i’m cisgender but i am very uncomfortable about my chest and have been for years. hell, i even went through an eating disorder. i’ve summed up the courage to ask my mother about getting a binder and she said yes :))) very happy, thx for the vid
Omg same same!! I pretty small but I’ve got big boobs, which makes me so uncomfortable in certain outfits, so I’m excited to try one of these to boost my confidence!
I’m Agende… but so happen to have fully recovered from an ED last year I’m naturally very small chested anyway it’s hormones that can drastically change mine for awhile due to PCOS. For me a binder isn’t just for dysphoria it’s for comfort because I literally have to use my forearms to support my chest even walking around the house because they hurt as I’m not use to having boobs. I’ve tried bras they hurt like hell being autistic and ADHD doesn’t help with sensory overloads of clothes and size changes in terms of how to move about and getting use to being a different shape… ohhh curse the dreaded summer chub rub and boob aches!!! We stan thick thighs but in the summer 😩. Ordered my first two binders this morning can’t wait 🥰.
Oh my gosh you have answered my prayers this is so helpful - a trans owned binder company in the UK!? my friend is currently using totally unsafe improvised binding contraptions so now i can finally get him a proper, reliable one!!
@@blueriver. that’s such a nice thing of you to do, im getting my first binder tomorrow and I’m so excited! I can imagine how grateful your friend was for that, it’s sad that so many people had to resort to unsafe ways to feel comfortable with their gender, your a really good friend:)
I can imagine the spectrum binders working a lot better for smaller chests like gc2b does, underworks works so much better for people with larger chests. i have a large chest and gc2b binders dont work for me at all, i wear an underworks large tritop and it makes me so flat and hasnt caused me any pain. it hasnt stretched at all and it's over 2 years old. i would recommend underworks for larger chests and gc2b (or spectrum?) for smaller chests but at the end of the day it's all abt the persons individual body!
nope, mine is brand new but it’s SO stiff, it literally creases rather than wrinkling. it’ll probably work pretty well because of that, it’s like really tight. i’m a kids M&S D cup and it made be completely flat
@@lime5247 I would call it medium but it's also important to look if the squish is balanced. A person with a large chest but not much squish around that will probably find gc2b to be the best for them but if you just overall have more squish to your body underworks works better for most.
I've just ordered my first spectrum binder, chose the cream so it feels more natural I guess, thank you to you and everyone in the comments who helped me so much in my decision, thank you guys 💖
I’m glad you mentioned that underworks binders stretch out fast. I’ve been trying to decide between underworks and gc2b because I’ve had the same binder for about 3 years now and Im definitely needing a new one.
Does anyone else feel that the gc2b binders don't really work with a bigger chest? Mine hardly does anything, it's the right size but just doesn't do the job, whereas my underworks binder is great
For me neither gc2b nor underworks flatten me. My issue with gc2b is that I did the sizing chart and I was right in between a medium and a small so I sized up, but after a month or so when the medium was broken in, it was too big and not binding me anymore. That's when I went and got a small and the small was a lot tighter (not too tight though), but it still doesn't flatten me. It's because the front panel on the small isn't wide enough to cover my whole chest, and the stretchy back on the medium is too much so it doesn't compress. Underworks doesn't work because they're awful-- even though they hurt they make me even less flat than gc2b.
I only use underworks as I have a large chest that reaches below my ribs so Spectrum and gc2b aren't suitable. Underworks are pricy as hell but I've never had an issue
Ryan Lee I use a full length and I've never had the armpit issue. They do roll up but only up to my hips and a quick yank-down in a bathroom fixes it right up. It does make my chest look a bit funky if I don't layer my clothes but that's due to my body, not the binder
I used to wear the GC2B tank top, it was my favorite binder! I had quite a large chest but that made me really flat, the binding panels are a bit longer on the tanks than on the half-binder.
Thanks for the recommendation on binders. A UK based company is definitly worth looking at, as although my GC2B binder is great, I’ve been hit with import costs and it sitting for three weeks in customs.
I finally got a gc2b binder a few months back and it was £45 i think plus customs charging which was £13 so im looking forwards to having a uk based company ayeee
So good to hear about new binder companies!! I'm also in between sizes with gc2b so my first binder was a M and it was super comfortable but not flattening enough, so when i got money i bought an S, so now i use the M one on days i know i will be out for too long and the S one for days when i'll only be out for 6-8 hours
Sweet, this video came at a perfect time, I'm questioning and kinda working up the courage to get a binder and didn't know whether to go ahead and just get a gc2b one or wait for spectrum's launch(I'm in the UK). So this video has been really great in helping me make a more informed decision, as there is obviously a lot less information out there about the spectrum binders, thank you!! :D
Right after I had top surgery, they started coming out with GC2B binders and now spectrum. I wish they had these when I was binding, but I'm so glad they are helping others now. Underworks breaks the bank and backs.
if you're right on the edge between sizes - let's say ur chest size is a 36, small is a 34-36 while medium is 36-38 - you really should go with the larger size. it could be bad for your chest and ribs going with the smaller!! thank you for your review jake and for suggesting a new binder brand to try out!!
One of my main issues with gc2b has been customs charges. I have 2 and each time I got charged £16 on top of the £35ish for the binder and postage so I’m really looking forward to a UK based company for a new binder that definitely has no risk of customs (I also really like the green colour)
Even though I'm relatively small-chested, I don't know what my life would be like if I didn't have a binder. I've been wearing GC2B binders for a little more than two years now, and I forget how lucky I am. I very much take my binder for granted, even though I try not to. My dysphoria is only getting worse, but binders make it decidedly more bearable.. Most of the time. While I cannot speak for Spectrum, I do very much recommend GC2B.
This is great news! I'm very happy with gc2b, but the wear out so fast. My underworks stayed the same for years no matter how much I wore them, but my gc2b ones last me a year at most. Really hopeful for spectrum!
god yes, sizing is SO TRICKY. thank you for talking about this. my shoulders are on the border between small and medium for gc2b. i couldn't get the small past my shoulders, so i traded in for a medium. i'm waiting for it to come - hoping it works!
Im between going for medium and large but as they say you sgould usually for the larger one and never down. The chart suggest I am a medium but have doubts
@@PrincessofKeys the chart was a little confusing for sure! i was legitimately scared when i tried pulling the small over my shoulders, so i noped out of it and went for the larger; the med is a bit looser and things slide around sometimes, but it's comfy, breathable, and mostly flat (...mostly). sizing is tricky. but returns are super easy if you need to, just make sure you're not wearing deodorant or anything on your face that could stain the material when you try it on. i hope it all works for you with ease n speed
Hey Jake! Thanks for making this review! It's awesome that there's now a Europe based binder brand!! I never really understood if it's possible to swim in a gc2b binder, bc some people say you can and some say the opposite; is Spectrum better for swimming? Since they're both good and approximately the same prize, swimming is the only criteria I can use to decide which one to get! Thanks
You can swim in gc2b binders I’ve done it for years. If you’re looking for a binder specifically made for swimming I recommend the bareskin binder from flavnt streetwear
All of the binders that are my size at GC2b are sold out and im really sad, they do have one that is my size at spectrum outfitters, but I don’t know if I’m measuring myself correctly for spectrum outfitters, where are measured myself is I am a size double XL for binders. But this is with GC2b chart. Do I measure myself for spectrum outfitters?
They both equally make ya sweaty and hot but equally flatten. I prefer spectrum though overall. I have 4 binders so I can have a clean one more or less all the time.
No custom fees?? fuck yeah, I didn't have any on my first binder but the second i had to pay like 14 quid extra. I was going to get a new binder in the next 3 months so i'll definitely try this company out
Fantastic video. I don’t have a binder yet and have been waiting since probably August for Spectrum to launch theirs. Would love one before the year is out.
I had an issue with gc2b binders because my shoulder width put me in the large category but my chest size put me in a small. The advice of the company was I had to go for a large because of my shoulder size. But as expected it doesn't bind me well at all. I now just use my gc2b when I'm doing a lot of physical activities or don't feel like binding tightly
I had the same problem with gc2b I ordered a s but actually my chest size was xs but my shoulders weren't then It was to big for me and I still saw a bit of the chest im going to buy a Spectrum binder and I hope its going to help!
my first binder was an underworks one and i could never wear it - super uncomfortable and digging and itchy. i am trying to figure out where to get another one (im between fluxion and spectrum) and THANK U for saying u dont like underworks. i agree!!!!
I’ve had my underworks binder for about a year almost and it hasn’t stretched at all, not knocking on what you’re saying but just putting my experience out there as well
He said something that is not correct. If you are in between sizes always go to the bigger one because it can be damaging, also you are going to get a better result. Gc2b put that on their website
I bought a spectrum binder for my friend. He's worn it ever since! So I'd say, it was very much worth it! Also getting one for myself too. I won't say I am completely diagnosed with it, but I'm pretty sure I have body dysmorphia, according to my trans friend (the one I mentioned earlier) so I'm hoping I'll actually save up for another one! I just need to stop continuously buying food whoOps
I once wore my gc2b medium binder (i'm the size small, but i didn't break into my smaller binder yet) for 17,5 hours without a break and it was so fucking terrifying. i actually wanted to take a break for 30 mins, but there were people fucking in the bathroom, so fml. i was sore for another 2 days and it was so bad, don't do that...
I don't really like underworks either, mine works well but it's a full length one and far too long so it bunches at the end and is uncomfortable and it's made of that not super comfortable mesh. I have a gc2b now and since I've got it my underworks has been abandoned.
Spectrum is actually quite a bit more expensive than gc2b. gc2b is 33 to 35 US dollars and Spectrum is about 46 US dollars and that doesn't include whatever the shipping may cost.
Booklover gc2b is £30 and spectrum is £35 but the most important difference is in the shipping, gc2b you pay £5 for really long shipping but for spectrum it’s free and takes 3-7 days which with gc2b you spend an extra £20 for that guarantee.
For people in the UK, it's about half the cost to get from spectrum because of import charges and shipping. My last one cost about £65ish from gc2b but getting one from spectrum cost £35.
Gc2b never worked for me, I have a bigger chest so I went for the large, that was way to big even tho my measurements were right, so we went with a medium which was smaller than my measurements, still didn't do anything to my chest
My newest (first) GC2B binder got to the city across the river from my house, and then I had to pay an extra £13 in customs, which was very annoying, so watch out for that. Also, the inside panelling is uncomfortable if worn for too long, as it's scratchy and (not to be explicit or anything) hurts the nips. However, it flattens extremely well, and doesn't really hurt my ribs. Also, I do NOT recommend Underworks. I was between two sizes and got the smaller one (I know you shouldn't really do that, but I was like fourteen). When I tried it on, it was wayyyyy too big and barely flattened me at all, to the point where I had to wear a sports bra underneath it because if I didn't my chest would fall down throughout the day and essentially be squashed downwards. Granted, my bad experience may be influenced by the fact that I was a young nb kid who wasn't out to my friends or family, so I had to buy it entirely on my own and really struggled with the instructions/returns policy/shipping costs etc. *EDIT: I watched to the end, and SHOOT, everything about this company sounds perfect?? Ethical production, simple free returns, designed by trans men, decent prices, breathable to reduce sweating, non-irritable, discrete packaging, only 3-5 days to ship rather than 5 weeks, AND YOU CAN SWIM IN IT? Sign me the fuck up.*
@@raincasthills5013 it shouldn't be an issue anymore because since i posted this comment GC2B has opened a uk/european shop online (before i could only buy from the us and get it shipped to scotland)!!
Okay soo I don’t know where to start😅sorry if this is annoying but.. I’m a trans man, Pre T. And I have no idea on where to start with my transition..I’m from Tanzania which makes it even harder because the services are not available here..any tips?
really considering getting a spectrum binder. ive had a gc2b binder for like 4 years and it literally stopped working within a few months of me wearing it and never fit right even though i had the right size. i literally had B cups back then and even with a pretty small chest gc2b just pushed it up and did about as much as a sports bra. i literally had to replace the elastic back it wore out so fast. i heard that underworks binders are better for bigger chests but any site that i found them on had literally 90€ shipping so maybe ill just have to go with spectrum and drop 60€ plus customs tax and pray that it works better than this flimsy bs because returning it will just cost me more than trying to alter it to work better ughhh im so indecisive. heres praying theyll restock soon
My gc2b binder was honesty so bad it was really scratchy and irritated my nipples and after not even a couple weeks the threads started coming out. I could look past the feel and just wear something under it but once the threads started coming out i was just so annoyed. I have a large chest and it didn't keep me as flat as I would like and so I decided just to wear tighter sports bras. If I'm not gonna be flat I'd rather at least be comfortable.
If you have a bigger chest, you should get the smaller one if you're in between sizes. If you have a smaller chest please go for the bigger one because rips aren't as squisgy as your chest. This is speaking for people that are rather skinny. If you have more fat in general those rules probably don't apply but I don't know.
i have a shit ton of gc2b binders and im considering buying a spectrum one… they are just so expensive which makes it hard to decide if i should try another brand or deal with what i know works but has flaws 😭😭
desperately waiting for the spectrum binder release bc gc2b's shipping to my country was so fucking expensive. so I'm hoping the shipping from the UK will be less.
my underworks has kept me flat for a few years now yet my gc2b i had for 3 motnhs and it got so stretched out it may as well been a sports bra... any good binders for larger chest size?
I have a problem with my GC2B binder it stretched out in only 5-6months, it doesn't binds as much as the beginning and my boobs keep slipping so it's useless. And it's not like I wear it everyday no I didn't wear it that much like never more than 2 days/week. So I'm desperate I think I'm going to try spectrum ;_; so! thanks for the video I was desperate to find another binder now I'm going to subscribe :D
Okay what do I do if I have a 12 hour day with no time to take my binder off and I have severe pain in my chest, lungs and heart? I've been binding so long and so much that I can't wear binders longer than about an hour without pain but I also can't stop going to school and stuff. Top surgery is not anywhere in the near future and my orthopedist is telling me that binding is doing long-lasting damage to my body and I should stop immediately. But again, I am super dysphoric about my chest and can't go out without binding... any ideas?
WHERE'S MISHA?!?! Like everyone else is saying, a sports bra would be much safer. If you have a bigger chest, I've heard of people using two at a time. I know it won't give you the same results as a binder, but it can definitely help and would be much safer. I know dysphoria is hell, but please put your health first.
Using two sports bras or one that’s significantly too small can actually cause more damage than binding because it pressure is concentrated on the band at the bottom, but with binders it’s spread out. I would say wear a properly fitting sports bra and LAYER!!! Layering clothes can do a lot more than you would think.
Drew G. Is it still so damaging if they're pretty comfortable? I tend to wear one that's two sizes too small, I find it pretty effective and really quite comfy, and I hate layering because I get so warm
Hello. My name is Blaine and I've tried to get a binder through like the 'free binder give aways' that a couple companies have here in the US, however, my application is never accepted. I would love to get your extra binder because I need it. Thank you for considering. I've been watching your channel for a while because you're really great and I aspire to be like you when I'm older.
Personally i really dislike GC2B it just doesn’t work for me and mine stretched out in like 2 months and i can barely use it anymore (and it was the right size) and I’ve just had good experiences with underworks

No custom fees?? fuck yeah, I didn't have any on my first binder but the second i had to pay like 14 quid extra. I was going to get a new binder in the next 3 months so i'll definitely try this company out
Just ordered one of these binders 😎 super excited to get it as the binder I have at the moment isn't very good at all...
I now just use my gc2b when I'm doing a lot of physical activities or don't feel like binding tightly
ayyyye congrats to y'all getting a good uk based binder company! hella neat 👌
a year and a half
someone i know has had theirs (the same one) for 3 years without any other one xD
apparently I’m a medium in spectrum, but it acted like a loose crop top. Yet I can’t get into a small ,,, eh I don’t really like spectrum. At all.
I had the same problem with gc2b I ordered a s but actually my chest size was xs but my shoulders weren't then It was to big for me and I still saw a bit of the chest im going to buy a Spectrum binder and I hope its going to help!
@@cats496kanal7 how did it go dude?
my first binder was an underworks one and i could never wear it - super uncomfortable and digging and itchy. i am trying to figure out where to get another one (im between fluxion and spectrum) and THANK U for saying u dont like underworks. i agree!!!!
I’ve had my underworks binder for about a year almost and it hasn’t stretched at all, not knocking on what you’re saying but just putting my experience out there as well
me and my mum have been waiting since their original release date for them to come out and we’re excited lol
He said something that is not correct. If you are in between sizes always go to the bigger one because it can be damaging, also you are going to get a better result. Gc2b put that on their website
SIZE UP if you're in between sizes, never EVER size down that is so so unsafe, you're just going to hurt yourself and it WON'T bind any better
Gc2b never worked for me, I have a bigger chest so I went for the large, that was way to big even tho my measurements were right, so we went with a medium which was smaller than my measurements, still didn't do anything to my chest
to model them, to model them 😋😘🤩😄👍
Hey Jake - are you planning to ever get top surgery? I know not all FTM's do. I was just wondering.
You are supposed to take the biggest size if you're in the border, it's a lot safer
August I just ordered one, what is customs?
@@raincasthills5013 it shouldn't be an issue anymore because since i posted this comment GC2B has opened a uk/european shop online (before i could only buy from the us and get it shipped to scotland)!!
Anyone know how well Spectrum binders handle big chests?
Okay soo I don’t know where to start😅sorry if this is annoying but..
I’m a trans man, Pre T. And I have no idea on where to start with my transition..I’m from Tanzania which makes it even harder because the services are not available here..any tips?
I want a spectrum binder like now ommggg 😭
really considering getting a spectrum binder. ive had a gc2b binder for like 4 years and it literally stopped working within a few months of me wearing it and never fit right even though i had the right size. i literally had B cups back then and even with a pretty small chest gc2b just pushed it up and did about as much as a sports bra. i literally had to replace the elastic back it wore out so fast. i heard that underworks binders are better for bigger chests but any site that i found them on had literally 90€ shipping so maybe ill just have to go with spectrum and drop 60€ plus customs tax and pray that it works better than this flimsy bs because returning it will just cost me more than trying to alter it to work better ughhh im so indecisive. heres praying theyll restock soon
I really recommend the spectrum binders personally
They are the best I've tried
Plus they are swim safe
Great video Jake.
Some people got 6 binders don’t feel bad
i have a shit ton of gc2b binders and im considering buying a spectrum one… they are just so expensive which makes it hard to decide if i should try another brand or deal with what i know works but has flaws 😭😭
desperately waiting for the spectrum binder release bc gc2b's shipping to my country was so fucking expensive. so I'm hoping the shipping from the UK will be less.
You can also swim in gc2b binders
Thinking of getting a spectrum binder soon, my gc2b back panel completely blew out so I need a new binder anyways.
I bought a gc2b binder in February and it already stretched out too much, it doesn't make me look flat anymore
I ordered one to America recently and with shipping and all that it worked out to about 67$ with shipping
which would you say is softer? i have sensory issues, and my gc2b is fine, but if there’s something softer i want it ☺️
super great video!!!
We would say so! ;)
Binderman binderman can he breathe no he cant
Does it ship to United Arab Emirates (Middle East)
my underworks has kept me flat for a few years now yet my gc2b i had for 3 motnhs and it got so stretched out it may as well been a sports bra... any good binders for larger chest size?
I have a problem with my GC2B binder it stretched out in only 5-6months, it doesn't binds as much as the beginning and my boobs keep slipping so it's useless. And it's not like I wear it everyday no I didn't wear it that much like never more than 2 days/week. So I'm desperate I think I'm going to try spectrum ;_;
so! thanks for the video I was desperate to find another binder now I'm going to subscribe :D

Personally I wear a sports bra that's a few sizes too small, pretty effective for my chest size at least, cheap and comfy
depending on the size of your chest, you could also try KT Tape
My bra size is 36 c any size recommendations ? I go by gc2b
Flavnt binders are amazing
I'm so getting a Spectrum to swim in, but what about the bottoms?
Are binders the same as minimizer sport bras? I'm female but ignorant about all this.
Holy shit you can swim in them. I have one and I didn't know that, that's so exciting
How long do they take to ship internationally? For gc2b I mean. It's been 25 days and I live in Germany
._.
You can swimm in gc2b as well^^
I don't now what size to get? help
Personally i really dislike GC2B it just doesn’t work for me and mine stretched out in like 2 months and i can barely use it anymore (and it was the right size) and I’ve just had good experiences with underworks
Does spectrum ship world wide?
Hey Jake can you do an apartment tour???
