It’s not the worst cartoon I’ve ever watched, but still pretty bad. You know how it’s trendy to say that reboots actively hate the source material, fans, and things in general? This is one of the two times that’s actually true. The other one was Dark Crisis: Young Justice.
Velma could work, but it not only talks down to the audience but it constantly bashes its agenda against your head and they made the main lead very unlikable, and when you think there’s gonna be a positive change, she flips back on whatever she was supposed to learn and turns it all about herself. Which yeah it is supposed to be about her but I don’t wanna follow a unlikable person who constantly acts like a victim, while talking down on or laughing at everyone else’s problems
Throughout the franchise most of the mystery gang has had versions where they were well off if not outright rich. Most being from Mystery Inc where Fred's adoptive father was the mayor and Daphne's family was depicted as very wealthy, Velma family was also shown to be well off owning multiple business. Outside of that Shaggy however has had the most consistently rich family with 3 very well off uncles, an immensely wealthy jewel dealers, a billionaire scientist and... a confederate general whose plantation Shaggy inherited in the boo brothers
36:00 Surprised Pan didn't immediately think of Master Shake's VA, Dana Snyder, whom he said he wanted to voice his character back when he was inventing himself.
I’d love for WB to make a direct to VOD and Home Video adaptation of Future Quest, the comic book crossover of all the Hannah Barbara action shows that was a part of the first wave of “Hannah Barbara Beyond” comics. With a lot of the comic focusing on the characters just meeting up, you could make a good adaption by shortcuting things by making the Earth bound heroes like Birdman and Johnny Quest already know each other, and just have the alien heroes like Space Ghost and the Herculoids be the strangers that have to overcome their differences to work together to kill the evil glowing glob that’s slowly consuming the universe. Basically just avoid the mistakes the DC’s New Frontier adaptation made by trying to adapt as much as they can in the limited time a Direct to Home Video budget gives you, and keep the spirit of the piece intact.
Hey! I just wanted to thank you all for answering my question, it made me feel giddy! It was really nice to hear you guys go more in depth on Amphibia. Sasha is also my favorite character. But this podcast did tell me that Pan needs to watch more cartoons though lol.
Ah, I didn’t get to finish this episode when it initially dropped but thanks for answering my question at the end there, Pan. Was always kind of curious about the visual process when putting together your videos. So thanks again. 🙂
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The franchise has had plenty of reboots, all of which have been successful in their own right. In fact, reboots are such a core part of the series at this point people actually *look forward* to see what crazy changes the next iteration of the show will have.
Here’s how I’d make Velma better. The scooby soo gang are gone and the only one who is still there is Velma so she tries to form her own gang to track her old gang down. (What do you think?)
The premise of the show could work, it’s the writing and characterization of some characters especially the lead that makes the show, not necessarily bad cause there are things i like, but kinda annoying and cringe, also the fact they don’t add Scooby doo for being unrealistic while still having unrealistic things for the sake of comedy happening is kinda hypocritical
Throw in Hot Dog Water and the ex-villainess from the latest Direct to VOD Scooby-Doo movie and you got an instant gay love triangle to make all the conservatives complain and draw attention to the show, and we got ourselves a hit!
Would Detective Conan and Scooby-Doo make for a good crossover? Now Pan’s got me thinking about whether their two styles of mystery would mesh well together. And has Scooby-Doo ever done an episode dedicated to an Agatha Christie style mystery with posh upper crust members of British high society and one American playboy or flapper girl thrown into the mix? Is Knives Out Warner Bros? Could we get a Benoit Blanc crossover for an Agatha Christie spoof on a hypothetical Scooby-Doo & Guess Who season 4?
Question. First of all big fan I've been listening at work since my co workers shunned me so I pop in the podcast and vibe. My question is what do you think of Xavier renegade angel? I don't see anyone really talk about it. Thanks!
Peggy Hill is not only awful, but truly awful. She has gone against her family more than supported them. Like when Bobby learns to cook she sabotages him out of jealousy and twice has poisoned Hank based on wanting to keep a secret. Not only does she often take credit for others talents, even when it is shown she is in the wrong she is never faulted. She just convinces herself she is correct. But I honestly believe she's meant to be unlikable and insufferable. It matches Hanks tenacity with which he tackles life.
Family, American dad, and other shows like that are funny. But their storylines become horrible later on. Like recently my mom got into American dad so we've started to watch it every time it comes on and some of these episodes especially the ones early on are really good. But the later ones just seemed so predictable or meh. They make for good clip content but watching it all at once just doesn't feel as good.
You are in an increasingly smaller minority in your opinion there. Did you even watch the TBS episodes “Bunny Ears” or “the 200”? I bet you only watched the first half of the first TBS season and gave up, it improved *Soooooo MUCH* at the end of that season and it was like watching freaking fireworks during these TBS episodes once the new and returning writers found their groove.
@@weirdo3116 Right, so you haven’t been watching it weekly like me, or catching up on Hulu or the The Pirate Bay like a lot of more “computer literate” people. Also why the hell should we listen to you if you’re half asleep watching it at 3 in the morning? No one is a great judge of quality when their brain is already in starting to shut down.
What do you think of Velma?

I don't like it, and to spare the rant, it would just be best if people ignored it and watched some better stuff to spurn HBO for their SINS!
Daphne's design is hot. And some of her friends are too. That's all I like about this show
It's absolutely awful and I doubt it'll get better. But I admire your optimism.
Throughout the franchise most of the mystery gang has had versions where they were well off if not outright rich. You know HBO made Velma as a tax-write off because it's not in the "Just Added" section anymore, only in the "New Episodes" section.

Velma is just Alex Yiik pass it on.

@@FatBongRip Thanks.
I'm glad Pan is watching Yu Yu Hakusho. Very good anime.
34:34 Pan that’s The Shield, not The Wire….lmao
That art of Velma being pregnant with Scooby almost made me vomit

Question for everybody: Which comic book/graphic novel would you like to see get an animated show/movie adaptation?
Sidekick was a great comic that I think would do very well on screen.

Also, thank you for reassuring me. That comment on Craig of the creek made me feel a bit better about some shows' chances to survive.

Question: What animated show do you think could get a reboot that would be IMPOSSIBLE to screw up?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

In fact, reboots are such a core part of the series at this point people actually *look forward* to see what crazy changes the next iteration of the show will have.
Jinkies, a new podcast!!!
I think you guys put the wrong artwork in during the break lol. That's my art not deku's.
Here’s how I’d make Velma better.

I like that Idea, I feel like you could slowly re-introduce the cast as the show goes on

When’s the Ken episode gonna happen?

Daftpina, thank you and please keep trying to get Pan to watch more cartoons.
Idk if anyone saw the 3rd and 4th episodes of Velma but imo it got worse somehow
Question: would you ever do a review of re animated and out of Jimmy's head in the near future?
i remember what this used to be

I don't like Peggy either tbh I don't hate her as much as bill though he's easily the worst character in the show
