I have always been intrigued with European History from the so-called Dark Ages, 800 A.D. to 1200 A.D. when I was in middle school. Thanks God she wrote this fact finding book on Black/Africans in Europe. The guest sounds extremely enlighten on the terminology that should be used to ensure Black people were enslaved rather than being SLAVES! GREAT!!!
The dark ages are a time after the Roman's left Britain 410ad until the establishment of the church in Britain, 700ad . Dark has nothing to do with black people, it's a time of knowledge under Roman empire where news spread within days , To invasion of Saxons into England by 450 , basically all the regular info coming from the crumbling empire had ceased The Saxons were *pagan and the Germanic peoples in general were overrunning everyone into east south western countries, France originally called Frankia after the Germanic tribe the Franks, visigoths and ostrogoths went into southern and eastern Europe and south into spain , so much upheaval and chaos, nobody had any interest to send messengers to England keeping them updated. Hence it was known as the dark ages, like a blanket had covered Britain regarding incoming or outgoing info . The blanket was lifted after Christianity became the dominant religion.
Dee. The Portuguese are black now? Ok, any others eg Spanish Italians Greeks? So this queen who possibly had a Moorish ancestor 500 years earlier is black because of the ? 1 drop rule?
The Portuguese were already in the Americas long before 1492. The history is fitted for the Columbus narrative however the Royal Archive of the Medina Sidonia family has the real records of that time.
Scotland has never had a black king and the only reasons this stupidity is claimed because people like you don't understand European history or the history of the British isles.the first thing to note is that “Black So-and-so” has always been, and remains to this day, a commonplace nickname in Scotland referring to hair colour. Somebody “the Black” need no more be African than Rob Roy MacGregor was Native American because ruadh means red. Furthermore, Kenneth was not actually called Cínaed Dubh at all, but Cínaed mac Dhuibh: Dubh was not a descriptor, but his father’s name. He was actually known as Cínaed an Donn.
many English people have black roots growing way back I was watching the program the other day with a woman who had sickle cell and she was a whiteand many of the Irish have curly hair afro zone that and English people the brunettes I called them the last shade ofblacness
There is a collection of views under the RUclips presentation of your book, The Untold Stories, Black Tudors. Most contributors expressed their surprise on the presentation for the audacious manner in which you brought some revelations, on what is perceived as hidden and here you are spilling the beans as it were. What I have come away with from listening to that podcast was how there has been a collective humanity within the human experience but has a divergence at the colour bar, which seeks to airbrush “ black” people out of world history. I thought I have heard it all, on any conceivable revelation so far. Yet the outrage does not seem to know any bounds with your suggestion in this Q & A session that everyone in the UK should take an ancestral DNA test, a point that perhaps was safely omitted to avoid controversy. I do not not think you are aware of what has possessed you since you entered the realms of this thought pattern. I hope you are aware the Tower of London is still standing and the Yeomen Warders would have their job cut out even if their great, great great grandmother came from Barbados; with an African genealogical line, a pun to go alongside the good work. Well thank you for your academic courage and a new chapter on accurate historical accounts.
