I understand that digital banks have higher interest rate but it usually just in the beginning. Interest rates fluctuates like in ING it was 4% then now it's only 2.5%. Same goes for CIMB and GSave.

With the news that ING is exiting the Retail Banking industry in the Philippines I wanted to know where I can transfer my savings that would give better interest rates compared to the regular commercial banks available. Appreciate your thoughts on this, especially the part wherein you stayed realistic about the interest rates, you set expectations that it might not stay the same forever and we need to acknowledge that but also enjoy the fact that it's currently available and a good rate at that!

Nice points on the customer service and the high interest rates. A lot of people don't understand that high int rates are initially a marketing strategy to get more customers at the start. Once they have a sizable amount of customers that uses their services, they will slowly introduce fees and lower their interest rates to get more money out of their services. It is still business at the end of the day and other international digital banks do this strategy as well.

hi thanks for sharing about the new digital bank in PH, tonik bank high deposits rate maybe allowed by the bsp for smaller bank capitalization like the rural bank category in which the BSP classified them thus they we're allowed a 4%-6% interest rate
