I have brought this up a lot, but anyone who wants to make a video game adaptation should look at what Fallout did. I love those games and have played them a ton and I think they did a great job with the show. Halo is getting the opposite reaction from fans of the games.
The key in Fallout: build the world we expect and then plop some brand new characters with new stories into it that feel like they belong in this world. And it works!
I did enjoy the first season of Halo but I didn't play those games so I don't have any connection to Master Chief or any expectation for his character. And even me, who enjoyed the first season, thought the second season was horrible, so they've lost the little bit of grace I'd given them.
@chickginger yeah I've played all three a TON, they are probably 3 of my most played games ever, so I've been invested for all of them... and fallout was the only one I liked. Season 1 of Halo was better than this but still not great. But yes I think you are totally right.
Honestly for this they could have had the main line characters in it as secondary characters (but much better casting) that our main unknown vault hunters encountered.
So here's the real question: is it worse than the 1990s Super Mario Bros movie?

@chickginger haha for real, that's a video game masterpiece 🤌🏻😂 it was ridiculous, and hella 80s/90s the casting, unlike this movie, was spot on though.
@Hazel1911 honestly that is a difficult question, becasue that movie wasn't really like the games but it was so wild that there can be enjoyment there... this one is just missing anything to make it have heart or otherwise. It's not a "so bad it's good" type of thing I guess. So the best answer is yes, it's worse lol
