Drums are insane! Not only technically, but in a creative way too. That's so rare in black metal drumming. Very nice. I even thought this was DRUM album, other instruments were just fillers.

A saying in Arabic is (translated): "The worst of misfortune/mischance makes a person laugh". I remember, when my cousin died, his mother laughed for a moment as she knew, obviously not for being happy, but immensely shocked.
This has all the dark, cold evilness of black metal fused with the sheer inventiveness and groove of the best of what math rock/metal has to offer. Very interesting mix. Not very often bands can hold onto that dark atmosphere when they go super complex and technical.

If you haven't checked out Kriegsmaschines Album before that, Enemy of Man, than go and listen to that RIGHT NOW. In my opinion it surpasses even the MGLA stuff by a notch.
I like how guitar and drums are so different. One is liquid in layers the other is... Well, the drummer is genius. They definitely had some fun creating this masterpiece.
I like that each album is a little different with Kriegsmaschine, altered states was pretty raw and straightforward, enemy of man a bit more modern and this one is more trancelike... the drumming is again the cherry on top for me.

This band have darker riffs than Mgla... holy shit!!! Just, awesome work! Truly masterpiece.
I like how guitar and drums are so different. One is liquid in layers the other is... Well, the drummer is genius. They definitely had some fun creating this masterpiece.
I like that each album is a little different with Kriegsmaschine, altered states was pretty raw and straightforward, enemy of man a bit more modern and this one is more trancelike... the drumming is again the cherry on top for me.
Drums are out of this world! You can't just pick a track, the whole album is perfect.

This drummer is plumb-loco! His contribution alone elevates this amazing LP well above the average for the genre. There is too much goin on in his playing to absorb inna single sitting... I'll be listening to this one again, I reckon. & I reckon that it will reward my close attention...
