      I know it’s been renewed for a third and final season but I’m afraid of Hilda getting the boot and its third season being unreleased.
      Because Inside Job was renewed too and look how that turned out.

    Going back to Pan's video review of Inside Job is interesting in light of recent news. Don't get me wrong, I feel deeply for the animators who now have a year-long gap in their portfolio because Netflix will not release all the work they did in any form (even Zaslav promises the return of several cult-classic and popular shows removed from HBO Max onto other platforms, though time will tell if those assurances are more than empty words). I feel for viewers, who, like myself, feel betrayed every single time a show ends on a cliffhanger that will never be resolved due to Netflix's incompetence and no longer want to watch series in general.
    ...But outside of the stellar Toon Boom rigs, it was an alright show at best that had some very annoying, unfunny reference humor (imo, humor is subjective). Unfortunately I agreed more with Pan's "meh" review of Inside Job than Saberspark's effusive praise at the time. Hopefully this is will be a cautionary tale for the rest of the animation industry to not rely on cliffhanger season finales until Hollywood and Netflix develop more respect for the art of animation. Given that we seem to alternate between good decades (1990's, 2010's) and awful overly-corporate decades (1980's, 2000's, and of course our escapist entertainment has to suck, too, in the 2020's), hopefully that glorious day when companies realize people are more likely to support shows they like comes in 2030.

    Wait how can a streaming service cancel a show after one season when they signed a contract saying they would deliver two seasons? This seems absolutely maddening. Why would I ever sign up anything with Netflix now that I know they can just break their contract anytime they want to. Like you can say the show wouldn't exist without them but if it's between that or it being unfinished forever I feel like I take the former

    • @JeffreyThrash
      @JeffreyThrash 2 года назад +1

      It's maddening for the consumers, too. I only watch one-off movies like Del Toro's Pinocchio now because Netflix shows always seem to over-rely on cliff hangers to make us "binge-watch," in hopes that the conclusion will be worth the time investment. Netflix tends to leave the first season of shows like Inside Job and Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance on the service, too, knowing full well that less-savvy viewers will be left waiting for a second season that will never come. How can ANYONE trust Netflix, outside of the showrunners for Stranger Things?

    • @Popcultureguy3000
      @Popcultureguy3000 2 года назад +3

      @@JeffreyThrash Honestly, the more industry people openly airing out their frustrations with how Netflix handled their shows, the less industry people, be they individual creators or production companies, will want to work with Netflix. So let’s just encourage them all to air out their frustrations with them, Jim Henson Productions and the Inside Job animation crew probably feel the same way as you.

    • @JeffreyThrash
      @JeffreyThrash 2 года назад +3

      @@Popcultureguy3000 That's the thing I've been learning recently. On one hand, social media is just needlessly depressing now because it's all just complain, complain, complain. On the other, that's the whole point--if the Internet was nothing more than cute kitty videos, then Sonic still would have looked hideous in the first Sonic movie and gotten lower reviews (although contrarians say that the movie would have been more interesting if they kept "Ugly Sonic"), companies like Activision-Blizzard would have succeeded in making everyone outside their rapid fans forget all about their controversies, James Corden would still have be getting top Hollywood jobs after harassing that innocent waitress like the Karen he is, and of course we would all still be blissfully unaware of Netflix's incompetence at finishing what they started (especially with animated shows).
      I know I won't be shopping my stuff around to Netflix. They're clearly flailing, anyway, because people are no longer liking the "binge-watch" model of storytelling when they would rather pace themselves watching recent weekly shows like, uhh, Rings of Power.

    Nah, that was just Lego recycling moulds for parts they weren't going to make anymore. Pretty sure they do that all the time. It's amusing that the average person doesn't remember the Bionicle reboot in 2015, that flopped so hard it was officially cancelled halfway through its second year. I regularly forget that Bionicle G2 had a Netflix animated series as well.

    tokyo xtreme racer has its niche
    Japanese Tuner enthusiasts, Wangan Midnight Fans, Initial D fans
    The Tokyo expressway is a staple of Japanese street racing, along with their mountain passes. That's why it's prominently featured in their games. Genki laser scans their tracks, but I don't think they're a AAA dev, so it's easier to focus on that highway. The series's structure and gameplay loop gets mileage out of this big map.
    the differences in games are usually just graphics, car lists, physics, handling, and occasionally maps. the games have reoccurring characters. I'll never get tired of seeing Rolling Guy.
    only freaks who are weirdly into japanese car games would eat up the franchise
    im freaks

I'm a big fan of the Ghost and Molly Mcgee and fear a lack of attention is going to kill the show despite a good mix of supernatural junk with relatable hijinks and likeable characters because there isn't a save the world plot.

    Question for everyone: What is a franchise or I.P that has exclusively been in live action that you feel could potentially benefit (creatively or commercially) if it where to take itself in an animated direction.
    For me, I used to think it was Napoleon Dynamite since the characters had potential to be used in more creative, episodic adventures, but the 2012 series clearly proved me wrong, lol.
