  • In this episode of The Fishing Gurus Podcast is a former world champion, multiple White Acres Festival title-holder and fitness fanatic, Callum Dicks.
Callum has enjoyed an emphatic angling career, as he spent 17 years fishing with England on the international stage. During this time, he won countless medals too, most notably, he attained an individual gold medal in Belgium in 2008.
He now focuses most of his fishing on the domestic circuit, where he has won four White Acres Festival titles and has qualified for numerous big money finals. Additionally, he runs Bristol Angling Centre, where he regularly works to help and guide anglers in his local area.
In this episode of the podcast, Matt and Callum reminisce over their successful time fishing in Belgium together. The pair also discuss a variety of useful tactics used throughout Callum’s 17 yearlong international angling career.

These podcasts get better and better- Its hard to not keep bringing Will Raison up when the guests have either looked up to ,fished with, against and be taught by him... The fella is a legend dont apologise for it. There has been several takes on the international scene by steve, tom, will but callum really put a new perspective on how the pressures and the dedication can wear thin. This country needs to respect the international scene alot more as they are the creme of the crop and barly get any funding or recognition........ Yet eveyone loses their head when a BMXer does well at the olympics - This team have been doing well and competing at the highest level for decades

Respect to callum; to live every young fisherpersons dream to fish for their country and do well and to still get picked after earing people say its all down to someone else (will) must have been a huge gutrenching decision to leave England setup. Top respect

I really enjoy listening to Callum, but I’m very shocked that England management and certain team members would talk about Him in such a way.
He may have had help along the way from Will, but hasn’t every England angler had help developing by excellent anglers, he put the work in and it was Callum sat on the box getting good team points. It’s such a shame England lost a good angler, partly due to anglers who should know better.

I find it absolutely disgusting that you have to pay to fish for your country, I can't think of any other team sport where this happens. Nfa get it sorted there's must be money available to pay for these bloke's. It would be pennies on a rod licence to cover it . Come on this is your country
