- Some students who attend a Queens middle school say they're being bullied and beaten simply because they're migrants. City school officials are now looking into whether the incidents are isolated or if it's another battle for some of the city's youngest migrants. CBS New York's Jennifer Bisram reports. Very sad for the children, but the parents are to blame also. Who drags their kids through 7 countries and expect not only shelter, food, phones, medical care, legal care, money, mental health counseling on the dime of US tax payers, and still expect to be treated with great dignity. I feel the bullies hear complaints from angry family members or on TV or have even experienced the entitlement of these people, and are understandably upset too.
Those kids that bully others and attack them should be raised differently and with high standards. It’s poor parenting from those bullies parents.

My comment is that I cannot pay $40k tuition for private school and what I expect in public school is not only daycare, but decent education.

One sided story. Why didn't you interview any of the American children and get their side of the story? At my kid's school, the migrant kids are the ones doing the bullying. Some of them come from areas where females don't have any rights, and when they act how they want, our kids will not be safe in our schools. Other migrant kids are severely traumatized from coming here, they need serious mental health treatment, they are not ready for school.
Also, our kids are allowed to be kids. They are frustrated. We all are trying to find a way to understand and articulate why this is happening. Schoolyard or bus fights aren't the right answer. But that's how kids are. I know I wasn't the only one bullied and beat up on the bus. That happens to many kids, American or not. You have to learn how to fix your own problems!
They won't interview any of the American kids because it doesn't help with their narrative. they're trying to push the story of “immigrant good, American citizen bad” and getting the other side of the story would only hurt the message they're trying to program into people.
