You might want a tarp to go under your tent to protect it 🙂

Few tips: Someone mentioned tarp for under tent - this is a must! Also take with you duct tape for repairs, rope for securing tent if storm, extra tent stakes, small camp axe for firewood, first aid kit, lighters, fly swatter, scissors, and firepit forks. For the kids take bubbles, glow bracelets/necklaces and card or games for in the tent play or if rain. Have a great time!

All the above are great, also Rosemary in your fire will repel mosquitoes, peppermint oil spray inside your tent and bedding will repel spiders. Headlamps are great for hands-free lighting. Take body wipes and a hand fan with a sprayer to keep you cool. Take a good pocket knife because there will always be things to cut/open/etc. A good first aid kit is a must with additional meds for pain, stomach, heartburn, bug bites, nausea, etc. Last, you will sweat a lot so take propel powder packs to add to your water. Getting sick from dehydration will ruin a vacation really quickly.

When my family used to camp on tents we used to put a tarp under our tent. It protects the floor of your tent from stones and wet grass etc. Also, we used to put a tarp over top of our tent from protection from rain. Even though our tents were water proof. Also when you guys return from camping before you store your tent away you should set it up and let it air out before storage.

Great camping chairs are a wonderful investment, we have 2 Coleman chairs we've had for 12 years and they go camping with us, beach trips, sporting events. Worth every penny.

Those are great flashlights. I think you are going to need a Uhaul to take everything. If you are having a campfire, telescoping forks are great for roasting marshmallows. We camp yearly in the PNW and you are speaking my language with the glamping vibes! We always book at the KOA which provides a lot of amenities on site but if that’s not an option where you’re at my suggestions are have lots of storage bins to keep things separate, easy to find and easy to store ie; cooking, food prep, cleaning, etc. Arctic Cove fans are amazing for hot dry days!!!! Having a mat outside the entrance to your tent is essential to ensuring dirt isn’t track into the tent and everyone can easily find their flip flops outside the door. Hand a lantern in the center of your tent to illuminate all the corners. Buy some chilly towels for hot days/hours. Do outdoor activities early in the day to beat the heat if water isn’t near by. Find a cheap clothes line to hang wet clothes and towels to air dry and get some food covers to put over food that’s sitting out. Waterprooof cards, dice, dominos are fun games. Hope you all have the best time and make camping a new tradition in your family!

    Hints for your trip:
    1) Have enough tarps to lay down as a ground cover for your tent to sit on. This will protect your tent floor from anything puncturing it.
    2) There are foam flooring tiles that fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. They are usually used on garage floors or on gym/work out floors.
They go on sale frequently at Big 5 sporting goods if that is in your area. I believe I've seen them at Costco as well. Everyone I've talked to that use them on their tent floor raves about them. Easy to pop out and clean if need be.
    3) Consider getting a sun sail to create shade if your area doesn't have any.
Again hoping you have a great time and take s'mores fixings for the kiddos 😊

Thermacell works better if you start it before mosquitoes come out in the evening to keep them away not get rid off them if it makes sense. Tarp under the tent is a must on gravel. Extra tarp with stakes and guide lines for the top unless you already tested your tent / canopy in heavy rain. Good rug for the entrance. Small broom. Line to hang towels, wet clothing. Plenty of garbage bags ( good to wrap extra messy stuff before leaving) . Large water jug with a spout makes refilling bottles and doing dishes easier right in your kitchen area.

I’m the same way with mosquitoes… highly allergic and they absolutely target me like crazy. I have heard that if you have type O blood or carry the type O gene, they will go after you more because they need a protein in type O blood to be able to lay eggs. Regardless, I have been to the ER twice from allergic reactions to getting attacked by mosquito swarms. I literally had welts covering my entire body. One of those times was from a beach camping trip, and yes, absolutely ruined my trip. Since then, I use all the mosquito spray and I love the Off fans. You put a little pad in them that you refill and they run on batteries, so I use one by my bed and even at home because in summer they come in the house when the family is in and out the door constantly. I keep one on or near me when I’m outside, too, but leave one running inside my tent so they don’t come in when I’m going in and out of my tent. One by the door, one by the bed, and one on me. 😂 Maybe that’s a little much, but I don’t get bit that way and it’s so much better than ending up in the ER getting steroid shots and super Benedryl. I’m a Glamper, too. Definitely not sorry. It’s better to bring too much and be comfy and prepared than to be miserable and not enjoy it. And yes, you’re right about the investment. Buy it once and if you get quality and take care of it, it will last you many more trips.

Girl I was the same way when I was den mother for my son's cub scouts. I had a double queen size air mattress, a generator, a portable toilet, lounge chairs, a screened house for me us to eat in and so much more. You might want to get a rug for under your tent so that the bottom of your tent is not wet from moisture. We camped at Yargo Park in Winder, Ga. My co-workers were like that is not real camping. I needed to be comfortable since I had to be around a bunch of 8 year old children. We had a good time. We did it for a few years and then upgraded to Yurts which was even better.

  • @whenlifechanges
    @whenlifechanges 3 года назад

We camp every year instead of going on a “hotel-trip”. It’s less expensive in the long run. My husband and I love being outdoors and the campground we go to most 9 times out of 10 is safe and clean. Outdoor church services weekly, disc golf, an arcade, basketball, volleyball, a pond for fishing, a short drive away from a river where we can tube and swim. And it’s just a 10-15 minute drive from town. Camping is expensive the first couple of trips, but once we got our system down, we camp for less than $500 for 7+ days with groceries and toiletries included. Camping is definitely the way to go!
Also! Get a tarp to go UNDER the tent to cut down on wear and tear on the tent floor! It’s a life saver!!!

This was so satisfying! When we camp everyone makes fun of me and my fans. I’m a sweater too, and can’t stand to sweat. I always have sweat on my forehead. Embarrassing and I hate it. Why be uncomfortable if u can have things to make your experience better!!! Bring a hammock! Not only can you use it at home or at the park you can use it to camp with!!! I also love my zero gravity chair and my rocking captains chair. Those two were the best investments. Especially since your doing moving night. You can get more comfortable with the zero gravity.

We have a trailer at a park here in Ontario Canada. We just love it been at the same site since 1999. We can pull it if we wan t to travel. This is our 3rd trailer but this one was brand new 2015 it has all the bells and whistles. My hubby built a two level deck huge yard with flower gardens. When our kids were small we did the camping thing which was great tons of memories. But I need my queen size bed running water tv in bedroom huge tv in the living room ya girl I can see you getting a rv. 🏕⛺️🇨🇦⛺️⛺️⛺️🏕🏕🏕

If it rains get those rugs up, a darker color would be better and old blankets would be good

Mosquitios love me also. Permethrin is a must. I pretreat all of our clothes. It stays treated for up to 6 washes. You many not want a portable toilet and privacy stall, but I think they are awesome also

One thing you have to remember when Sam club. They have edition runs in the build and the fan is circulating the cold air in the building. Just something to think about when you out camping. You will be circulating warm or hot air just a little FYI.

Hi Jia, allergy medicine is a must in your first aid kit, specially with kids. I learned that the hard way.

We live in a RV full time in the summer! I can’t wait to see your camping adventure.
I wouldn’t waste my money on the thermacell! I have horrible reactions to mosquito bites and the spray is the only thing that really works. I do have a Benadryl stick to apply as soon as I get bit and it seems to lessen the reaction.

I love this but I'm laughing! I'm so like you ... OVERPACKING...I can't wait for the blog and your husband's reaction. Umh you might as well bring a vacuum because with camping there is so much DIRT... everywhere.. dirt is everywhere... I can't wait for these vlogs.. also how are you packing all this stuff in your car?

I really enjoy glamping myself! Lol we are in Northern WV. we have a lot of forests and hills so trying to find a flat open spot it's hard sometimes. I hope you guys love it! Oh get a lot of glow sticks so the kids can wear them n you can see where they are at night. It helps trust me lol. We hang up string lights outside of our tent too so we can see where it is at night after going to the bathroom. Bikes are good to take also! We take a golf cart too! Also take a rug to wipe your feet off outside of the tent n a rug for your shoes (slip on sandals) and honestly I pack like you do and don't use half if it but I am the most prepared out of the bunch so everyone comes to me for supplies. Citronella candles/tiki torches with citronella work good for bugs lol can't wait to see your vlog of this glaming trip! 🏕🛶🚲🌠

This is such a great video! I was all about camping when I was younger, but have been hesitant to do it with kids. You've inspired me to at least haul out our camping gear and "practice" with a camp out in the backyard. Thank you! I love your videos.

The fan will also help keep the mosquitoes away outside of the tent. Down comforter will be too hot. Remember a small broom, dustpan, clothes line and clothes pins.

That blanket from Costco is the best! You can’t beat the price of it! Me and my husband are both hot sleepers and it keeps us pretty cool during the summer.

Y’all should consider a hammock. It’s one of my favorite things when I camp. I have an eno one that holds up to 400lbs. All you need to hang it is two trees close enough together.
