As of right now (beginning of March), this incredible story is still ongoing, so the end result will be as much of a surprise as it will be for me :). Daebon is absolutely amazing at writing very complex, deep stories with conflicted, interesting characters who use coping mechanisms that most of us would probably find 'problematic'. As you can tell from the themes in the video, the story deals with quite taboo subjects like murder and forbidden relationships. It starts with Jimin talking to a police officer Namjoon about a murder that happened on campus a few days ago - we don't know who did it or who the victim was. I am still amazed at how well Daebon is able to switch between character POVs and skip back an forth in time to provide us gradual revelations of the events leading up to the grand finale, including the (sometimes) disturbing histories of the main characters - Jimin, Yoongi and Hoseok. I was completely blown away by both the writing and the story itself and as it goes, couldn't help myself but try and make a trailer for it ;)). I found it fascinating and so refreshing that Lolita by Nabokov was used as an inspiration and is even directly quoted in the story. It's such an original approach to a fic with such taboo themes, almost like a character study. I honestly can't wait for the upcoming final chapters and to see IF I WAS RIGHT ;). Once again, both the writer and editor have done such amazing jobs. This trailer was absolutely breathtaking, and as someone who's read the book, I can tell you firsthand that it's scarily accurate, even though it was apparently made before the book was even finished. I also love how the lovely actress Kim Ok Bin was used as a face claim in the trailer, because she's absolutely perfect for the role of the character she was portrayed to play in the book.
The book itself was one of the best psychological thrillers I've ever read. The plotlines were so complex and intricate, and the plot twists smacked me in the face over and over again as they kept coming. It also brought attention to certain concerning topics such as abuse, pedophilia, grooming and homophobia, which makes you think of the victims in our world. Speaking of which, the main characters, the victims of this story, were also rather complex, with all their thoughts and emotions that constantly twisted between being moralistic and being selfish, and how they tried to cope with the situations that they were trapped in, never letting anyone know what was wrong for fear of what would happen to them if anyone found out just why and how they came to be in their current situations. The dynamics were also rather interesting, how one had power of the other, only to have another with power over them. And how can I not mention that it uses extracts from the novel Lolita, and that some plotlines are also based off the infamous classic?
All in all, this book was terrifyingly gorgeous, a wonderful read in my opinion, so long as you're not easily triggered or too narrow minded about some topics. I absolutely loved it, and would 10/10 recommend you read it (if you like these kind of books, that is), and that you also leave the author (Daebon) and editor (Sapphiamur) some lovely reviews. They really deserve it after all the hard work they put into their works.

as someone who read this fic, this trailer gave me chills at how spot on the details are im- this is fantastic. if you haven’t read this fic yet, i strongly recommend it and daebon’s other works, specifically heathen- their writing is so surreal, psychological- the stories are unlike anything i’ve ever read before.

Lost land is amazing ride over emotions. An impeccable mixture of all possible human feelings. You will be constantly shifting in between perspectives and the characters. One must have a strong heart and lots of patience to even absorb the story whereas digestimg it completely is another level. Highly recommended for psychological enthusiastics.

I saw this trailer yesterday night and ended up finishing the fan fic in the morning, and damn the story is so weird, you cant seem to put a finger on whats going on, its hell of a emotional rollercoaster, absolutely worth reading if you have a thing for dark, taboo and thriller.

I have been avoiding this fic for a long time but I give a shot yesterday night and I swear this story is mesmerizingly fucked up so beautifully written and it made me think about my life, especially when you somehow can relate with a specific character.
