If you're in Michigan in the autumn, I would suggest that you go to a couple of cider mills. The bigger ones have hayrides, allow you to pick apples and/or pumpkins, and you can get fresh apple cider and warm cinnamon donuts as well as shop for related items in the attached store (including apples if you don't want to pick your own). Definitely a Michigan tradition, and a tasty one!

If you come to Michigan again, make sure to come around fall/autumn for all of the amazing cider mills! Cider mills usually have fresh, warm, spiced apple cider, with fresh warm cinnamon sugar donuts. Good cider mills can also be found at apple orchards, some having indoor stores with apple butter (to put on toast), many honey flavors, honey sticks for tea, handmade jam, fresh pastries, stacks of apples, and much more.
Fall is a great time for Michigan honestly. Many apple orchards have farm animals too, some just for watching and some for feeding and petting. Also, sunflower season ends around August to September, but sunflower fields are great as well! I haven't gone yet, but there are lavender fields here too!
I truly love the Botanical Gardens though, you just have to pay for parking, and there's just endless amounts of colorful flowers, along with many other gorgeous plants.
There's so much great food here though, Dearborn and Westland has lots of great Middle Eastern cuisine, as well as many great Mexican restaurants, including amazing markets for both. I've grown up in Michigan all my life, and there's truly so many experiences and cultures all around this one state.
I love your channel, as well as just learning about any culture I can- but it's quite nice to have people come to Michigan and enjoy it!
Have a great day wherever you two are :-D

There was a line down the center and you could open the box like shutters on a window, pour in your milk and sprinkle on your sugar and eat directly from the box. I don't have "A" favorite pie, but I've been making sweet potato pies since college days. No recipe needed -- it's like muscle memory. They are special. You can make one that tastes just like pumpkin pie, thanks to the spices, but since I do not use corn syrup the texture is not as slippery as many other sweet potato pies, and sturdier and less eggy than a pumpkin pie. But don't EVER force me to choose between the two!
Question: Sweet potato pie or pumpkin pie?

After WWII, aspiring businessmen could order a a full diner, which was delivered then assembled. They all had that cool, art deco look. Valentine Diner was one of the companies, and those who operated those diners put a percentage of each day's takings into a small lock box next to the front door. Periodically, Valentine would send around a guy with a key to collect the proceeds as payment towards the diner.

Get an RV. I have a travel Trailer and it is a great way to see the country (not exactly cheap) at a slow leisurely pace. But a RV can be a lot of work but they can be more comfortable than hotels. When you fly around you miss a lot of the country side. Plan ahead since at time getting in campgrounds can be a challenge. Plus, when you driving and you see a restaurant along the side of the road and it has lots of cars around it, usually a great place to stop. But a lot of people do not realize the US is quite large and distances on a map can be deceiving when driving

My daughter put her name in a lottery and she was chosen to be a student there. She spent ninth grade in classrooms in the museum.
