugh....take care Malc
Hi Davao , just select yourself an area on the ground and box it in with whatever you can, pallets are ideal.then its about committing to add green waste and brown waste as frequently as you possibly can……..give it time and compost will be the end result ……hope that helps Malc

If you fill the hose with water first, then plug it with your thumb, let go wen you are where you want the water. Much easier than sucking.
