Contrary to popular belief, the female Undead Merchant is not unkillable. If she survives being hit, she'll run away, but she only has 420 HP (Yes, I'm serious). You can kill her in regular gameplay if you just deal enough damage. There are actually a few other places besides bonfires where c1000 is used, such as the Plaque of Legends in the Battle of Stoicism, the Darkmoon Tomb entrance where Gwyndolin speaks to you, and, weirdly, one of the big graves in Firelink cemetery. I decided not to show all of them because everything ends up being basically the same as how the bonfire or Snuggly behaves. Also, there's a bit of a weird interaction with tails I didn't really go into. If you spawn it the normal way, by tail-cutting an NPC, setting the tail's HP to 0 does nothing. If you force spawn it separately, setting its HP to 0 causes it to vanish like a few of the other NPCs.
So a lot of quests were meant to be in Firelink. First the unused cutscene of the statue behind Frampt and now a grave that could have some interactions? Interesting.
@@Victor_StudentOfFloppa Well, I don't know what that looks like, but it's possible for Kalameet to die before Gough shoots him down. Gough actually has unique dialogue if the player does this, though I've never done it personally

Its possible it was just intended they would aggro on you if you hit them like other NPC's but we also see more of these serpents in the dark ending so its also possible they would have been regular enemies that most likely would have popped up over some bottomless pit or the abyss.
Its not a death animation, in another zullie video she explains what happens to the model when you hit frampt or kaath. When you deal enough damage to either they go away, its trying to call that animation while simultaneously fixing the error that it produced by unstretching the stretched neck of the serpents
It's interesting how some things were clearly planned to be killable, like the serpents and the everlasting dragon. The latter even makes the boss death sound effect. I wonder what causes the serpent dialogue loop. The game expecting more lines of dialogue? Another trigger to get you out of dialogue failing? Maybe it's both.
I think it has something to do with the death animation happening instead of the one where he just goes back into the shrine, cause it also stops the doors from closing after him.
