This design is stunning! I just finished one in blue/sliver and want to do another one with teal/copper! I wish I could make my swishes look as good as yours are.
Sue! Honey pie you keep outdoing yourself!! How do you come up with these designs?? I love dotting, but my creativity is shot!! Thank you so much for all of your videos. I really appreciate you and your work. ❤️
Sue, you never cease to amaze me, I am really taken with this piece. I am sure it is more stunning seen live, especially with the metallics added. I also get the impression that the Golden Titanium White is brighter than the Americana Titanium White. Not that it would matter doing it here. What is the new tool you used for the large red swipes, it's purple/lilac and maroon in colour. Also I can't find Cinnamon Drop anywhere here. It looks too me like if I mixed in a small drop of black in, to deepen the true red, it may be in the right direction. What is your opinion? It's completely different having the paints in front of you, in picking up the right colour saturation. I am going in the right direct. We are so bless to have your artistic abilities available to us, in the tutorials you post. Thank you for your wonderful talent.
That tool is a 0.5mm embossing tool made by Pergamano. They are rather hard to come by because almost always out of stock. Amazon does sell them and the company itself does on their site as well. I purchased mine from here claritystamp.com/collections/embossing-tools but they too are out of stock as I just looked before posting this. It took me about a month of checking on them all over to find one. But they are great for moving paint ! And for TINY dots.
Sorry I forgot to add about the paint. Yes the Golden looks way more WHITE, as it is very pigmented paint. But I don't think the overall design would be impacted by using DecoArt if you that's what you own. Its not that much of a difference. As far as the Cinnamon Drop goes it is darker but I wouldn't add black I would add a dark plum color to true red to get something similar. If I take a dot of that color and smear it out it has a very vibrant (but dark) pink tint to it.
Wow! This is a show-stopper, Sue! Thank you once again for the inspiration. Question... both reds look the same on my screen, which one is lighter? I don’t have those colours and will be using other reds. Just wanted to get an idea of what the difference is between the two. Thanks so much 💖
Well hard to judge because I can not sit like I normally would yet so my best guess about six hours. But should be much quicker for you all as I was designing it too.
Hi Sue! Amazing work as always! You've been my best teacher on my journey. I notice that you are using a different brand of white paint. Was that a matter of what you have on hand or did you find a brand you like better? Thanks for everything that you do!
Hi Jenni, Golden is my favorite brand of paint but I always use DecoArt as it’s a nice consistency and more economical for those learning. Golden is artist grade and costs four times as much. The only reason I used it in this video is because I ran out of ALL the different shades of white I had in DecoArt brand and have been unable to find any anywhere locally. I need to see if I can find it online somewhere and have it shipped. Golden paints are way more pigmented and depending on the shade you select way more opaque. You do have to read your label though as they do have some transparent paint colors as well.
I do have a website and did sell some around Xmas time. Just been having to many health issues to keep up with my channel and the website so haven't had anything up for sale. When things calm down again I hope to put more up there as I get asked quite a bit and things are piling up around here lol. :)
Very beautiful, I had wonderful fun making it but with one small confusion... I don't have a compass like yours. Could you please explain what "set compass to 4" or "set compass to 5" might mean in inches?
If you set the compass to one it makes a two inch circle. I was saying make a two inch circle and people were setting the compass to two.. so I changed the way I said it to avoid confusion.
Sue, I love your videos! I learn so much and am improving my technique. What tool did you use here to do the fat swishes? It was a two-toned pink colored tool that you pulled the dot down to a point with and made the swish big on the second row of petals.
Hi Kathy that tool is a .05mm embossing tool made by Pergamano. They are rather hard to come by because almost always out of stock. Amazon does sell them and the company itself does on their site as well.
Here is where I ordered mine from they tend to have them in stock more so then the other places or else I just hit it lucky. But I just kept checking everywhere I could find they carried them until someone had them in stock. claritystamp.com/collections/embossing-tools

Its a 0.5 embossing tool by Pergamano. They do sell them on Amazon but I purchased mine off this site. Claritystamp.com They are very hard to find as always out of stock everywhere. I looked for a few months before I was able to find one. You just have to keep checking around and you'll eventually find one. You can find the 0.5 in other brands but usually not unless you buy them in a set. You just have to read the descriptions and search.
I don’t know what I am doing but I can’t get mine to look like yours, with the measurements at the beginning. I didn’t have a compass with built in measure, so was measuring the two points, two inches between points etc. the measurements were too small. So I got a compass with a built in measure, now the measurements are too large. Can you tell me what brand compass you are using?
Here is a link to the tools I use, it lists the compass on that page with a amazon link to it. But I do not think the compass is an issue. A lot of folks when first learning to dot are heavy handed. They tend to depress their tools more to try to get the perfect circle. So I've learned through the years to do this way when making my tutorials as people were having a hard time fitting the dots in. So I ALWAYS try to fully dip my tool into the paint and then depress it fully. This does make larger dots and they add up when your going around. This is probably why your having to much space because you have a light touch. Hope this helps you and that it makes sense to you. Sue. lovetocolor.com/pages/tools
@@janesteffens8054 thanks you are very kind. Let me know if you figure out the spacing issue. Another thing could be if your not putting your pencil in your compass the same. I line the pencil point up with the other end. If you don’t watch that and your pencil is expending out it will also increase the size. When you set your compass to 1 it should make a perfect 2 inch circle. It’s always double. 🥰
@@SueSloan hi Sue, I just got my new compass and did all the measurements, and everything worked out perfect. Thank you so much for helping me with my issue. You’re the best 😁❤️

Sue, this is one of the prettiest ones you’ve ever done. Great design and color combo.
I forgot to ask. Do you stop along the way and let things dry? I find I need to or I will inevitably drag my hand through the wet paint. :-)
Otra hermosura como lo que tu sabes hacer, pronto la voy a pintar yo también.
Saludos Sue y Dios te siga bendiciendo
