I can't see why dd speed shop couldn't tell you where the used parts are.
I'm glad you are keeping up at to what you are meant to do. Helping people doing projects with smart ways of doing things. I still wish I could do that. You keep doing there Doug. Thank you.
Coming along nicely
I agree with the above comment a 110% always a joy watching old school craftsmanship which outways this new modern stuff a lot keep up the great content Doug
Fantastic job kiddo wahooooo awesome
Taking shape nicely, Hope you can fix the hinges or find some reasonably priced! Looking forward to the next video!!🖖✌️
You are a true, skilled metal artist Doug! It looks so good!!
im working on a 57 myself...using all 1957 metal on all patches...great minds think alike....
I think I'd leave the trim long. Something different. Good job Man. 👍👍✌️🇬🇧
Nice Doug, coming together bud
Someone might trade the fin trim.
That would be nice but I don't have much hope. The Nomad piece is worth at least double what the 2 door piece is worth. That said,I would make that trade if anyone is interested LOL!
Hey Buddy had my wife send some picks of 56 to fb did thusly come three get more lol like to share I’m still way far behind haven’t even got to motor AMD put shift kit in th350 but I’m comin
Cool Willie,I'll have to check it out! Thanks!
👍 Thank you boss-man!
Thank you Matthew!
Nice work.
Thanks Derek!
Great progress. It’s cool to watch you make progress. Minor request: When you are showing different things on the car, can you slow down the camera movement or smooth out the change in scenery? I’m getting motion sickness watching this one. 😅
Sorry Rich,I sometimes forget when I'm filming that the camera is not a finger LOL! I wave it around like I'm pointing at something. Thanks!
The back half is looking really good .
Thank you Paul!
Even a battery operated tool has brushes They don't make stuff to be repaired, you will have to open it up and check it Getting more done everyday thx Brother
Thanks Blake! It's worth opening it up before I chuck it LOL!
Nice update. Where are you on hinges? I thought you were waiting on hinges to finish back. How’s the tailgate fitting?
Thanks! The hinges ended up on backorder so I may have to salvage the old ones. Then I can get back to fitting the gate...
If you have a buddy that is a decent TIG welder with stainless steel, You could cut the hardtop moldings in the middle, shorten to the proper length for the Nomad, and have him TIG them back together. Then sand and polish them. I've had to do it on C1 Corvettes, as some of that trim is outrageous.
That is a thought...Thanks!
Very Very Nice. The Satisfaction You Get From Turning Bent Up Rusted Metal into a Beautiful Car Has To Be Fulfilling. Thank You For Letting Me Enjoy Also.
Wow,very kind! Thank you!
thumbs up!
Thanks Robert!
Don at Dons hot rods has a lot of tri five stuff. He has a RUclips channel called Dons hot rods and I think he is in Ohio if I’m not mistaken.
Thanks Howard! Don and I actually are subscribed to each other and we have talked a few times. He is very knowledgeable about these Nomads so I'm lucky he has an interest in my project!
It's not looking good for Bad Chad and Jolene relationship problems. They were offline for a while and only came on for 1 episode to explain and do a little work. Maybe he over worshiped her to the point of giving her all the power between them and she is the brains behind the business end of their channel. He taught her how to do what he does, but I can't imagine her doing a channel by herself, although she could have people tune in because he made sure that everyone appreciated her looks . I hope that they can work it out, but what a mess. I haven't clicked on the years, old troll sites like What happened to? etc. I had never even heard of them until about a month before you started. Anyway sorry to talk too much about them, but it is wise, not to work with family in media, remember the American choppers fiasco?. Take care
A lot of drama going on there! Another reason I like to keep things simple around here! Take care
Doug and Chad are Two totally different people... Doug is what he is and who he is, he's not trying to be someone else, I tried talking to Chad at a new Brunswick car show along time ago, long before he started the bad Chad persona , or you tube, Chad does the work but he tries to be something that he's not with the bad Chad persona .. he's all show tries to be someone or something to feel a certain kinda way I'd say, I've seen him and tried talking to him and he's not even comparable to Doug, I don't even know why you'd mention that, I dont think Doug is gona change his looks or personality to try to be someone he's not... he is who he is .. and I don't know if you noticed but Chad doesn't usuly finish shit.. I've seen his work up close and it ain't all rainbows and blue sky I can tell you that .. I shouldn't put my two cents worth in but iam from nova Scotia, and so is he.. he does shit that big daddy Ed Roth and Barris customs did back in the late 50's 60's and 70's and not that there stuff wasn't cool because it definitely was, but there stuff actually looked good, and they were the first to customize shit, not copying what someone else did befire them.iam not saying that he can't fabricate, cut shit up and weld it back togeather but he's all show , sorry fir my opinion, I know there like arses and every has one, but it is what it is
It's looking good. Try to resize the fin top if it's doable. You could contact Dean in the Carmel NY area. He has many try 5 parts, and maybe he has the 57 Nomad parts you need.
Thanks Harvey! I like to try to use what I have whenever I can.But there are things I can't avoid having to buy...
A little at a time really shaping up
Thank you Jesse!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Red!
Doug I got a few Harbor freight tools myself. Glad to see the not needing any extra support.
Maybe they need to sponsor me and give me free tools LOL!
I thought you were going to say either White toes or Nomad had used up their 9 lives and was happy to hear it was only a tool. Sometimes it could be the cord , or even just a different plug cause I had a temperamental saws all that would work sometimes but not all times. Looking good, can't wait to see everything in primer and possible tailgate hinge magic. Take care
Thanks Peary! I ask a lot out of my cheap tools LOL!
Another good one Doug. Learned some more things about Nomads. Most likely the way the cordless grinder is acting, it is in the switch. Those semi-safe switches get messed up sometimes because of lots of use. You should be able to fix it.
Thanks Jim! I hope so cause I hate dragging a cord around...LOL
Great video Doug
Thanks Tim!
Commenting to feed the algorithm. Nice work.
The algorithm is always hungry LOL.Thanks John!
Great fabricating Doug, love your replacement panels. Coming a long great.👍🏻
Thanks!
i am curious, why are the wheel wells extend on the Nomad, whilst the 2 door has well wheel following the curvature of the rear wheel. it is understandable for coupes b/c of space. ls this because the nomad hides the guide cables opening the tailgate?
They support the window channel. There is a separate innner fender that drops down behind the tire. On the 55 Nomad or regular wagon, you also have a side gas filler pipe, which is hidden inside, as well the tailgate cables and retractable springs are hidden inside.
@@monadking2761 Thank you for the explanation. Always curious about that.
A pretty good explanation that I can't add to!
Doug, you are getting this video thing down. Good video, and the car is starting to come together.
Thanks Coby!
Wow you made a lot of progress Looks great
Thank You!
It's all coming together, keep up the good work Doug.
Thanks Jeff!
You're doing great work, Doug. I was looking at a Dodge Ram 1500 2007 Saturday, with some rust in it. I started thinking that if I had a welder, I could fix it. But I think he wanted too much for it, and the transmission seemed weak, too
Thank you! With used cars, sometimes you have to know when to walk away...
Love the way you approach a problem and think it thru
Thanks Bill! A lot of this project has been making it up as I go...
Awesome. As usual!
Thank you very much!
Wow looking so good my friend, love this build from the Philippines
Thank you Charles my friend!
Hey Doug didnt the 210 post cars have shorter tail fin spears? They should be easier to locate.
I think just the trim was shorter, isn't Doug amazing? Take care.
Yes but too short!
Yes,they were too short...unfortunately
Thanks for the update brother! Keep plugging away, it's looking good. 😊
Thank you Daniel!
Keep up the great work!
Thank you,I appreciate it!
Looks better than factory
Thank you Steven!
Nice progress Doug Thinks are shaping up and you got the official CATSCAN approval!
Thanks John!
Doug, I think you would have no problem rebuilding the gate hinges. Would love to see you do it.
They won't be very fun Mike, but they can be saved.
Doug, you should hang that hard top roof from the ceiling, can't have her rust out. You will need it for next project.
I might have to find a project that needs hardtop LOL
The back looking great!
Thank you Dee!
😊😊😊🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🎅
Thanks Kermit!
The opening line reminded me of the 70's detective shows lol
