You convinced me into your way of thinking. If this was a court case you just explained it in a way that won you the argument. But what did the NBA promise the Mavs in secret compensation. There had to of been something. Maybe gaining help in moving to Las Vegas.
The conspiracy is basically Mavs ownership is tanking the team because their gamble legalization bid is not going to happen so they will blackmail local and state government into passing the bill in 2026 or they will move the Mavs to Vegas. The NBA will support relocating a poor performing team, something hard to achieve with Luka.
I said it above... The League will reward the MAVS with another title in the next two years and maybe give them another key players in the next months to help them win a chip. The move here is to keep the Lakers relevant and its viewership.
Bruh I’m convinced they were all on something. Like the mavs front office all went on some ayahuasca hippy trip and thought they made the biggest brain move in their lives 😅😂
Mavericks will become loser team cause you cannot constantly reshuffle the team line-up and expect better results just because of players' promising aggregate statistics on paper. The winnig team makes it not because of dryly statistics yet becasue of team spirit, loyalty, clear vision and supportive fans. With this move they've destroyed it all over night. Just unfathomable insanity!
Wayne Gretzky was traded to the Kings after winning 4 Stanley Cups with the Edmonton Oilers. He was 27 years old at the time & they had just won the 4rth Cup that spring. I know Luka has yet to win his first Larry but THIS trade was almost as bad as that one...
NBA and adam silver really want Lakers to be relevant and now they are going to build around Luka, Lebron is going to retire. If you compare the stats Lakers get a lot of shady free throws and thats all the time, everyone knows that.
this is the best take on this situation so far. had me laughing at points. the trade doesn't make any sense, that is very clear. time will tell on this. just hope i'm around once the full story comes out.
Blows my mind no one is talking about this. It's so godamn obvious. This is just the pattern. NBA hands the Lakers Ws to save the ratings. And of course they didn't even get both picks. That's their future and the league is gonna protect it.
This trade is the most idiotic trade and something smells fishy. They pissed off the fanbase and managed to smear their brand in the middle of the night
The more I think about it the more this conspiracy theory makes complete sense. The NBA ratings are tanking bc of the 3 point circus but instead of fixing the product they pluck the player with the biggest draw and strategically get him to LA the mecca of big market FOR RATINGS! Nico could very well be simply a puppet by the high up NBA Mob who forced him to make this move. No single man in an organization could have the power to make such a move on his own. This was pushed on him by the NBA bc in their eyes Luka should be in a big market team to help ratings not in Dallas. So all smaller market teams are worthless to the NBA and are all in huge danger. Anyone with any integrity should be done with the NBA after this FOREVER. #boycottnba
I keep saying this is more than ratings and Mavs being cheap. This feels like The NBA is saying that Luka on the Mavs and contending is bad for the product. They never truly gave him his respect to begin with similar to Jokic. This move proves that all small market teams will stay small and they'll make sure of it..
It's obvious that Nico is a corrupt double agent, the point here is that Luka Doncic was stolen because the Lakers have wanted Luka for years. I've noticed over the years that Luka has a huge fan base among Lakers fans and it's no secret that LeBron James himself was a Luka fan, so there must be something to it. The Lakers always get what they want one way or another.
At the risk of going down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole: 1. Luka pissed someone off in the higher ups sooo badly, this had to happen 2. Someone from LA blackmailed the Mavs with something and forced the trade 3. Both LA and Mavs were held at gunpoint to force this trade 😂 Not literally, but someone had dirt on them which implies there are bigger stuff going on in the background that goes beyond saving your franchise players or your team.
He’s working for LA. How is he allowed to still breathe????? 😡😡😡 How is one man allowed to single handedly make such a move to destroy a franchise??????
100% agree that there must be something else behind this - business and league politics, most likely. The reasons they gave for trading Luka can be considered legitimate, but even then, they accepted way too little in return for it not to be suspicious. As someone who lived in Europe for a significant amount of time, Luka is a huge deal there and such a trade in the European leagues would've shocked everyone.
There's even better ones going in depth about the real culprits, the new Mavs owners. Watch Andy Hoops' and Jason Whitlock's latest video and spread the word!
As a 57 yr old, born and raised Dallas Texan and life long Mavs fan this was EXACTLY what I knew happened and the why. No sane and honest person with a median of Basketball knowledge and decades of time, money and emotional involvement as a die hard fan can not see this for what it is. You nailed it to a tee bro 👏 👏
So does this mean that nba fans are just more lakers fans. The knicks are contenders now and ratings are still low. Maybe nba ratings are low because there’s just so much other things to watch like binging shows, social media content (like this), other sports, movies, etc.
The question everybody needs to ask is why the hell does a team care about winning championships? IT'S THE FANS. It's not like you get a billion-dollar bonus for winning a title. You chase titles because it increases your fan base. The Mavericks already had all the fans. And now they lost them. The deal makes no sense from the Mavericks' standpoint. But it makes all the sense from a league-wide perspective.
The big picture. The Addelsons lost the Gambling initiative. They don't care about Dallas, they care about gambling. Now they will slowly dismantle the team and threaten to leave Dallas and move to Vegas if Texas doesn't legalize gambling next year. If not, they move the team to Vegas. There has to be a backroom deal with the Addlesons and NBA. As a result, the Lakers get a star which is good for the NBA and the Addelsons have leverage. Allow gambling or we move to Vegas. Contingent of course of them knowing that the NBA will support their move.
DKM, you’ve parsed this so thoroughly, thank you. Yours is one of the few takes that makes sense to me. I keep scratching my head because this trade is so suspect. Maybe the league is in more trouble than we realize and this is a desperation move. Anything to boost rating and revive interest in the NBA. But, boy, is it a kick in the gut to Mav’s fans.
@@friendlyjingle1probably it might because The Adelsons voted Trump in the last election and Texas is a red state and the Trump Co. Also have casino business before just like them.
Started really watching basketball the year Luka got drafted, grew to love the Dallas mentality and the team/city because Luka was on it, needless to say I can't watch or support that team anymore, Mark Cuban was great, these new owners completely ruined it, I dont even like the lakers and really dont like Lebron, but I'll be watching them now.
@ point is mavericks are no longer contenders and the owners are basically trying to Oakland As their way out of Dallas for Vegas this team won’t compete for anything especially after a big change like this klay and kyrie came to play with Luka that’s gone and AD prolly didn’t want to go there Kidd is pissed over this trade blindsiding him it’ll be hard to imagine this team being good
Yep, you are correct sir. The teams you mentioned about not trading their superstars were spot on too. They pushed the panic button. If their goal was to build more interest in the league, it definitely worked.

I said the same thing. This was a politic move. NOW TO MAKE THIS DEAL A PASS - The Mavs will become CHAMPIONS in the next two years. This is the plan. This is the deal. What a shame.
This was my first thought as well. Adam Silver went to the Mavs and told them it’s happening and there’s nothing they can do about it. Poor Mavs fans, I’m truly sorry.
As a longtime lakers fan, I remember back in the day when they beat the Sacramento Kings en route to the finals in 2002, if I remember correctly, they got what seemed like a bad call in their favor, and then they won, but I just didn't have the same joy and fervor as before. Then when the Chris Paul trade was vetoed and that book came about by that former ref who basically said the league was to a degree fixed, it felt like there is an aspect of pro wrestling to the NBA and ever since then I just can't get into it as much.
I hate it when people distort or leave out important parts of a quote. The phrase is "offense wins games, defence wins championships". Offense is important, too. All great offensive teams that won had good defence and most great defensive teams that won had a good offence. While AD is without a doubt much better defensively he is neither even remotely as good a scorer especially from beyond the arc which means a lot less spacing for the Mavs and for himself but he is not even remotely the playmaker that Luka is and I sincerely doubt that Kyrie can fill that role to nearly the same degree as Luka has. Furthermore even with Luka and Kyrie the Mavs struggled getting their offence running whenever Luka was sitting. When Kyrie is sitting who will take over playmaking responsibility?
About the NBA rates, i think just in US that they are that low, for what i've been seen the market for other countries has grown, but maybe not enough to make for the US loss
I grew up adoring this team, as they were born 6 months after me. All my life I have followed and loved the Mavericks, bought their jerseys, suffered through the 90's at Reunion Arena when you could get two seats, two drinks, and two hotdogs for $20 to watch the worst team in the league. This makes me so angry that I'm not sure I can come back. I'm legitimately infuriated at this violent rape of our sports culture.
Great video DKM, I'm of two minds on the trade, I do agree with you that it's a mighty suspicious trade and beyond Davis and Christie the fact they didn't even have to give up their second 1rst round pick is outright ridiculous as you have to image that if it was a dealbreaker the Lakers would have conceded it. The only explanation for it coincides with your theory as that pick has much significance in that it's the Lakers only way to improve at the deadline this year and was therefore necessary to form an acceptably marketable team around Luka, it wouldn't surprise me if they acquired Myles Turner in the next 48 hours with it. On the other hand, did you see Lukas injury? It was not a hard play at all, it was a simple jab step and it completely incapacitated him for several weeks, maybe he truly is damaged goods and his conditioning is going to be a huge problem in the not so distant future. I'm old enough to have seen 'the next big thing' many a times before and they all fall sooner than everyone anticipates (except for Lebron of course) the athletic window is very small and playing at the highest level can be taken in one second by an injury of any kind it happens time and again. I personally think Luka will still be great for a few more seaons but it wouldn't surprise me at all if a 35 year old Anthony Davis is better than Luka at 29-30, also Max Christie is being completely overlooked in this trade he is an impressive 2 way player at 21 yrs old so this really might swing in Dallas favour especially for this season, time will tell.
I unfollowed the Mavs Yesterday until I have to take a U Turn and find out that Luka got traded to the lakers, but as a Magics fan i hope the Orlando Magic GM doesn’t do this to Franz & Paolo and trade them for a Jagerschnitzel and Beer, Or else we will have consequences
I've lived in both LA and Dallas and the fan support doesn't even compare. I wouldn't be surprised if Luka silently wanted to be a Laker all along. I would even take a pay cut to leave Dallas for Los Angeles, any day!!!
You know what's crazy on top of crazy? Dallas didn't give LA just Luka, they threw in another player too. To sweeten the deal, I guess? As if Luka frigging Doncic wasn't quite cutting it so they had to go "Fine, fine, we'll give you Kleba too, ok?"
There’s rumors that nico didn’t like luka . Then there theories about Lukas injury being career altering, and then there’s a theory that goes with the rumors which is he did all this to get Jimmy butler
Adam "Slimy Snake" Silver 100% made this happen to increase NBA's ratings and viewership to make sure Lakers have the biggest star with them who is internationally well known. Lakers have always gotten huge favors from the NBA apart from the whole Chris Paul trade.
Trading Luka Doncic to the Lakers for a guy who's missed 1/3 of his career games from injury, and doing so without informing the league that he was available is the basketball equivalent of divorcing your wife, mother of your children; trading in a solid 9.5 for a mail order bride you think is a 10.
In the presser w/ Nico Harrison, JKidd looks like he was just informed his parents had been killed in a plane crash. I live in MN, and we're still getting over the KAT trade. People ask "Why didn't they trade Rudy?" Well certainly, KAT was/is a much more "tradeable asset", and there's no way they could have kept KAT, Ant and Rudy without brutal cap hits. But this trade is more like if the Wolves traded Ant. A complete nonstarter. Unless maybe they'd been offered Luka....
The NBA is learning why big market teams like the Lakers could buy championships if there wasnt a salary cap. It’s because it would take four or five small markets combined to match their fan base. The reason why sports shows talk about the Lakers constantly isn’t because they love the Lakers, it’s because ratings pay their bills. Of course viewership is going to decline drastically if the big market teams don’t feel like they have a legitimate shot
Nico Harrison turned me from a lifelong Mavs fan to being a Spurs fan in less than 72 hours

I just laughed like this has to be a joke. Someone lost a bet on the Mavs
The least they can do is make it believable if they actually added AR or hachimura then added more picks it wouldve been so much more believable
And the Finals were a complete joke, a total slaughter. Mavs were not competitive.
Luka just bought a 15 million dollar house so yea he was there for the long haul 😢
Dallas is a top 4 market.
Nope, im staying watching to see how Luka plays with Lebron and how AD will fit into Dallas playing with Kyrie.
At the risk of going down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole:
1. Luka pissed someone off in the higher ups sooo badly, this had to happen
2. Someone from LA blackmailed the Mavs with something and forced the trade
3. Both LA and Mavs were held at gunpoint to force this trade 😂 Not literally, but someone had dirt on them which implies there are bigger stuff going on in the background that goes beyond saving your franchise players or your team.
This is the change Adam Silver was talking about
well, it definitely seems to have gotten people talking
Now imagine NBA rigging the system and trading Jokic to LA.
LMAOOOOOOOOO
He’s working for LA. How is he allowed to still breathe????? 😡😡😡 How is one man allowed to single handedly make such a move to destroy a franchise??????
The NBA stole our player i will never watch AGAIN!!!😢
Dallas fans should boycott until the GM is fired
Luka will be the new face of the Lakers and LBJ will be traded to some team that wants a 40-year old player.
It the future
Luka makes defenses look like a bunch of kids.
Luka makes offenses look like a bunc of Lukas.
Yep, you nailed it, it's to save the NBA dipped ratings, definitely Adam Silver is behind this
100% agree that there must be something else behind this - business and league politics, most likely. The reasons they gave for trading Luka can be considered legitimate, but even then, they accepted way too little in return for it not to be suspicious. As someone who lived in Europe for a significant amount of time, Luka is a huge deal there and such a trade in the European leagues would've shocked everyone.
If its a ratings thing tell everyone to play like Lamelo😂😂ill watch
Thank you DKM. Your explanation for the trade is the only one that makes sense.
Not the only one.
Watch Andy Hoops' and Jason Whitlock's latest video and spread the word!
This is the best explanation for the trade I have seen or heard.
There's even better ones going in depth about the real culprits, the new Mavs owners.
Watch Andy Hoops' and Jason Whitlock's latest video and spread the word!
@ Many thanks! Those videos are both excellent.
@@2moke2creen Never ever watching a Jason Whitlock video
NBA Rigged
Nico Harrison is the sacrifice, pretty sure he got a lot of cash under the table from this, 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
As a 57 yr old, born and raised Dallas Texan and life long Mavs fan this was EXACTLY what I knew happened and the why.
Dallas is a large market. Not a medium market. The 4th largest market in the country to be exact.
Im at the point i think this was an illumanati humiliation ritual on Jason Kidd yall see him at the press confrence?
The Adelson family w/ casinos in Vegas, betrayed their own city, their own franchise, their own fans and their own team. It's disgraceful.
Facts. It's the real truth.
Their city is Las Vegas. They don't care about Texas unless Texas legalizes gambling.
Mavericks reportedly reached out to Milwaukee to swap Luka for Giannis and GM Horst hung the phone up on him.
can't wait for lebron to retire and for his legacy to be completely ruined with hindsight evaluation. will be delicious.
AD has actually been really healthy as of late, I wouldn't be surprised if the Mavericks win the championship, they look scary rn
Wouldn't matter if it isn't with Luka...
Did u watch the video the mavericks are cooked
@@theoperry3236 Couldn't get to the halfway mark of the video with how annoying this dude's voice is
@ point is mavericks are no longer contenders and the owners are basically trying to Oakland As their way out of Dallas for Vegas this team won’t compete for anything especially after a big change like this klay and kyrie came to play with Luka that’s gone and AD prolly didn’t want to go there Kidd is pissed over this trade blindsiding him it’ll be hard to imagine this team being good
Yep, you are correct sir. The teams you mentioned about not trading their superstars were spot on too. They pushed the panic button. If their goal was to build more interest in the league, it definitely worked.
NBA is run by LeBalco his refs and his LeKlucth from great product turned it to a garbage
Mavs will be awarded a championship this year or next..😊
Blessings from Taiwan 🇹🇼 🥳
This is my 1st time watching your video. 🥇 I like your insights and you are the 2nd RUclipsr talking about it's from the owners and NBA office. 🥈 I totally agree with you 👍 💯 👏
No matter what, I am a LAKERS FAN so I am SUPER HAPPY about this trade....Rob just "rob" the Mavs 😂😜
Luka is the NEW MAGIC to run the Lakeshow 🏆🥳
Jesus loves everyone 😇 🥰
Luka should just take a year off to really rub it in everyone’s face. 😅
The heist of the century.
The lakers trade for pau🤔that was collusion of a trade as well
@@joshuaharris53yes but Pau Gasol is no near to Luka Doncic, not meaning Pau Gasol is bad by any means I want to announce
@ Yeah but it’s a trade that caught everyone off guard because they didn’t know that he was on the market
I've seen this before. Gasol got sent to LA for nothing so the Lakers could win championships. That's why I always cheer against them
It wont happen in 2k because "jordan hobson" isnt as stupid of a gm as Nico is in real life🤯
😂😂😂
As a longtime lakers fan, I remember back in the day when they beat the Sacramento Kings en route to the finals in 2002, if I remember correctly, they got what seemed like a bad call in their favor, and then they won, but I just didn't have the same joy and fervor as before. Then when the Chris Paul trade was vetoed and that book came about by that former ref who basically said the league was to a degree fixed, it felt like there is an aspect of pro wrestling to the NBA and ever since then I just can't get into it as much.
If you believe Luka didnt know prior to the trade, I have a bridge in Queens to sell you.
Being a Luka fan and not a mavs fan, It feels so natural to root for the lakers and hate the mavs
I unfollowed the Mavs Yesterday until I have to take a U Turn and find out that Luka got traded to the lakers, but as a Magics fan i hope the Orlando Magic GM doesn’t do this to Franz & Paolo and trade them for a Jagerschnitzel and Beer, Or else we will have consequences
we’re seeing what “Deus Ex Machina” means irl fr 🤦🏾♂️💀
I've lived in both LA and Dallas and the fan support doesn't even compare. I wouldn't be surprised if Luka silently wanted to be a Laker all along. I would even take a pay cut to leave Dallas for Los Angeles, any day!!!
This makes so much sense that I’m afraid they’re gonna try it to take it down.
Dkm knows more basketball than any American.
He will hate living in woke LA…
Great vídeo, great analices!!
In my opinion is money wise, they didnt want to pay him that much next year. Maybe in the background is even moving Mavs from Dallas to Las Vegas.
Luka Doncic is 25 going on 65 years old. He's been playing for so long and his body isn't built like Lebron's, the kid won't last.
Great video...
Finding out real reasons...
Not some non-existing making sense out of this with a who wins the trade or how Luka is not bearable
I agree, and the lakers are winning the finals this year.
There’s rumors that nico didn’t like luka . Then there theories about Lukas injury being career altering, and then there’s a theory that goes with the rumors which is he did all this to get Jimmy butler
Nico's wife was calling Luka Nico Dončić while they were going at it.
Mavs fans feel like all they are rooting for now is laundry.
Adam silver was in the building during the Mavs last game before the trade happened too
I mean yeah, it makes sense. The Mavs front office and owners were probably heavily compensated to make this trade, under the table of course.
Adam "Slimy Snake" Silver 100% made this happen to increase NBA's ratings and viewership to make sure Lakers have the biggest star with them who is internationally well known. Lakers have always gotten huge favors from the NBA apart from the whole Chris Paul trade.
This is the best video. Thanks! 25 years mavs fan. Done with the NBA. Eff this shhhh
Trading Luka Doncic to the Lakers for a guy who's missed 1/3 of his career games from injury, and doing so without informing the league that he was available is the basketball equivalent of divorcing your wife, mother of your children; trading in a solid 9.5 for a mail order bride you think is a 10.
It came from Silver and high NBA executives. THE GMs were told what to do. I agree with you.
This makes sense. Nice work.
There's always room in Laker Nation for former Mavs fans. Ignore the conspiracy theories.
Crazy the last Big 3 to win a Chip was Giannis/Jrue/Khris. Boston had a Big 5 so they don't count.
