I appreciate all the effort and hard work you're doing to document your project. Thanks for bringing us along for the ride, it's given me motivation to get cracking on my projects.
Keep up the Kar Doug every video is coming together at great speed keeping us the viewers exited for the next the gate is almost complete so wait for another corner of this magnificent Kar your building keep up the great content.
Nice job Doug. Thanks for sharing this with all of us. Hey if your going to the welding supply store pick up another spool of welding wire, you can never have enough 😅. I was thinking about a color, years ago, I think Revell model had a 57 Nomad. The box cover car was painted I think Hawaiian bronze and it would look good with a pearl white roof. Just my suggestion 🏁
Bringing people up to speed is like an investment into your future work. If someone just tuned in it looks like just some basic metal and bodywork going on. That tailgate is priceless based on your work of recreating it back to what it was. Keep up the great work. Also like your video posting pics of different Nomads that keeps us guessing on your finished product
Hey, I appreciate the u tube payment story. Definitely quashed any interest that I may have had to start a channel. Wow, your gas usage, and cost! I've been thinking that maybe I should bite the bullet and get modern. Guess I'll stay with my Oxy Acetylene torches. Too old to learn new stuff anyhow. Did the entire 59 on Impala SS with just a couple of tanks full. Keep up the good work.
Hey Doug, I’m glad you updated for new viewers. If someone just happened to land on the channel, they’d probably think you were just hammering away on some old Nomad! This project is unique and damn interesting. You’re doing an A1 job of something I’d bet has never been done before. Keep posting buddy! Ken
Tailgate fit looks great…..way better than what you started out with. Don’t feel that you have to apologize for what you say or do. We’re all here to watch your dream come true……lots of us wishing it was our dream too!!!👍👍🇨🇦
The gate looks fantastic. I’m amazed at the figment you’ve achieved, especially on the window frame. Not many people out there who could make that happen! Really enjoying the build!
I've never been a cat person, but your partners in crime really have changed my perception of cats. They love you and are really neat. Excellent work on the tailgate!
Hi, It's Jon. Remember me? I think you have a beautiful voice and I could listen to you for hours. Plus, you have a smooth manner. That's also enjoyable. You keep talking Doug and we love your project! Peace.
Hey, Doug, I'm glad I stopped by for a look at your car. We'll I learned that I'm almost as old as you. I won't be 60 until the end of February, although my wife and daughter are already teasing me about being 60 and I'm a truckdriver, too. You're really get that gate finessed. Good video. Keep up your hard work.
Doug as interesting and personal your videos you are bound to keep growing. I tell my friends about your channel and they too have started watching. Wish you the best of luck.
Well Doug, you've done very good really pretty quick. I've been on RUclips for 15 years. Didn't make videos regularly untill the last year and a half. I get 1/2 of what you get a month. But it adds up to keep me doing it. I enjoy making videos so that's the main reason for it all. Very cool project buddy. I hope to find a 4 door 55 or 57 wagon, two door convert it and make it a sedan delivery. My favorite kind of cars! Cheers, keep at it!
Hey White Toes Doug being 60 myself, I feel we have a common experience of seeing these cars on the road starting to rust. Glad you can buy the supplies you need with the videos to build this project. Thank you for letting us watch your progress.❤
Just a down to earth doer and man can you do! I'm curious as to what the vehicle is next to the Nomad? I also appreciate you sharing your personal life and the other rides you have.
Hi Doug, John from Canada again, checking back in to see the latest project update. Things are looking good, keep at it .p.s that "white toes" sure does love you!
It takes a lot of time and patience to do what you do Doug. As for the you tube thing as long as it pays you for gas that seems ok to me. I wish you could get more to be helpful. More people watching and subscribing couldn't hurt. Keep going, I will always watch them.
Amazing what your doing Doug .Just a suggestion maybe now that your well along on the tailgate make a longer video or connect a few short ones and finish it up and then move to the next section. This way your not dragging it out ...
Thanks! Unfortunately, the way I work and film sometimes you are seeing things the same day as I did them. For me to wrap it up in one video I would have to take a few days off from posting. That said, that is probably what will happen...
The tailgate looks great Doug! It's nice that the channel can help a little bit to offset some of your costs. I don't monetize my little channel of 1400 subscribers, as my videos only average about 150 views. LOL Yours is unique enough and with enough views to definitely make it worth your while to do so. Just do what you do and you will continue to grow and that extra income will help offset your costs of making this car gorgeous, as well as maybe get some sponsors to help with parts!
My Mig is setup for flux welding, it has the ability to do Gas, I just don't have it setup that way For the small amount I use it I can't justify getting the tank & hose setup My Gas Welder/Cutter, tanks are still almost full, I use it to break parts loose I want a Tig, It's what I spent the most time welding with - I like it With the foot peddle I control the heat I'm welding with Crank the Amps up and use the foot to weld it or Fry it together lol thx Doug
Coming along nicely Doug. So glad you decided to do fabrication over buying panels, really shows off your skills!I know it’s a long way down the road but I was wondering what your plans are for the drive train if you figured that out yet?
Doug, have you considered putting a compilation of clips from some of your old shows together to show any new subscribers what you have done. The regulars probably would like to see it too.
Keep on doing what you do and how you’re doing it you 60 year old youngster! I just turned 72! And as far as just being “a man and his cats” you guys are pretty kool kats!
I watch every video although I don't comment on each one. I figure you have enough to respond back to. As a fellow Nomad lover and chaser I support the Channel. Have a good one
Hey Doug, I was watching a RUclips video this morning the channel is Hotrods Garage. He was working on a 57 wagon and he was showing retractable cables that were uses as supports for the fold down gate. I was wondering if the Nomad had the same thing or if there was something else that was used for support when gate is down? Anyway thanks for the RUclips money deal. I had always wondered how that worked.
Hay Doug great video .. Maybe you want to talk a little bit about editing and how you opened your channel as well as how you up load the video. thanks for sharing your editor program with me. All of us out here are baffled as to how this all works.
Doug, what is that other car there in the shop? I know blue one is a Jeep Comanche...love the videos im watching while on an extended stay in the Phillipines..
Always greaty work Doug...BTW, Is the color in the thumbnail, the color you are going with? Is that Tropical Turq or Highland? Looks like parts were Surf?
Hey man..I don't need to know about RUclips money...I have 279...I don't care though....mine was so family could see what I was doing. The gate is looking awesome! I decided to stare at my project tonight.
Sorry Chris,I wasn't trying to make you feel bad.If it makes you feel no so bad,I have a channel that I posted my music on that goes back 15 years and has 24 subscribers LOL.Thanks!
Hey doug you gotta try carbon dioxide... trust me it wirks fine, iam 46 and ive been doing bodywork and welding since i was 16.. if you gave me your adress i have a extra adaptor to convert the carbon dioxide bottle to your regularor... i would gladly send it ti you if it didnt ciast to much ti ship... and i dont know what set your regulator to but i dont bother lookin at the gage and setting it to the recommended pressure, i skimp on it wuite a bit, i csn burn through a 10 pound rool of wire and still have lots of gas left...i just set it by the sound of it i put it to my ear pull the trigger and set it so its barely coming out... for one my gages are coverd in overspray since i dont have a oaint booth and i do all my welding , grinding , primeing and painting all in one shop... you have to try it it saves me alot of money, that co2 and argoshied is way to expensive fir my blood... seriously you have it try it Doug , iam not shitting you !! You wont notice much difference, its a little more splattery but who gives a dam, in the end it saves money and eorks just as good
I have used it on occasion when I have run out of gas.I don't like it because the welds are ugly and spatter a lot.I get a smoother, easier to grind weld with gas.
It sure is and I really appreciate it! I hope I didn't sound ungrateful.I just wanted everyone who is thinking about starting a channel to know that it's not a get rich quick scheme. Thanks!
Doug with your talent and the way you show your work, I believe your channel will grow quite large
Thank you Joe!I'm just glad that everyone seems to like it so far!

That's true.Every dollar I make is a dollar I didn't have!
Another great video. I’m excited to see what’s next.
Thank you Glenn!

Thank you for the information and the honesty. When you were heating the window frame, did you use a torch?

I guess watching and commenting is truly “giving my 2cents” lol looks great
Yes it is,thank you!
Doug, what is that other car there in the shop? I know blue one is a Jeep Comanche...love the videos im watching while on an extended stay in the Phillipines..

@EllisKarKustoms-v9j got it!! Thanks!
Always greaty work Doug...BTW, Is the color in the thumbnail, the color you are going with? Is that Tropical Turq or Highland? Looks like parts were Surf?
Thanks! As for the color of the car in the thumbnail,I'm not sure what color code it is.I'm just trying out different colors. No decision yet...
Tedious amount of work there
Sure is John!

Have you said what color you painting this?. I'd love to see it the turquoise color all o er with painted steel wheels and poverty caps
No,the color is still a mystery...even to me!
You probably already know- when you open the gas bottle valve, open it all the way so it's seated and the stem is sealed.
Yes sir Frank.I just do a LOT of welding as you've seen LOL!
@@EllisKarKustoms-v9j it just seems that your bottle only lasts a week.
Have you ever used bondo honey? Evercoat part#1249. Its the cat's meow
Thanks Dewayne! I have used similar products for final touch ups before paint.
I hate to be a stinker but I love this project! But what will next project be? Lolol
Thanks Kevin! I don't know what I'll do next. This project is going to be a hard act to follow LOL!
That 300 is good for a tank of gas and a couple jugs of body fuller what the hell better than out of pocket money. Plus your having fun
True Gary.I definitely don't want anyone to think I don't appreciate it.It will help very much. Thanks!
Hey you can that two hard you got left and get a post car and make it a hard top next okay ❤❤❤❤
I have thought about it Red...
have you ever considered using flux core wire no gas required
I have used it on occasion when I have run out of gas.I don't like it because the welds are ugly and spatter a lot.I get a smoother, easier to grind weld with gas.
If you're not first you are last😅😅
That's what Ricky Bobby said LOL,thanks!
I be damm iam 60 years old to❤❤❤❤
It's a club I wish I didn't belong to yet LO

If you start making a lot of money on your channel don't fight it. 😂 You make money and everyone enjoys and learns from the videos.
Thanks Mitch! I'll keep doing what I'm doing and let the chips fall where they may...
Hey, look at that, Doug! 1.5 k followers.
Ain't it crazy Joe?I can't believe it myself!
I think that thumbnail is the color
Thanks Tim! I'm testing out colors...
$300 for doing what your already doing is a bonus
It sure is and I really appreciate it! I hope I didn't sound ungrateful.I just wanted everyone who is thinking about starting a channel to know that it's not a get rich quick scheme. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing. Do you have a P.O. Box address. People can contribute to your video costs. Peace boss-man.
Sorry Matthew,I don't.But if things keep going the way they are then I might need one. Thanks!
the "hard mad" hardtop nomad
I like it George!
