4% is just enough to cover the inflation, don't take anything lower than 4%, anything lower means the banks stealing your money away. Online based bank can afford to provide higher interest because they dont have buildings to maintain and less overhead, they pass on the savings to their customers. Diversify, save up to 500k to different banks.
That is the popular narrative that "inflation" is normal. That you have to be happy with the measly 0.25% interest per annum offered by brick and mortar banks. That you have to accept that they are making riches out of pooling their banking "clients" money and that .25% because of inflation is normal. Well, the cryptocurrency market has shown the light on this age-old tired system. If digital banks can offer higher interest, then just wait til people start lending stable coins on pcrypto lending platforms and get 8-12%. And people can get to decide when to bank, withdraw, without a central authority that only banks 7 days a week and from 9AM-5PM and wait for long lines.

Hi! I would just like to clarify since it's mentioned here and even on CIMB's site that there's no maintaining balance needed. But in reading through their UpSave Terms and Conditions, it's metioned under Account Opening that the ADB shall be maintained and there will be a charge if the account has below the ADB for 2 months. This is all new to me and it's confusing, so can someone please clear that up for me? Thank you!

Hey! They're downgrading the interest from 4% to 3% starting June if you have less than 100k in your bank account. The interest is computed according to your average daily balance. So, unless you have at least 100k, you'll get 3% p.a. for UpSave and 3.1% p.a. on GSave starting June. Hope this helps!

Yes, transfers within their mobile app between different CIMB accounts are instant! Very convenient when you need to withdraw or use it on your debit card kaagad. Hoping this answers your question!

Hi I would just like to clarify, if I'm just gonna make my account for any of the CIMB savings accounts will I still be eligible for the 4%? or Do the accounts have to be made before June 1?
Hey! They're downgrading the interest from 4% to 3% starting June if you have less than 100k in your bank account. The interest is computed according to your average daily balance. So, unless you have at least 100k, you'll get 3% p.a. for UpSave and 3.1% p.a. on GSave starting June. Hope this helps!

Lets say you transfer your funds from upsave to your fastplus card to withdraw your funds. Will that be an immediate thing ? Or do you have to wait for a couple of hours (days ?) for it to be on your card ?

Yes, transfers within their mobile app between different CIMB accounts are instant! Very convenient when you need to withdraw or use it on your debit card kaagad. Hoping this answers your question!
