- Have YOU ever had a day where you catch fish on a lure that you've NEVER thrown before? That's exactly what happened in this video! I caught a good amount of fish on the new Berkley PowerBait MaxScent Flatnose Shad. This fluke style bait is an excellent way to fool picky bass into biting. It had a good action, scent, and hookup ratio!

As a combat vet fishing has really saved my life from the dark side of PTSD. LOVE IT
Glad you found that outlet brother. Appreciate your service. Keep on keeping on
I gear you brother as I am in the same boat and fishing and learning about it. God knows I need all the help I can get. These videos help alot.
Do you need someone to talk to? The VA has a toll free number you can use.
Thank you for your service! Our country wouldn’t be what it is without amazing men and women like yourself! 👊🏾
Remember fishusa and tackle warehouse have a veteran discount!
Throw around wood. Catch bass around wood. Hung up on wood with bass on. Walk on wood. Sink on wood. Boots full of water after sinking on wood. Great video Debo's. Everyone was laughing. Because they have done the same exact thing. Shawn.
Watched this last night and went out today and threw a Zoom Super Fluke. Caught a few dinks, but also landed a two and a quarter pounder!!! 😁😁🤟 Thanks for the tips Debo, they paid off for me! You da man!!!
The fluke is a very underrated bait. I really like the zoom fluke in Houdini and in baby bass. They make so many sizes and colors there is almost no situation where a fluke doesn’t work.
I can relate to the deceptive log soaker…took my 5 year old fishing for his first time ever this year, he snagged on a bush so I stepped on a log to untangle it. The log rolled and I ended up with two wet feet. Still a fun day but soggy feet are a bit miserable for a while.
Thanks for sharing those combo specs Debo, really helpful to hear you can get decent combos for reasonable prices.
I've got one better for the "I thought it was a fish." hookset. Squarebill just loaded up so I swept the rod back to really get him, bowed up fighting it all the way in head shakes and everything.... it was a huge bundle of line with hooks, weights and other lures
The Zoom fluke has been my hot ticket the last few weekends. Caught 10 yesterday at the local pond.
Yes i have caught a tree ponder. A time or two. Thats fishing. Great video Debo.
Fault a brush pile attached to the bottom of the lake with like 40 lb mono for about 5 min a couple weeks ago lol...everytime I reeled down it would pull back!
I’ve caught mostly dinks since fall hit up north here. I actually love catching dinks that are double the size of my square bills. Very ambitious fish and you have to admire the confidence in the smaller bass.
Awesome content I'm a big bank fisher learning lures and different techniques your videos help out alot. Thanks for doing a awesome job.
You can get a SLX combo from American legacy for around $100 if it’s your first time shopping there.
Crushed it on the fluke! Well done, sir! Keep that water out of the boots!
Another great catch Debo. You are kicking their hinnies.
Ohhh i miss fishing, i haven’t in the last 3 weeks and I am looking forward this weekend
I’ve caught many a tree pounder. It’s especially fun when fly fishing for trout in a river with fast current.
Glad to see someone fishing from the bank like most people watching do!
Another great one debo. Stay away from those rickety sticks!
I actually tried a soft jerk bait the other day while I was out but I don’t think I was anywhere close to using it correctly. Picked up some tips from the video though so we’ll give it another whirl. Always enjoy the uploads 🎣🎣🔥🔥
Fall time with the fluke!! Nice job and way to find some fish 👍🏼🎯
I caught my pb 9.2 on a pop max this last weekend in Texas, megabass topwaters are top tier
My fishing buddy swears by em. I’ve yet to get one
Just caught my first top water largey a few weeks ago on a Berkley popper in baby bass! Love it!
I’ve caught my fair share of bark bass. Hey, hook sets are free, Debo.
I'll have to try a weightless fluke on a baitcaster, didn't think it could be thrown effectively but you've shown me otherwise. I like the spearpoint hooks, you just have to know that when you rig it to stick the point icon the back side at a 45 degree angle so it sits right
Gotta love a good fall fluke bite, more fun than a barrel full of ladies with questionable morals. And yes, I have totally set the hook on enough tree bass in my day to truly despise the saying “hook sets are free”. No bro, they’re not, they can cost between $3-$15 a pop depending on if it’s a flippin’ jig or a jackhammer. Maybe if you have a sponsorship providing all your lures, otherwise they are most definitely not free. That mess adds up when your wrong about what’s bumpin’ that line. Anyway, that’s out of my system, good stuff as always. Thanks Deebs.
You’re my favorite RUclips fisher. Even when I’m watching other people’s videos, I’m thinking about yours. Lol
Few bags of flukes, small bottle of Mend-it, a small firebox style stove, stainless steel cup, and your in business, you can boil water right by the bank to straighten out kinked tails, and glue your chewed up flukes back into perfectly fishing shape, I think I have been using the same 2-3 bags of flukes for the last two years and have hundreds of fish on a weightless fluke, might be one of the most affordable ways to catch fish ever
Debo,. Find wood . Pitch to wood .. n ALWAYS TIE ON A FLU kE. !!! I always say fluke !!!!! Nice vid !!!😎😎
Great video Debo
My man! Happy to see that going to good use!! Enjoy
Dinkasaurus Wrecks back at it 🤓😂 Enjoyed the vid as always bro 👊
The Ocho and plopper 90 were the fish catchers today, broke in a Triumph I found for $26 at Academy. Academy sometimes has their combos %20 off if the Wally World is out.
Great Video my Friend and I actually snagged that Shimano Caius Reel for 33 bucks new on the EBay and absolutely Love that Reel and especially the sound when casting lol. I put 20 pound braid on it to try to cast lighter stuff and man it’s not working out lol I’m going back to Mono. Semper Fidelis
Yes Debo I had a heck of a time bringing in my stick fish. Thought it was my pb felt a bump and set the hook like a champ 😆🤣😂🎣🎣🏝
I don't throw flukes much either but you've inspired me to go tie one on!
Another great video. Love the music at the end 👍
Some of the hardest hits I've ever experienced have been on flukes. I use them a lot from now till spawn
I need to throw the fluke more, never know when that finesse bite will pick up! Good vid my dude.
I would enjoy a 1 rod challenge. Maybe the Max Z combo. I always tell people you don't need expensive gear to catch big fish. Some of my biggest are with the Black Max combo. Snook,Tarpon, peacock, and large mouth. As im typing you are talking about the gear.lol. Would still enjoy a 1 rod challenge from ya. 🎣🇺🇸🎣
Great viDebo! I've been looking at getting a medium combo, maybe BFS something because I throw mostly light tackle. Maybe the Caius is the answer.
You gotta be careful not to catch a cold with wet feet. Another awesome video
I’ve been using the powerbait flukes recently too! Been throwing them on a belly weighted underspin and they’ve been working well. I’ve been getting aggressive perch about the same size as that dink trying to eat those flukes too. 🤣
Looks like you had a great day out there. I really don't care how big the fish are as long as I'm catching them I'm pretty satisfied. Of course I would love to catch a monster but sometimes it's just catching them is the fun part.
Hey big game this weekend going against my nittany lions... We are PSU gunna be a hell of a game
I've hooked many sticks and I'm so happy to see you do it too 🙂
Been crushing them on a senko. Going to try the fluke next time I go out!
Yes several times myself. You should have weighed the "treelber" for Dizzle.
Realistic fishing with Debo.
I recommend the 6th sense flush soft plastic jerkbait, works great for me
Going to give the fluke a try now. Thanks for the video.
Absolutely have set the hook on a few tree pounders. Better to swing on a branch than not swing on a fish!... although getting snagged up is never fun.
Casey's breakfast pizza is the best 👌
My man! Let's get out soon! I'm free any time this week. Can't wait to head north for some trout. I'll let you try my tenkara rod!
Ive been rocking the fluke the past couple weeks too. 6th sense and zoom super fluke have been working for me this year
Love me some flukes!! This time of year I really, really love the fluke donkey rig!!!
Is that the double fluke rig? I’ve really been wanting to try it. Is the best way to rig it with 2 swivels?
I’ve never in my life seen someone catch so many fish standing in one spot. I think the most I’ve got in one spot is like 5 maybe. Place must be freakin stacked. You need to throw a square bill through that spot.
I've never used a fluke, but it's going on the list of things to try.
Definitely set the hook on a few monster branches & a few 6 pounders. 4lbs grass 2lbs feesh 😂 I like throwing the flukes. Those & spinner bait bite is definitely picking up for me. Love the vid! Go Hawks 👊
Some of my best hook sets have been on stick fish!
Yup for sure. Good video
I love a fluke in the fall. Another few weeks here in Florida and I’ll have it tied on.
I remember when I used to catch fish…like a month ago 😭
No "treepounders" for me this year, but i did catch me a "PB", no not a personal best..... a plastic bucket!
Enjoyed the video 👍🎣
I hope you had biscuits and gravy pizza for breakfast lol. Yup I’ve caught a couple of tree pounders lol
I've definitely swung on a few stick fish👍🤣
I had my first blow up on a popper yesterday, didn't get the hook set though
Oh the struggles of bank fishing lmao
Debo 🍸 coffee will slow down your metabolism
Great vid brother.
If I feel a thump I set the hook. Hook sets are free. So what if a set a jig into the side of a tree it could’ve been a 5 pounder. Don’t know till you swing on them.
It looks like an awesome fishing spot what pushed all that wood there beavers?
Do you use a sealer or put some type of coating on all your cork material? Jim @TJ81 has a video on how he does his cork.
That pop max is a great bait
I actually landed my pb tree pounder this past Sunday coming in at 4ft.
I haven't tried flukes in a long time. I may have to throw some in the tackle box next time I go out.
Haven't caught any stick bass lately but, my friend and I go out in my little Sun dolphin and when we get our lure caught in a tree she says we are squirrel hunting 🤣. I do pretty well on flukes!
nice combo for sure!
I’ve watched this video several times and this was the first time I noticed the “Debo Grundle Shot” getting a snagged Lure Lol…
Catching branches, that's keeping it realistic....
Oh wait wrong channel 😂
I got some action today on a baby bass colored zoom super fluke.
Can the Cheetos be jalapeno cheddar flavor? I'd rather eat those than 🦨 but seriously. Thanks for the video Debo. Appreciate you helping us become better bank anglers. ✌🏻🎣
Couldn’t even tell you how many sticks I’ve set the hook on, 3 the other day alone!
Great video, I’ve also definitely done the log roll before. Good to know I’m not the only chump doing it.
Maybe a stupid question but genuinely curious (especially since I had to go back and rewatch the first few minutes to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating); first combo is right hand retrieve, second combo is left handed… Debo, what dictates which hand you reel with? I’m right hand dominant, so I’m always reeling with my left hand with both spinning and casting reels.
I am the FEESHIN FRIEND!!! What!?!?!!!??!!! Day made.
Also flukes are my jam. Big on the 6th Sense Flush
Got some top water action on the whopper plooper and caught a few on a fluke this past weekend. And if anybody says they never set the hook in a tree pounder they lying. 🤣
I have used the fluke with mix results, today bites all came on a charduce spinner bait.
I was once fishing with my younger brother and we stayed up all night 😂 and at 4:00am he snags his lure and is trying to get it unstuck and then i hook into a “tree pounder” and im yelling at my brother “forget your lure grab the light!!” 🤣🤣🤣ended up catching a good 2.5lbs 30mins later 🎣🤘🏻
Interesting videos as always 😍✨
Now you've had it for a lil while how's that Shimano combo I've looked at it a dozen times but I'm thinking about picking it up for finesse stuff like flukes and stuff like that
Caught me a stick bass the other day put up a really good fight!
I tried some feeshing today and got skunked. I think I should have tried a different spot after an hour. The conditions here seemed very good for bass fishing but they just didn't want anything I tried.
Question: What type of line and lb test are you using on the fluke setup? Thanks for posting BTW.
Hey D, can u recommend a good video editor for a youtube beginner ? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you and tight lines
How’s it going Debo? Fellow Iowa fisherman and hawk fan. Where do you fish? It looks like around the CR region?
At5:18 i been there once I thought I caught a big bass but when I look it was just a tree pounder.
Awesome video
Debo why no braided line
Braid should be situational, it’s not ideal for everything, and for some things it’s straight up the wrong line to use. (Coming from a Florida guy)
Debo what kinda line did you put on your caius? I found 1 in the clearance aisle at walmart with a broken tip for 14$ lol. I put the reel on another rod of course but curious what you string yours with?
anyone who says they have not set the hook on a shrub is a true fisherman
