Fun fact about the Convectrix.. It has an Alt-Fire which looks like a meme at first, it reverses the wave pattern of the beams so they start centred then expand outwards... But then you realize that... it makes the beams *start centred!* ... Just tap alt-fire aaaand now you have an Opticor Vandal without the windup..
Also in lower levels if you don't need both beams to focus on a target you can just hold alt-fire and it sweeps back and forth killing everything in the room.
I got it randomly in circuit the first time I tried it and thought it was very fun.. and THEN the unique mod came out in nightwave which turned it into a god.
I found your channel a week ago, and having played warframe casually for many, many years there were still some things that didn't click. But the quality of videos you make and the guides you do cleared so many doubts that got me so much progress done so fast. Keep it up

I'm a shotgun user at heart. Something just feels right about pointing the business end of a shotgun down a hallway and lettin it sing. I expected an appearance from the Kuva Hek but a great video nonetheless!!!
Already got the Strun Prime and Incarnon for it long ago, I could feel the potential of it while testing and now it's one of my favorite shotguns in the game!

I didn't hear you mention that the Cedo multiplies damage per status effect on the enemy, which makes the priming of the secondary fire even more powerful for it.

Cedo has been my main primary for a hella long time... and it holds its own in Steel Path once you learn how to mod it ... for an MR8 weapon... that's pretty badass. :)
Same here dude ^-^ I modded mine for more fire rate, Crit, and status and ran around using it like a shotgun bullet hose. Turned an acolyte into swiss cheese in seconds

While I think its only like a lvl 20 to 30 mission, I took a completely umodded cedo to Gabii on ceres and it cut through everything like butter despite being a while into the survival mission and completely unmodded

Great video! Can you please make another video like this, but with bows? I have just done war within still using dread cause I could mod it to get 16,000 dmg with the crit multiplier, but I'm sure there are much better bows and I like the playstyle more than the weapon itself (tho I like the dread) so a video on that would really help me out and I haven't really seen any.
Post The New War there is the Nataruk which you get that I currently want (only like 3ish days from my month or two long Necramech grind lol) which is really good. Other than that, I have no clue and it would be cool to see a video on it. I started out with the Paris so I've always liked the bows (though the Paris' difficulty with flying foes annoyed me lol) and while I'd love to use the Bramma or Lenz (both solid bows) the ammo economy of them scare me 😂
All time favorite is Cedo. Totally looking forward to eventual Cedo Prime. Corinth Prime, Bubonico, and Felarx are also great, tied with eachother for second place in my list. When I'm not in the mood for incarnons, my typical loadout is Cedo + Pyranna Prime + Vastilok. Though, those can take a bit longer to chew through higher-content stuff Stuff like archon hunts, I'll swap out for Felarx + Laetum and keep Vastilok. Mod each for different combo elements and you'll have much easier time with the sentients. Bubonico + Tenet Plinx can do good on things like the Index, where you're worrying more about ammo drops. Corint Prime, is the first prime primary weapons I got. I trades a clan mate some stuff they needed, in exchange for the blueprints.

Some notes on Cedo: It's got a passive that deals 60% bonus damage per unique status effect on target, and a default 0.8 meter punch-through. Modding for multishots gives you additional glaives on alt-fire launch (all launched at once, and capable of tracking different enemies). The glaives count as homing projectiles, which bounce up to 11 times, creating a 6m explosion each time. The initial hit of the glaive has 50% status proc, but the explosions always proc 2 types of status (the first being between whatever's modded for, such as radiant and viral, the second being random base elemental). It's also a great weapon for loot hunting, since you can use the glaives to break boxes, and thus not be wasting ammo or energy. The initial hit of the glaives also gets the 60% bonus damage, and the explosions are not line-of-sight dependent and can penetrate walls. This is the gun Lavos had back when he was a prison warden for the Orokin.

Right! The built-in CO/Galv Savy type effect was a major selling point of me getting it, along with the high status chance, and guaranteed status proc. I haven't gotten a maxed hells chamber for a (budget, I'm MR 11 lol) multi-shot glaive yet, but I'm anticipating it with glee. Edit: just remembered my Cedo Riven is + to multi-shot - to recoil so that should do nicely as well.
Phantasma Prime on Saryn buffed with Venom Dose and Toxic Lash is a beast!

Just press H to switch the shoulder where the camera is over for the Bubonico, I basically play like that all the time, just on Kahl and in Disruotion the view is obstruckted with objects or smth.

The Strun build is kinda ok but with the incarnon u can go for 60% crit and thats Mode eifficent (with a CC/CD Riven)
Im happy that Corinth is on the list. Its kinda outdated but still sounds and feels most shotgun of all shotguns.

I believe going for low progenitor damage on the Kuva Kohm or any other weapon is a mistake, because it's actually a BASE damage bonus. The Kohm especially **looks** like it wants to be build for viral slash status, but the full damage build with primed mods and a magnetic or radiation progenitor (6 total damage types) runs through enemies like a freight train before the bleed even has a chance to matter.
Yeah i dont think he actually does the math on his builds. Just a aingle viral proc would double the damage his slash procs do. Going from 25 to 30 slash procs per shot isnt worth losing out on the over 100% extra damage that viral procs cause.
The strun is exactly what I want out of a shotgun. I've tried the sobek, astilla, kohm, and boar. These are just short range smgs, which is fine, but not the power fantasy I have for a shotgun. A shotgun should drop just about any target in one round. I just got my strun this week and fell in love. I only got it bc I got a riven for it and no regrets

The Kuva Kohm has been my go to weapon for a while now. I got a multishot-firerate-status duration riven for it, so that and a full galvanised setup turns it into a status spreading bullet hose. Throw on a speed buff and it gets ridiculous.

The Hek is my favorite because i used it from when i unlocked it to mr9 and it was carrying me so much
Oh yeah, totally see that. The Hek can really acompany you through the entire game: Normal Hek first, then Veykor Hek and finally the Kuva :D

Fulmin might officially not be a Shotgun but since its primary attack is shotgun i would count it as one of the best

Have you tried his thrall augment? Man, thats alot of DPS, provided that your idiot teammates don't kill your thralls. That's primarily a high Power Build as the mod scales off of strength

My personal favourite shotgun gotta be the Rauta. pair it up with a melee that thrives off heavy attacks like the Quassus and you got some CRAZY damage numbers
Oh yes, the Rauta has a great gimmick :D I was originally even planning to mention it in the vid but then I decided to cut it because it was already 24 mins long xD
A sleeper pick that is actually pretty insane: The Exergis
If you can source in a minimum of +130% reload speed, (ie, Primed Tactical Pump + Vedetta/Merciless or Reset) it can easily hang with even the Strun Prime w/o the reliance on Hunters Munitions + Viral restricting 3 slots.
It even has infinite body punchthrough, freeing up another restricted slot that would be taken up by Seeking Force.
If you're feeling spicy, slot in 3 Tau Forged Crimsons for primary status chance, it can push past the 100% status chance breakpoint and apply 10-14 high damage Slash-procs per shot to melt anything without a bane mod!
Bonus points for the feel of a bottomless pump-action, I may as well be cosplaying the Doom Slayer at 320% reload speed and 500% multishot.
Not a fan of Arcane Pistoleer?
I was actually considering it for the list but then somehow I just felt like I'd rather feature the others. But I agree, the Exergis is a really strong pick :D
@Pistoleer, Actually I love Arcane Pistoleer, but it has exactly 2 problems for the Exergis: It competes for an Arcane slot that I would rather use on a general purpose Arcane like Avenger, and the default fire rate can reach a breakpoint where you expend more ammo than you gain w/o ammo mutation. For most other primaries though, Pistoleer is an amazing buff to work in!
@MH Completely understandable, the Exergis is also way too hard to build around anyways for most players.
Remember that My Exergis felt like absolute hot garbage for Forma 1-5, and would suddenly skyrocket in power starting at 6+ forma. (Though mine has eaten 11 forma so far, had a couple of brain farts about its special mechanics.)
Im actually looking forward to craft Kullervo's Rauta as a statstick for my Baruuk, so damage wont be my priority for that ;) but in the past ive played a good chunk of the game with just my Vaykor Hek, so it'll stay in my heart ❤

You know what's funny? In my Script I actually had a chapter on the Rauta as a honorable mention but I decided to cut it when I saw the video was already 24 mins long xD

I had the incarnon Boar. It being on the normal boar instead of the prime version makes a Huge difference in damage so I'll just wait for the boar prime to rotate in again and get it.

Got myself the Incarnon Adapter for the Strun last week when it was available and it is so fun. Having a massive AOE projectile on command that is actually good is so much fun. My favorite weapon for base Star Chart is far and away the Kuva Ogris with lots of Heat and Napalm for maximum burn and Area Denial but it's unfortunately not super great in Steel Path, so having a sort of Ogris adjacent weapon feels amazing.
Edit: Also super hoping for Cedo Prime and Lavos Prime in the near future, but seeing as Protea isn't releasing with a Stalhta Prime I'm not really holding my breath for it.
Oh yes, AoE guns in the normal Star Chart are awesome :D There also the alt fire of the Corinth is good ^^

Stahlta is a corpus weapon, why would it get a prime?
Its a crime to forget about Phage but singing praises to Convectrix!
While at the surfrace they both have the quircky fire mechanic, Phage have 7 beams and one of them always at the center of crosshair by default PLUS the higher firerate the faster beams come togehter while aiming on shooting. Also phage comes with innate viral damage which makes it easy to combine viral with corrosive to MELT whatever you point this gun at. Oh, and of course dont forget about TASTY riven mods that actualy relatively cheap compared to overrated shotguns rivens.
Worth noting the convectrix also has great sound effects.

Not even sure if the kuva kohm was out back when I last played but the base kohm was always a fun gun back then, still use it
Might be that it wasn't out back then but I totally agree, the Kohm family is just great all together ❤️
Khom(khoom) is extra dumb with amplitude, high valence, and multiple status types. Since it can theoretically reach over 300% status chance and potentially 400% per pellet. It self primes its own shots, and synergieses well with gun co. It melts acolytes and heavy units stupid fast, even without the arcanes. I found this out during the early days of beefy major suffering steel path.
Also, punch through on the Corinth is godly.
1:35 lol, that explains a lot, i haven't unlocked Steel Path yet, but i'm using a fully built Felarx and chargin it's Incarnon form is horrible lol, legit thought the weapon was bugged, since i have no trouble hitting headshots, and could charge the Laetum and the Phenmor very fast when i used them, now i know the reason at least.
At least the Felarx is a monster even without the Incarnon Form, so it's not that bad that i can't use the Incarnon form as often as the Laetum/Phenmor.
My only issue is that the reload is one shell at a time, it gets bothersome at the start
Shotgun incarnons are pain to charge simply because they are too strong. You kill the enemy with 1 or 2 pellets and rest go waste.
Yeah, I find it super weird that the other pallets simply stop registering if you onehot an enemy xD
You don't need the Kuva version of the Khom to have an insane auto-shotgun.
My Khom build took a bunch of Forma to get there, but it has an above 200% status chance and just shreds everything on Steel Path.
Agreed, the normal Kohm is a real killer, too :D

I wish they changed the mod drain on some of the primed shotgun mods, I have a hard time fitting everything I want on my boar for example and my tenet plasmor build has like 6 capacity left despite being fully forma'd.
Cedo is also tradeable. Can get the entire set for like 20p
I was grinding for it (both as a byproduct of the Necramech grind and cause I have a nice Riven for it) but then realized it was a standing weapon, and therefore cheap and bought it off someone for 19 plat lol. Plus it looks sick with the nightwave skin haha. I love the thing to death now.
What you can do with the Convectrix is tap spamming its alt fire for pin point shots

Tenet Arca Plasmor makes me really wish there was a variant of Internal Bleeding for shotguns, but I guess I understand why that isn't the case.

@@destroyer99612 I highly recommend Internal Bleeding on it, along with Galvanized Aptitude with other sources of base damage like Primary Deadshot and Serration. Fulmin Prime's silent shotgun default mode force procs Impact within a certain distance, and because the projectile has travel time it applies Galvized Aptitude multiplicatively to the entire damage amount instead of just adding to other mods.
Honestly, after you use that particular setup, you'll never want to switch to the inferior automatic mode.

@@destroyer99612 You need to complete every node on the star chart, talk to Teshin in a relay about the Steel Path, and then you unlock the toggle on the UI to swap over to Steel Path missions.

I stopped using the Phatasma Prime because of its ammo consumption. I couldn't keep ammo for it. It does shred, but only if you have ammo.
Have you tried Vigilante Supplies in the Exilus? I feel for me this was usually enough 😉

Another reason why so many people disregard convertix is cause like the Flux rifle, It was more than useless before they fixed the status thing with beam weapons ...and when you deal with a game that's over a decade old with such a huge arsenal there's still stigmas around weapons that used to be bad which now are incredibly busted room clearing machines

I gotta give my favorite shotgun title to the strun as obvious it may seem. My friends back in the day used to joke about the corrupted crewmen one shotting you with a stray pellet from across the map. Then they changed the weapons they had from the strun to arca plasmor and I called cringe lol
Flash forward to my new friends getting into the game and I'm telling them stories of my time back in 2016 Warframe and I like to joke that my incarnon strun is a fraction of what the corrupted crewmen did with their old struns.
I have a riven on it and run viral electricity. If you have purple shards and 600% status then you can get like 50-75 electric procs on enemies. It's ridiculous, needless to say I named it the Corrupted Crewman.

The felarx incarnon mode looks badass but... the normal version is better :(
as a side note ...if youre just about starting to look into rivens i would suggest unlocking the shotgun ones since almost all the shotguns are viable and strong with most of them being beasts, in a way they have the lowest chance of giving you an useless riven
efficient beams for convectrix shows up from time to time in nightwave shop and tbh without it the convectrix is not that good to use

Yeah, also for some reason they seem like the Riven type that has gravitated to me most. I have an Arca Plasmor, a Cedo, and a Hek Riven. Which conveniently enough, covers two and an honorary mention of this list. Of course I am MR 11, so not quite to the point of being able to use all of those yet lol. But they are great to have for the future.
The other Riven that always gravitates to me is kit guns for some reason, so I have a Sporelancer, Rattleguts, and Zakti Riven as well lol.

I used to main Phantasma Prime but I found that it burns through so much ammo in SP. and since ammo drops are scarce in there, it’s not a good choice from that mode.

The Kuva Kohm is also a monster if you go hard in status. I went for a hunter munitions crit + corrosive + heat progenitor and Galvanized aptitude. And then run with Wisp for firerate and radiation procs from her breach surge. And then get viral from my companion.
I never ran into the point where ut didn't do enough damage no matter the level. This is because tge status is just so high that this thing scales like crazy.

If i own phantasma roll a riven, then put that riven on prime will it change its numbers i am confused how this will work
Yes, the numbers will change. Lower on the Prime because of its riven dispo, higher on vanilla because of its higher riven dispo
Short version is every weapon, including variants of the same weapon, has a stat called Riven Disposition. In-game this is displayed as 5 dots that get anywhere from 1-5 of them filled in, with more filled in dots denoting higher Disposition. The dots actually represent a multiplier that any Riven mods apply to their bonuses that ranges from x0.5 to x1.5, and every weapon starts off at 0.5 disposition when released. With every Prime release, the devs adjust the disposition of each weapon, usually bumping it up by 0.1 or so, but they will also nerf the disposition of some stuff if it's gotten too popular/powerful. So a normal version of a weapon could have x1.1 disposition, meaning (for example) a +100% Multishot Riven would become +110% on that version of the weapon, but a newly released Prime variant of the same weapon, using the same +100% Multishot Riven, would only have x0.5 disposition at the start, so it would only gain +50% Multishot. Basically the more meta/popular a weapon is, the lower its disposition multiplier will be.

We need a video for us regular strong players please. Like how far can we get in steel path with no primer or incarnon weapons. I have strong weapons but nothing more than just prime versions. Everything good or meta is locked behind syndicates rank 4 & 5
Well, Phantasma, Bubonico and Convectrix would be three non Prime, non Incarnon non Syndicate weapons in this video already. Also, there is no Priming going on in the video so this sounds like exactly what you're asking for :O
What on Earth weapon is even GOOD that you get from syndicates? Let alone meta? Syndicate weapons are so subpar...
@@derekspringer6448 cedo is locked behind father, and that counts as a syndicate. Same with the laetum, phenmor, and felarx.
Convectrix is amazing. But it's completely useless against acolytes and other enemies which have damage attenuation or a cap on status effects..... As long as you have a good secondary for Acolytes it's a good pick.

Yes, totally agree. All enemies that are limited in their Status Effect numbers. I usually bring a heavy hitting melee to compensate for these situations 😉
What about the Astiila Prime? That’s my baby! It was the hek, but once I was able to use the Astilla, I’ve been using it ever since. High status chance and impact; it can definitely make quick work of enemies
Then use it.... I prefer the vanilla *Astilla* because The Prime is Super Ugly and you can't Revert Prime Weapon Skins like you can with Warframes. 👀

I was actually considering the Astilla Prime. Had I made a top 15 it would've definitely made it in but my problem was that I didn't find 15 Shotguns worth investing in so I cut it down to 10 and the Astilla unfortunately haf to make space :/

Something he Forgot to Mention in the Video is The Status Chance Gets divided by the Ever Growing Number of Pellets Fired per Shot.
This Applies to Every Variation of the *Kohm* BTW (including the Baby *Kohmaks* ) 👀
When you apply 2 status effects, you're not guaranteed they'll be different. Slash is never guaranteed when firing Kuva Kohm, just more or less likely.
Im using Exergis bcuz I like pump action shotgun and every games but dng you need waves cleaning weapons im wf so Im really having a hard time playing with that.Its fun to use but Its got a tide angle no spread I got no idea how to make it beast weapon.Im thinking abt using kullevo and his SKILL 1 so I can one shot waves.

@@MHBlacky_ENG I enjoy Deimos grind, unlike Fortuna, I literally just finished with lil duck after the Dante Unbounded update, farming for Toroids and Dead Bonds was a pain, I read many threads online from years ago and DE just decided to do something about it. I quit farming in fortuna late last summer, I just finally Hildrym last week 😂

Shotguns should not be incarnon charged by headshots. They are SHOTGUNS. They are not meant to be precision weapons.
so charged on what? body shots basically turns the gun into the incarnon always, and kills would make it viable in base starchart which isn't what de want since they specifically nerfed that

@@oasif2227 Well shotguns' job is send bunches of pellets over a wide area, so how about charging based on pellets that connect (obviously scale this so it's not instantly charging). Play into the inaccuracy by charging best on groups of enemies.
Seriously Incarnons need variety. Warframe shouldn't be headshots: the game.

Any particular reason you don't recommend Viral + Slash on the same build at the same time?
If you go for Status based Slash (not Hunter Munitions) then you get less slashes overall the more competing elements you have on the weapon 😉
@@MHBlacky_ENG Makes sense! It would be interesting to see if there's a breakpoint, like where you can afford to lose a certain number of slash procs due to the Viral procs buffing your damage, but that kind of fine-tuning might just be overkill.
You can also very easily get viral from your companion these days, and if you're in a squad odds are somebody's going to cast Nourish these days...
@@Joe90h Agreed on the Nourish, however after the companion rework many of the companions offer benefits that are on par with or better than Viral procs. I definitely see a lot fewer Vulpaphylas in the wild than I used to.

I ended up getting a Bubonico riven that allowed me to proc heat, viral, radiation & corrosive on the alt fire alone. Dubbed Thee: "Kitchen Gun" >:D
Forgot to mention I also have the Atomic Fallout mod too, to make the build work

I've expected the bubonico...but for some reason, my beast melts everything, but for some reason not the infested anymore, I used to destroy EVERYTHING. Then I tested the steel path version of the Cambion Drift and...I was doing NOTHING to the infested, literally nothing how...?
Campion rift infested are strong agains viral damage. So mod it to corrosive, heat, radiation or anything else really.

Strum prime not available?? Got it a few days ago from relics…
It's vaulted currently, so you can't get any relics drooped as rewards. But you can still get the parts from previously owned relics!

Usually you'll see relics from primed frames in random missions for years after they're vaulted, and obviously you keep every relic you have regardless of whether they're vaulted or not.
Nidus Prime, Strun Prime and Magnus Prime were vaulted when Wisp Prime released.
I'm happy for you ^^ But you know, not every Prime is always farmable so there will be situations where people watch this vid and then realize there's no way they can farm it at that point 😉
