  • A delivery day today and the bins are shrinking, every time I fill them I think that I won't have any room left but I always do. Suggestions for the IBC tanks were plentiful and they are now in place. Final adjustments and then I am going to stress test them. The Kale is looking fine but the purple sprouting broccoli is in a dreadful state. The tanks fill and I assess them. The tunnel get an algae removal session and I explain what I use and how I go about it. With a bit of covering up I am ready to go and get the job done in no time.
    UK Allotments are the ideal place to learn how to grow fruit and vegetables. My allotment is a no dig allotment and I share how to grow vegetables and how to prepare a no dig garden. If you are growing in a backyard garden or homestead and you want some tips on how to grow vegetables I hope my channel has something to offer. Allotment ideas are always worth sharing and I am happy to share my gardening ideas and failures so that we can all learn to grow vegetables together. I also learn on the allotment nearly every time I am there and learning how to grow in a Polytunnel or greenhouse can be a fun an exciting experience too. If you are one of the many allotment beginners or thousands of people growing in your garden for the first time then join me growing on Allotments For Fun and food and get some allotment ideas.

    I’ve just caught up to this episode where you talk about pot storage under the water tanks! Great minds, after I mentioned thinking much the same as yourself in your previous episode 😆 I chuckled.

      Thats a full load Richard, if you can do it over a few days that would be ideal. I have always found a long handled tool is best for moving large loads. It’s tempting to overfill the barrow so take care. Sounds like you come from a great gardening heritage , I am sure you will have it well under control…..Malc

    Heh, I contacted Algon last year and explained they should sponsor you! They clearly didn't care what I had to say about it. Regardless, always good to hear you opine on products, though, as you give a fair assessment.

    You can maximize space by stacking the water totes. And the water barrels can be stacked on a shelf if necessary.

    If you look at ther safety data sheet, Algon is 18% Ethanoic acid aka Acetic acid, aka vinegar, with 0.2% Alkylpolyglycoside, a surfactant made from starch & fat, aka detergent, so basically about a bottle of vinegar with a cap full of organic washing power in a gallon jug, fill with water, then follow the same dilution rate. £13 for a bottle of vinegar with a splash of detergent!!

    • @MalcolmKingswell
      @MalcolmKingswell  Год назад +1

    Hi Malcom,
    I admire your determination and bravery in keeping working so hard ,even with the bad weather!!
    I have a question for you:
    Does your cavallo nero suffer with the caterpillar in spring and summer? Or do you cover them?
    Many thanks in advance ☺️!!

    • @MalcolmKingswell

    Keep it up Malcolm, Mr neat n tidy!
    I'm curious - Would you happen to know what type of straw is in your magnificent manure collection? I have a good supply but it's mostly just manure picked from the field, hardly any straw in it, so I'm thinking of adding some if I can get the right stuff. Thanks

    Just wondering why you didn't bring your hose thru the outside of your fence from your neighbor? if she is across from you, I would think that it would have been easier than running the hose thru your garden area, etc.... The same thing with the ice. It is going to melt, etc, why not just throw it across the fence? It's not littering, besides all of the evidence will melt. lol I like your water tank setup. That looks like the best option to me, too.
