    Magic Johnson was not only the greatest point guard ever, he was the greatest leader of any team sports. There is no team that he was ever on from high school to the dream team where it was not obvious that he was the leader. If you ask any laker that ever played with him, they sing his praises and would follow him gladly. People think that he was flashy, but his best attribute was that he was consistent. He made himself into a 90 percent ft shooter and a good outside shooter. He was consistent in everything he did, he was as consistent in making the routine plays as he was making the spectacular plays. He knew his own team's strengths and weaknesses as well as the oponents, and he knew exactly how to get the best out of each of his teammates.

    80's and 90's basketball is so dang fun and competitive. I see a lot of good stuff in modern clips, but I also see a lot of guys standing around after a shot, rather than getting into rebound position, and yeah, they know that most of those wide open shots are gonna go in, but you're still supposed to be ready if they don't.

      no, sorry he is just known for his flashy passing and dribbles, but he was a bad scorer, and didn't even average high enough APG. His highest was 8.3 apg one season. I can see why he is a favorite, because the man made insane plays in the nba and probably helped revolutionize modern day passing as well. But sorry i wouldn't even put him in my Top 20 either...

      ***** Ud take Hakeem over Wilt? Hilarious. Wilt made all defensive 1st team his last two years in the league on bad knees. Most dominant and versatile player ever holds bulk of scoring records and is top 5 in triple doubles and led league in rebounding 11 times.

    • @coltonw2552
      @coltonw2552 9 лет назад

      ***** There were 25 centers in the league that were atleast 6 11 or above in Wilts time playing in Nba 12 of them were 7 footers. Since youre such a lazy moron who cant research nothing. Theres nothing Shaq or Hakeem do better than Wilt. Hes superior physically and his Iq was even better. Offensively more diverse and potent and defensively he won all defensive 1st team his final two years in the league on bad knees that about says it all. Hakeem wasnt 7 foot neither he was like 6 10 so not sure why youre making height an argument here but i smashed it anyway.

    • @coltonw2552
      @coltonw2552 9 лет назад +1

      ***** Once again u prove youre a jackass. Shaq did not have better post moves than Wilt nor was Hakeem a better shotblocker. Wilt would triple Hakeems shotblock total theres counts of ppl keeping track of Wilts blocks in games and the count often got up to 20. Wilt had a 500 pound benchpress and could run a 4.6 40 yard dash. Shaq could only run that in 5.8 seconds. Shaq benefitted from the rule changes before rule changes u had much smaller men like Dennis Rodman be able to push him out of position in the post in 96 conference finals where he frustrated the shit out of Shaq. Reason for that was you could use your forearm in the lowpost they eliminated that in 1997 also in time Shaq was winning championships there were virtually no centers at all besides Mutombo. Shaq would need an oxygen tank to keep up with Wilt for one and Hakeem would get manhandled. Wilt far to smart for Shaq and iq little more equal with Hakeem but the size and strength just too much. Wilt dominated under much tougher rules as well. All the rule changes took effect in the mid to late 90s which escalated to the soft shit we see today. Shove your weak ass opinions up your ass and quit bothering me with this. The counting of championships is the most useless argument of all. Wilt is top 5 in triple doubles would be higher if they counted blocks back then. Wilt also had to go up against hall of fame teams what hall of fame team did Shaq play against in his threepeat? Exactly. Goodbye now. Btw Wilt has 2 rings not 1 and won finals mvp near end of his career what was Shaq doing in his next finals? Riding D wades coat tails averaging 15 and 9 Wilt averaged 25 and 25 . Kids really need to research before they talk.

    These idiot millenials that say that today's players were better than in Magic's era, SMH. You have about four guys that can post up today. No one consistently makes a mid range jumper. 80 percent of team's can't run a proper fast break to save their lives and the fundamentals are so off, that anyone who CAN is immediately seen as an All-Star caliber player. Of course guys are more athletic now...you SHOULD be. But the better product...from fewer teams (meaning less dilution) to better overall BASKETBALL skills (not just athleticism)...today's game can't hold a candle to the 80's. You always talk about the modern advantages...well I'd love to see LeBron handle five games in seven nights while flying commercial without modern equipment. Stop it. I'll see 10 MJ's before I ever see another Magic. I'll see 30 LeBron's before I ever see another Magic. The genius of his game was that at 20, he could've been a top 3 player in the league...he was great coming out of college. But he deferred to Kareem and elevated the play of Wilkes, Worthy, Scott, AC Green, Rambis, Cooper, and even Vlade Divac to ALWAYS be a championship contender. That's the thing you idiot kids don't understand...the game is deeper than some stats you can quote off of Basketball Reference. And just because someone like Giannis Antentoukempo (sp?) is a crazy athlete...that doesn't mean he's a better basketball player. Stop it.

    @BigTimePride Totally agree, those 2 guys single handedly took the passing game to another level, I love the whole power game, but there still is little sweeter in my memory than Magic attacking the hoop 3 v 2, because you can be near on certain that the ball is going to end up in the right guys hands, and that inspires runners, because they know he's totally selfless with the basketball. Definitely 2 genuine hall of famers.
