These people are the reason I drive to pick up my cars. Just drove back to Memphis Tennessee from Detroit with a 77 Lincoln town car on my trailer. I used a 91 Ford explorer for a tow vehicle. I got the truck as a payment for mowing some grass 😂.

This car takes me back to being a little kid. My mom had a 1997 Monte Carlo LS. It didn't have 5-spoke alloy wheels like this one, it had the ugly wheel covers, and the 3100 v6. She bought it almost new, at 38k, in 1999. This was the closest we've come to having a brand-new car. At that time she was dealing with depression and later on, she had a nervous breakdown. I think she purchased that car trying to soothe her depression but it didn't work. Thank goodness all that is behind us and my mom is still here today doing well.

My mum used to do the same sort of thing. Buying stuff to make herself feel better. One day she spent $800 on cosmetic stuff. Just to give it all away later as she was never going to use it. She even went as far as buying a new car, paying $2500 over retail and selling her old one for $500 after spending $2500 on tires, cat, timing belt two weeks before. She was struggling with cancer and on top had depression. It was her money, so I didn't care but wish I was there for her.

Remember to blow the heater full blast into the passenger area to quickly cool the system on many older cars. Not comfortable, but keeps it from blowing a gasket.

Every time car overheats, first thing I am doing is put heater on, it will have bigger cycle to run the water so it will cool down quicker and overheat slower. I never saw this car on my own eyes, nice car!

That same car here in NY for that same $1700 would get you Bluetooth rockers, maypop brake lines, strut tower rot, as well as rear trailing arm rot at half that mileage. That's why I buy stuff from there bc id rather put a few repairs in a vehicle with high mileage but good bones vs doing rust repair.

I had a 1995 Lumina LS which was built in Canada. The motor was 3.4L. Called the “boat motor” by dealership mechanics. In the day it ran strong and fast but when they break down it’s a nightmare. Had an oil leak that made me lose a quart a week. Problem was an O ring down in the middle of the motor. Was a student at that time no one wanted to touch it. Found a dealer who charged me dearly.
    Buyer beware.

  • @RyeitOut

I love the Z34 and the Lumina LTZ so much. Especially the one’s with 3800 V6. In 2016, I purchased a clean in perfect shape 1995 silver Monte Carlo LS that came from Canada to Michigan. Paid $700 for it but it had a leaky gas tank if filled. Ran extremely well with that 3100 V6 until it overheated and needed intake gaskets done. Coolant got mixed in with the oil. Got that fixed and ran good but someone did a hit and run. The driver slid into the back of me on ice and kept going. It was hit on the right side. Still drivable. It was a second car. I got rid of it and took it to the junk yard and got cash. Body shops claimed they couldn’t fix the damage because they couldn’t find parts due to it being so old. I still want another one but a Z34 with that bulletproof 3800 V6 engine.

You ain’t wrong about old cars costing more and more money. Husband bought a 1996 F-150 XL 4.9L last November I think. Has 195k miles on it and it has been an Indiana truck all its life. So far we’ve had to replace the radius arm, both front ball joints, rear fuel tank filler neck, and rear brakes. And now currently the oil pan gasket is leaking and we’ve got an ABS light on. We’ve just been topping the oil up until it goes in in 2 weeks to get that fixed. Then after that we’ll look into the ABS. He loves the truck and OBS trucks are getting harder and harder to find. So we really wanna keep it going.

Ok so I took your advice and went to best buy and bought a spool of Monster speaker wire and ran straight to the battery (no fuses required) connect to both fans run the wire like you said to a toggle switch on the dashboard and all should be fixed and good to go, right?😅😂🤣 Only joking, please do try this folks unless you have stupid vision. I’ve had a few fords and Pontiac GM motors cars from 2000-2005 years that if the car was idle the temp would go up but not completely overheat!
But once you start moving it would drop to normal!
It was a bad cooling fan. I just connected to battery with toggle switch so I can turn/off while car was off.. and a 2000 ford focus wagon that would not overheat over on the needle but the overflow would bubble/gurgle during idle. One I didn’t notice and I popped a hose! I changed thermostats and hose and fans worked but kept getting hot only during idle and only during summer or hot days! Never if weather was Under 75 degree outside

If you take the intake apart, then why not replace everything possible since you have it all apart. Prevents doing the same job twice, or take everything apart and find out everything you'll need.

I like the way you make your sound of radling or tapping it make me laugh every time and that car is nice.

The coolant sensor will be a grounding circuit for the fan relay. So you can ground that wire to make the fan come on.

Very cool as I love these cars and W body's in general. Not particularly rare though as Monte Z34's can still be found pretty regularly on FB Market, etc. The really rare Monte's are the one year only 1995 Z34's with the bench seat and column shifter. Very few were made. The Monte Carlo Z34 and Lumina LS sedan, (when optioned with code LQ1), with bench seat/column shifter are unicorns. The Lumina LS LQ1 sedan is WAY more rare than ANY 95-97 Z34. They were the only W body made from 91-97 that could be ordered with both the LQ1 and bench seat/column shifter...again, for 1995 only.

She will do great on a 10 mile run, she needs a paint job, fluids changed, some freon.some struts and new tires!!!😊👍
