- July 30, 1963: Videotaping of "Episode Five" of "The Judy Garland Show" at CBS Television City, Stage 43, Hollywood.
Judy's guests for this episode were Tony Bennett and Dick Shawn.
Judy's songs: "If Love Were All" (cut before the broadcast but the footage still exists); "Yes, Indeed" (with Bennett and Shawn); "Garland-Bennett Medley" (including a duet on "I Left My Heart In San Francisco"); "My Buddy" (with Shawn); and in the "Born In A Trunk" segment: "Stormy Weather" preceded by her story about a moth flying into her mouth while on stage at the Greek Theater; and "I Will Come Back."
Judy also taped a chat with series regular Jerry Van Dyke before his duet with Shawn, but the chatting was cut. The "Tea For Two" segment taped the day before (July 29th) with Steve Allen was also deleted because it was such a success that it was decided to have him as an actual guest on a future episode and not just a cameo.
The show aired on December 15, 1963. - Развлечения
This man has sung professionally with both Judy Garland and Lady Gaga at age 95. A World War 2 veteran also. He is a legend and his death will be the end of an era.
And Sir David Attenborough, life is,has n will carry on till we all gone carnt wait for that! 😬😁🌻🐝🦋X
Well said!
Tony Bennett died on July 21, 2023, but I don't have to believe it if I don't want to. He left us with a phenomenal record catalog, so I listen every day. He is indeed a legend.
RIP Tony! 😢 Hope you & Judy have reunited and are singing up a storm together in paradise! ❤️🕊️
well said, though I'm very sad.
Love that thought 💜💜😘❤ I love Tony and Judy both so much 💕✨✨💙
Yes. It's sad when you think about how unfair it is when someone dies as young as Judy.
Well said ,Sir !
Judy was the best and so was Tony legends we'll never forget they left us a great legacy! RIP, Judy and Tony.
Amazing!! RIP Tony. RIP Judy. The likes of this talent will never be seen again.
Tony’s smile is worth a million bucks. Still a treasure.
Frank Sinatra was quoted as saying that Tony Bennett was the best singer he ever heard…
He also said Tony Bennett is the singer's singer..
I THINK HE SAID SOMETHING LIKE " FOR MY MONEY I'LL TAKE TONY BENNETT " HE WAS A BIG FAN
I can understand, Tony Bennett's voice is original.
Sinatra actually said that Tony Bennett had the best pipes I the business…… ……..I saw the clip--“pipes” is how Frank S talked………
Yes, Sinatra's favourite singer. And mine ❤
The ultimate singer of standards and jazz and a lovely man.
I'd love to meet him and have a talk and a song or two.
And maybe talk him out of one of his paintings!
He’s still performing even though he has Alzheimers! As soon as the music starts he remembers all the words. I saw a PBS show about him singing with Lady Gaga!
Imagine how much more Judy Garland would have managed to give to the world had she lived as long is this undoubtedly just as talented man! He was only four years younger than her. They made an amazing duo, legendary voices
We have lost an American Icon, not just a singer, 19 time Grammy Winner, but an artist, a Veteran, a Civil Rights Activist, and much more. My wife and I had the prevaledge to see and hear Tony Bennett two times. He was just great!
Tony has sung this song a million times, and it sounds fresh each and every time he does it!
Lovely. The way San Francisco use to feel captured in their voices and feelings.
I believe my Mom (born in San Francisco, as was her Mom and I) played this song on the record player at least a million times. She loved it!
true that!
And no one sang the song better than Tony!
Once upon a time there was a great country called America and it had wonderful talents like Tony Bennet and Judy Garland.
No auto tune, harmonisers, microphones attached to their voice box, special effects or amplifiers. Just raw talent, skill and utter perfection from two of the greats even 60 years on the quality can be heard. Sadly, the last era of ‘the big belters’ as Le Merm said. Odd few around but this era had them all.
We love you and miss you Anthony and Judy
💔
Quite simply wonderful 😊 RIP Tony and Judy ♥️☀️😔
RIP Judy Garland (June 10, 1922 - June 22, 1969), aged 47
And
RIP Tony Bennett (August 3, 1926 - July 21, 2023), aged 96
You both will be remembered as legends.
I'm not young at 55, but Tony Bennet is at least one or two generations before my time. Just watched him singing w/ Lady Gaga at 95 and decided to look up a young Bennett singing his biggest hit, at the top of his form. Gotta say... this was impressive. Guys like Bennett, Sinatra, Gene Kelly... they're not just for their time, they're for ALL time. Beautiful talent.
Wonderfully said. RIP Tony Bennett.
I'm 41. I remember taping Tony on to cassette from my parents record player when I was 8. ❤
He and Judy are together again, singing in the stars. Arrivederci, Tony 😢
When the saints go marching in..Rip Tony Bennett
I hope Tony lives forever.
Me too!! He’s amazing
In a way, he will live on in memory and all the recordings and movies
Nobody does, of course, but he's 94 and still going strong, check his latest lives (jun, aug2020) on his YT channel
Tony has had twice the lifespan of Judy
Me, too
Astonishing Tony - in his nineties, with a still healthy voice. Sad that Garland left us too soon. She can conjure up magic in a single phrase - listen to her croon the words, “Pacific shores.” A few wispy lyrics and you’re there at the Pacific shore.
Phrasing. Judy brings her nuance and acting talent to the song and that iconic voice. In the Carnegie Hall concert, I'll never tire of the four different phrasings she gives the word "baby" in I Can’t Give You Anything But Love, an arching narrative of tenderness.
Definitely
he still sounds so youthful
Now Tony and Judy will meet somewhere over the Rainbow 💝
Beautiful souls!! Judys 100 birthday and Tony’s 95
We will never see talent like this again ... Judy and Tony ..
I think Tony and Judy were quite smitten with one another, both as people and as artists. I think this was the only time they worked together, and he has spoken very fondly of her for years.
Can see clearly how he giggled. Like his heart wants to burst with joy😊I think he liked her.
Definitely wonderful chemistry.
When I think of 59’s-69’s New York this is what I picture
almost 60 years to the day. RIP Anthony Benedetto, thank you for decades of entertainment.
Garland wa taken by Tony’s wonderful voice but also by his obvious masculinity along with his sensitive loving heart. Tony saw that same heart in Garland and both felt a deep admiration for each other’s talent yes but for both seeing and feeling each other’s kind heart. They got each other without romance screwing things up out of respect for each other, respect Tony had for Garland.
A sad day... we lost another irreplaceable legend.
He is just like Judy in being able to not just sing, but feel a song.
I've heard this song a million times. Literally. My grandma's favorite song. And this is the first time I've heard it with Judy Garland doing accompaniment. Holy shit. Best version of this song ever. My goodness.
I wonder what was so funny that Judy and Tony couldn't stop laughing. Must have been hilarious. !!!
Where are Tony and Judy, Bing and Perry, Frank and Dean now, when we really need them.
Ilove this song ..i remember dancing to it the night we met my husband and i in july 1969.
They don't make them like that any more. What a golden era of talent. RIP Tony. ❤
That’s crazy. I thought he was gonna sound drastically different because of age naturally but no, he still sounds like this.
Rest in Heaven Legend 🙏🏻
The more i watch this Bennett fella, the more I think, he was a groovy kind of cat.
It doesn't get any better than this
R.I.P. Tony Bennett this song will always be one of your best songs I ever listened to 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I still get goosebumps when I hear him sing this song, I love this version, doesn’t Judy look beautiful.
Judy looks beautiful. Lovely duet.
Amazingly beautiful!!!
Judy is glowing, she always loved Tony . The last time they saw each other was in a club in Manhattan, tony sang a bit then had drinks with Judy. As Judy walked away she turned her body toward Tony and said “ Your a pretty good singer” the understatement off the evening as a complimentMel wanted for Ton. Mel torme who was musical arranger for this very show with tony was extremely jealous of Tony because Mel wanted the reputation for being best jazz singer
Judy had the voice of an angel
Ya can see the deep affection for each other. If it was today, they would pitch correct every thing. What a loss that would be.
So gorgeous. It makes me cry. Tony Judy and Liza has such beautiful souls. Never forgotten touched my soul. My mom and brothers loved them and we sang this song together 💗💗💗
I remember when this song came out. It was truly a monster hit at that time. Could not get enough of it. Still is that way.
I was lucky enough to see Tony Bennet live in concert twice. The first time in the late 60's in London, and then again in 2012 in Sydney.
Absolutely wonderful on both occasions.
I just loved watching this. Tony's voice is soooo smooth - he has you hanging on every note and your heart beating in your chest when he belts out the last verse. Judy and he sang together magnificently - a real affection and respect between them shone through.
Listening to this & thinking of you in heaven today, Mr. Bennett 💕 Getting to see your final performance of this song is a memory I will treasure forever. So grateful for these two beautiful angels…Once in a lifetime vocalists.
FOLKS-----THIS IS CLASS & MUSIC, THE LIKES OF WHICH WE WILL NEVER AGAIN SEE OR HEAR. RIP , TONY & JUDY. YOUR MUSIC IS FOREVER & EVER. --------------------MJL, 77 Y/O

I was blown away hearing Tony Bennett at 95 still belting it out. Amazing
Tony sings with best smile .
Ohhhh Tony!!!! U sang toghether with Judy, fortunate boy
Tony + Judy = perfection. Thanks for the upload. And of course Tony's solo is the original and by far most incredible version of this beautiful song. What a talent!
The nicest man in show business with a voice like crushed velvet.
Judy was so use to the camera lens that everything she done was so natural looking.. She was such a professional. Love you Judy.

What a handsome man and amazing voice. God bless you Tony!
Yes! I never realised he was so good looking, to be honest
@@lesley9989 He's probably one of the very few people in history who got better looking as he got older.
Hearing the two of them, I'm ready to board the plane to San Francisco. They were two of the all-time greats...
There is something about these two folks that i lovexxx
Judy's styling of a song, is a marvel.
Tony's not too bad either!
JUST BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL! THERE IS NO OTHER VOICE LIKE TONY BENNETT'S! GOD BLESS HIM!
R.I.P. Tony. and thank you for your beautiful music which will live on forever.
Tony RIP you are a American Icon, your music will live on, Always will be in our thoughts, God Bless You Tony..
Legendary rarity. Thank you for posting the gem.
Tony once said that there are some people whose passing change your life forever... and it certainly happened when Judy died... "I never had such fun again." referring to to this show and many many other occasions when they met at the parties.
Every singers dream was to share the stage with Garland.
Two great legends. What a treat!
What a duet! Judy & Tony at their top👍 those were the days!♥️
Absolutely Beautiful
This made me cry. So effortless with so much joy.
RIP....Thanks for the memories!

AHHHHHH.......the memories of watching this fantastic number as a kid. In the middle of winter at home, with a fire going in the fireplace. Safe, warm and loved. Compared to the HORRORS of every day life now as a 62 year old, TAKE ME BACK‼‼
I love that song it makes me of San Francisco of many years ago
Rest In Heavenly Peace Tony 🎶"I Left My Heart In San Francisco"🎶🎹📺🎥🎬🎤🎧 Another piece of my Childhood has passed away 🙏🏽✝️🥺😞💔🕊️🌹😭
