Love the colors! Ready for summer.
I just got the topper yesterday and have been playing around with it on different polishes. It makes my nails look like a Lisa Frank notebook and I really enjoy that.
Great swatch & review!! Thank you, Jess! I looove Kbshimmer, but I feel like they really shine in the shimmer/glitter realm. But they sure do go all out and give us all the things. Cannot fault them for lack of variety! In my humble opinion, any neon should be UV reactive. That topper is great!
Great review Jess! I really thought these would be similar to the KBShimmer Seas the Day collection which I have. So I am glad they are different l. Thanks for the great comparisons! Xx
I'm curious if you would consider doing comparisons to other brands? The teal one looks close to Cecilia from zoya and I wonder by how much. I also am curious if the blue is a dupe for Pacific blue by sally?
Nicole Loves did a comparison between Pacific Blue and the blue in her review of this collection -- the KB Shimmer blue is noticeably lighter than the OG Pacific Blue.
@@alyssa2891 thank you!
I stick to the same brand for comparisons just because of the size of my collection. It would be impossible for me to go through thousands of polishes and compare for every collection. There just wouldn't be a comparisons section if I didn't set some kind of parameter. I think comparing in the same brand makes more sense when it's a brand like OPI or Essie that put a lot of similar colors out year after year (and that's what drove me to include the segment in the first place). I get that it kind of falls short with brands that have more variety.
That being said, I consider the comparisons section as kind of the "first round". I welcome requests for other comparisons to dive a little deeper into it and I put those together in Shorts whenever I can. If there is a really obvious comparison that comes to mind, I'll include it initially, but I don't have a good mental catalog of my collection these days. It's hard to predict what colors others will think of that they want to see compared, so I'm kind of relying on the viewer's input to explore the comparisons further, if that makes sense.
@@jessFACE90 that makes sense, thank you for the insight!

I did enjoy the video. Thank you! ☺️
If you have time could you show a comparison between the new summer OPI shade Dream Come Blue and To the Max from this collection?
Love it.
❤
Speaking of comparisons, one technique that I would appreciate but none of the RUclips swatchers seem to do it is to compare similar colors across brands of the same season or recent season. Not every color release, maybe, just the ones that seem to be a trend. For instance, I've now seen that cornflower blue creme in at least two different brands this spring. I guess you'd have to wait until all the spring (or whatever season) collections are released from the brands that you review regularly. Maybe it could be, for example, "Lime greens across brands from the last six months."
You know I have always had this planned when a certain color is clearly trending and then I never end up actually doing it!
I got Scratch That, and honestly, I don't like it. it's way too much work😕
I feel like it's way hard to get anything on the brush, and by the time you get anything on the nail you've either put a bunch of coats, or you've made a globby mess
And then when it dried the stars, and the shred glitters caught on stuff and tore off leaving weird holes on my nail. Even with a top coat.
I've never been disappointed with KB, but this was a big miss for me
I like KB Shimmer, but not these. And not crazy about the topper. It just looks like they threw the junk and trash they had leftover into a vat of clear polish and gave it a name. So not digging that at all. I have a fair KB Shimmer collection but I prwtty much stopped buying them. I couldnt get good wear out of their polishes. At first, I thought maybe I got a bad batch or something. Then my next just randomly selected polishes did the same thing. I use a good base. I use Orly Bonder Base. You can't hardly beat that base coat. Then I topped with KB Shimmer Top. It's awesome as well. I then tried Sally Hansen Insta Dry Top. Nothing changed. So while I love their finishes and colors, for the price if I can't get more than 2 days before chipping... I'll pass.
I'm sorry to hear that. I hear that a lot about China Glaze but I don't think I've heard it much about KBShimmer. It sounds like your prep work is solid. I have such bendy nails that I don't usually get more than two days out of anything so my standards are much lower.
I had that problem when I used Orly Bonder Base. It took me a while to find a base/top coat combo that worked for me. I also was able to grow out my staining when I switched to a ridge filling base coat & stopped OBB. 😬
Seems like they just copied holo taco’s black flakie and some neons reminiscent of Orlys Lisa frank collections. Disappointing
well neons and black flakes did exist before Holo Taco and the Lisa Frank collection
@@jessFACE90 true enough, just the timing with the holo taco version seemed odd. But with production it’s probably something they’d planned long before and it coming out a few months later than another brands version was likely just a coincidence. And it’s not like I don’t love a cool black flake polish- I bought your entire smoothie collection from your polish brand. 🙂
Thanks for swatching! Do you happen to have any recs for a blue polish that is more neon than the one shown here? (Like Nine Zero Clear Skies which I missed out on! 🥲)
Colores de Carol is dropping a collection of bleached neon cremes that includes a blue that reminds me a lot of Clear Skies!
@@prettypurplepolishes ooh thanks for the heads up!
