First time hearing Samara - such a rich tone and groove! I got yer three little words - how ‘bout SHE IS AWESOME or SHE’S MY FAVORITE! Then there’s the trio: they all play like they’re 2X their age. The communication, swing and solos were off the charts! What a great way to start a Sunday morning!
straight up magical music of the spheres, so glad she won the grammy so those of us who were slow on the uptake and hitherto unapprised of the Samara situation could have a field day of listening pleasure today
I'm a jazz baby from past & present she is a blessing from the Lord and her family gifted and bless just 23 beautiful future is all her body of work speak for it
Just love the quality of her voice. Samara`s phrasing style is refreshing and her unique vocal timbre suits Jazz to a T. I would love to hear her do some other standards.
I just noticed something while transcribing the bass. It sound like they play in E but visually it looks like they play in F. Was the piano in the venue transposed or is it a video edit?
Kind of, but the bridge of Three Little Words is distinct. They are similar in that they both use diatonic harmony (stay in the same key the whole time).
Samara sounds great as always but this video seemed to focus more on the pianist. The videographer gave him a lot more attention. I wanted to see Samara up close.
Hearing this one of a kind talent…GOD we gonna be fine. The energy is real the gift is real. Black GIRL Magic still rising❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful smooth and phat voice reminds me of Sarah Vaughan
Samaras voice is so Smokey cool , her syncopation so on spot- unique voice . Her material and vocalization leverage her strengths marvelously.
Its downright magical💫
That piano player is a genius!
The first 16 bars of the piano solo are pure swing genius in its most distilled form
Love this! The sultry voice of Samara, backed by the tasteful Emmet Cohen Trio!!!

she's turning into one of the greats!
Turning into?? She already is!!
@@deewynn she's young, still developing. Wirh time come maturity and perfecting of the jazz language.
She seems very humble and seems surprised at the adulation she is getting. As for Emmet and the gang, they are a joy to watch.
Her tone and phrasing are brilliant!

Her voice is incredible! Fantastic job guys! Also anyone ever noticed that Emmett Cohen and John Bernthal look pretty similar?

Nice! Will you be having other events like this? I'm in Brooklyn and would love attend.
Nice comping, solos and George Shearing chords, hell you're a genius! Samara's wonderful, but the meat is in the accompaniment.
👍👍👍
😊 ✨
It's Nina!
No doubt, She knows about Sarah!
And Nancy too!
I just noticed something while transcribing the bass.
It sound like they play in E but visually it looks like they play in F.
Was the piano in the venue transposed or is it a video edit?
I guess it's the same armonic progression of "I'm gonna lock my heart"
Kind of, but the bridge of Three Little Words is distinct. They are similar in that they both use diatonic harmony (stay in the same key the whole time).
@@halcyonacoustic7366 I see, you're perfectly right!

What is the song in the outro?
I believe it's "Tea For Two"...
Phil chisels a solid bass into the granite time
The performers perhaps go to the same hair stylist; they are very talented musicians.
Samara- stick with that bass player…
