Look up on YT 25/6/4 Live at Tanglewood 1970 where Danny Seraphine is fumbling with drum kit while Terry starts the intro. One of great guitar performances of all time . Terry was an absolute monster on guitar and had a fine voice too. Too bad that after Terry’s untimely passing in Jan 1978 that Chicago lost direction under the tutelage of Peter Cetera and David Foster ( yuk) and got “ soft.” The post 1978 Chicago is mostly elevator music and sappy love songs. The 1970 Chicago absolutely rocked. Terry Kath was and is missed.
I was thinking the exact same thing. And he was lead singer on many memorable songs… Beginnings, Saturday in the Park, Does Anyone Really Know What Time It Is. When Chicago had the trio of singers, Lamm, Cetera, and the late, great Terry Kath, they were really blessed with talent.
