@@RoamingRadfords Love the Kon Tiki… we liked the 794 island bed… the luxurious feel and contemporary styling, however, we have also been looking at the Escape 694…. Spent this weekend researching and exploring several models! Watch this space! The factory helped our thinking too!
I love your channel and I’ve always had a swift motorhome for 12 years but I’ve just got a 6. 2 van two single beds aft and toilet kitchen mid and 4 seats as it’s just the two of us it’s plenty and we have one day camping and one day hotel: I fell less stress driving and parking and half the price ❤
Aww i feel for Lyndsey when she said her older sons will not be coming on the travels as much anymore, it hit me hard when my only son got to that age i felt lost etc, also loosing a parent , now both it is hard. But in time they do come around again when they start to have there own familys and you get Granchildren. I swear in my lifetime my best holiday has a child was touring down the East coast the summer of 76 in a VW camper van with a brother and sister, honestly best holiday of my life, abroad holidays did not have a patch on it. They come back around (kids) when they get there babies.
Great vlog. I'm having Monday film nights here in France with girlfriends. Meal delivered by a local restaurant, and watching The New Look on Apple TV. Excellent, the wartime story of Dior and Chanel excellent. Jo in France 🇫🇷
@@RoamingRadfords thank you lyndsey much appreciated imactually thought it could be but couldn’t see the label, have I seen you with a backpack too? Love the videos you two are real pros.
Hi Tim. They are the most amazing pillows we’ve ever had, we plan on mentioning them on the channel soon now we’ve tried them out. Give Steven a call at Caravan Beds and he’ll tell you what one we have and will be able to sell you them, but they’re not on their website I’m afraid. I believe their number is 01622 963973. caravanbeds.co.uk/
I went yesterday and I loved it! their production line is so interesting and it is amazing how much money they spend investing in the business and Martin was especially helpful. Did you have to pay for coffies there, I didn't? I almost ran out of power in my EV as I wasn't allowed to recharge there so I rolled into the doncaster north service station with 2miles on the clock 😬
Question. Would it be an option to ask Swift to convert your van to remove the bench seats to put in a double bed ? Just thinking of all the upgrades you have on this van making it yours.
If Swift could built-to-order I think they'd nail it. I like their quality but I've yet to see a perfect layout. I'm now watching 3 Body Problem as I really enjoyed the books.
It’s funny you should say that as we found out whilst we were up there last weekend, they only build to order. If they don’t have an order they won’t build the motorhome. They used to build and hold stock, but not anymore, every motorhome they build now already has an owner waiting for it.
I was sort of hoping they could customise. Like a lego design with bits you wanted and headroom over the bed, etc. I guess that's the realm of the self-build.@@RoamingRadfords
Swift 60th Anniversary OH MY I wonder if there are any Swift from back in the day around still being used!! As I’ve said in previous comments this motorhome living must be so popular to have the Swift factory place - it’s huge and that they look after their employees Also innovation and how to get a lot for your money as to live in a small space you have to get on as a couple, especially with your 3 boys who will come down to George and time goes so quickly It’s like couples living on these Dutch barges and similar He can then in time drive you around ❤️❤️🏴🏴😃😃😃😃👍 👍
I actually saw that they had some of their original caravans on display at their caravan owners open day this weekend! I would have loved to have seen them!
Great video! For new series to watch, I Love Lucy, The Andy Griffith Show, Burn Notice, or Suits. All great shows! Catch you guy's on the next one! 💜🩷💜🩷
Totally understand about gas getting harder to get. Was thinking of buying a safill bottle for you think it’s a good time to purchase it .. A friend say he thinks the bottom is about to fall out on the refillable tanks as like you say you struggle to get it at garages any more so he thinks the price will take a big drop for the bottles !! What’s your thoughts.
We think you’ll still be able to get gas, and the bottles won’t take a big drop. It’s just over a couple of hundred quid on eBay for a 10kg Safefill bottle and used ones sell on there for £175. Just go for it and if it doesn’t work out sell it on there for a little less than you paid for it.
When I vlog on my own in public intend to use my mobile phone. I also do short clips rather than a long ramble. That way people just think I am on the phone. I went to the Elddis Caravan factory a long time ago. It’s amazing how modern production lines have become so much more efficient. It’s good that Swift care for their workers with the nice facilities. Sue and I are out on our own next time too. It makes such a change to be just the two of us and we will be celebrating 40 years of vanning together. 😃👍🏻 Safe travels 🚐💙 Trev
Steve we store our motorhome in storage yard so no electric, could i run a diesel heater (I'd use it when i pop down to do some jobs etc) thanks another fab video thanks guys x
Absolutely Chrissey, just set the temperature you need, maybe 5 degrees, and it’ll kick in and out keep the van from freezing in the winter. We think they should be a standard fit to all motorhomes.
@RoamingRadfords awesome thanks I wasn't sure if they were powered by electric, yip why aren't they standard, cheaper than big Central heating system too. Thank you.x
@@RoamingRadfords yes we got the 884 kontiki so got the standard 2 solar panels & 2 batteries, should cope with that I think, thanks Steve I'll look for someone local who could fit a heater for us (not far from port talbot) and get a price. Thanks again Steve.

@@sammyb99 Thanks for the info, was just curious about the size of motor home that requires a different class rating. As Sammy said, it’s down to the weight of the Motorhome not the size. You need a C1 for over 3.5 tonnes, which you will have if you passed your test before Jan 1997, otherwise you need to take a test for it. In the US you can drive the huge RV we rented on a standard UK license.
