- Welcome, welcome everyone, to another Stardew Valley video. I had so much fun ranking all of the festivals in 1.6, so it seemed only natural to do a ranking of all the farm layouts as well! Now this video is of course my subjective opinion, but the purpose is to help out newer or indecisive experienced farmers when creating a new farm. Which map is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below.

my absolute favourite is the 4 corners. no matter if its multiplayer or singleplayer: it has almost everything and it makes it easy to crate a tidy and structured farm. also an infinite hardwoodstump at the left upper corner.
Oh right I forgot about that hardwood supply!
Building a well on Riverland is certainly a choice
One of the choices ever made😂
ack! the beach farm is my favorite!!!! I love the unique challenges that come with it, and as a long time player, it really feels the best beside the standard... I'm sad it ranked low for you, but I love that about SV, that everyone has different favorites!
I am now playing my second playthrough. I got the Beach farm. It is very pretty but I was very disappointed that the supply crates are so rare. I thought that you would get at least one crate per day. That way it would be a perfect farm for the people who love mystery boxes.
I like the aesthetics of beach farm and i'm not a big fan of classic farming. Fish ponds look so pretty on sand!
lily from years ago " Beach farm is the best ! "
now "8th"
lol. XD
😂
All new players should start with the first standard map. however, my current favorite map is meadowland, I focus on animal produce and wow, I can easily make tons of money on meadowland. since blue grass are normally growing there.
I had an issue of where the blue grass would spawn though- in the later game after moving my barn and coop, I realized there are some areas that didn’t seem to spawn on their own.
I love 4 corners as a solo player. The crop field layout I use looks really nice on this farm. I can fit all the buildings neatly around the edges. I even have room for a small tapper farm. It's efficiant and pretty.
I started a Meadowlands Farm and I've leaned all the way into animals with the Coop Master skill. My animals become friendly so quickly because of the Blue Grass. my Main income is Mayo from the eggs and I don't even have a full Coop yet and I do pretty well for Cash.
I've been playing a long time so I get rich Year 2. Do not sleep on the Dehydrator either it's good for Mushrooms and Fruit that you can grow Mass quantities of. it works with stacks of 5
The Preserve Jars are better for Higher Value Fruits and Vege but they Take longer to Produce then the Dehydrator does.
Preserve Jars are better for low value crops. Preserve Jars add 50g to the value of any crop you put in them. So a 2g spring onion sells for 54g when you pickle it. The dehydrator benefits the most with crops that can't go in preserve jars. Or if you want to make raisins to power up your Junimo Hut.
My ranking
1. Standard (Best farm for crops and animals)
2. Forest (Hardwood and a ton of forage)
3. Four Corners
(big gap)
4. Riverland (was last in 1.5) (free fish smoker op)
5. Hill Top
6. Meadowlands
7. Beach
8. Wilderness
I wanted to post my ranking then I saw this post which is exactly how I would rank them! great choices 😄👍
0:40 Oh you kids and your sprinklers and your hula-hups and your walkmen.
Back in my day we didn't have those fancy SpRiNkLers, WE had to give gifts to Nature Sprites to get their heart to Lv. 3 (at least), so that they water, harvest or take care of animals.
They would work for 1, 3 or 7 days (after that they had to rest for a day) and we loved it.
deyum, uploading a vid while live streaming, someone's popping off
😂
I love your voice.
Aw thank you 💜
love
Getting combat xp from farm monsters is new to 1.6 i believe.
since i always play modded i love the IF2R farm from SVE, i just love decorating and with the hugee layout i dont have to optimize and can decorate while making lots of money:3
Personally I love Riverland, it was my first farm and I picked it because it was small and I love the water look. My least favorite is Standard and it's the only one I will never play because it's so big and plain which makes it overwhelming and very boring to me.
Yeah, standard is really boring, but I think that riverland is even worse, because building on there is kinda hard and moving trought your farm can be really hard when your farm is divided to little island. Also fishing in there isn't worth it, because you will get more and better fish if you just walk to fishing in somewhere else.
@@Guywithaname199 well yeah, that's why it's a personal thing. For me none of that was an issue. Building wasn't hard for me because I don't like having more than one coop and barn. I liked that I had to figure out how to place things on the limited space, it made it easier for me. Moving was fine because having to follow the paths was more fun to me than walking a long straight line and I hate fishing so, for me fishing wasn't worth it no matter the place lol.
I like Riverland,. I's for sure not the most effective, but the layout is great and unique. I also liked walking the paths most in this map and some of my most beautiful decorated farms are Riverland. It's so rewarding when you make a beautiful farm on this map, because it is a challenge placing buildings.
Beach farm remains my favorite. I don’t go that crazy with crops early on, so lack of sprinkler space isn’t a loss. I can wait until I unlock Ginger Island when I want to grow a bunch. Plus, I really like the overall layout. There’s an easy path to Cindersap Forest and I can try other money-making things like fishponds.
I do want to try Meadowlands one day, though.
I'm SO EARLY
Eeeeeeeee
Hope you enjoyed 💜
Forest Farm supremacy!! Currently on Beach Farm waiting for the 1.6 on mobile. It's been good so far. For most of the early game you mostly fish anyway. Also, I've always hated needing some ocean crabpots because I tend to forget about them. Not anymore!!
I've only started 4 farms. The Standard was my 1st choice and it was intimidating because of all the land. Then I briefly tried a Forrest farm to mess with tea saplings. I've got a Riverlands on hold for 1.6 dropping on Switch. Thr Riverlands was my attempt at learning to fish , which went well and now I think it might be a play ground till I can start a new 1 on 1.6. And I'm actively playing Hilltop on Switch and loving it. The plateau south of the farmhouse is great early game tappery. Having less land tells me where things go. I'm not loving having my coop right about where yours was this early in my game but that's where the grass was. Making progress on a farm for a change feels good even if I'm playing 2-4days at a time.
i've played on both the forest farm and the hilltop farm, and i've greatly enjoyed both! i don't think i could choose a favorite, as i like both a lot for very different reasons and don't really see one as "better" than the other. (though i will say, i think my hilltop farm is prettier than my forest farm, but my forest farm was my very first playthrough and i was still learning.)
i'm excited to try other farm layouts as well. i'm very tempted by the beach farm or the riverland farm for a salmence-esque "no farming" challenge. XD
My favorite is the beach farm. Second place is the 4 corners.
First! ❤❤❤
Yay!💜
what type of farm land can you recommend for a newbie like me:))
Beach farm is best farm. Your con for it has been irrelevant since 1.5.
Meadowlands waterfalls, watching ducks in the river
Forest farm, lovely green borders, hardwood and forage
Riverlands smoker and organization
4 corners, 🤷🏽♀️ I know it's great for many and good for multiplayer, I'm neutral really. I haven't played it yet. I don't feel like I'm missing out
Wilderness farm: this farm really needs something, since monsters became an option everywhere. The two glens have organizational potential. I feel bad it doesn't get more love, but I get it. I tend to only pick this for role play purposes.
Hill top, a river runs through it 😊 Can easily end up with pathing issues. Early quarry is not that helpful. Did 1.6 add any waterfalls? It'd go up in my estimation with some of those beauties.
Standard farm min max , 🥱, I can't recall if I played this first or not at all.
I don't like riverland. All the other layouts you can optimize but the water on riverland will never ever change. And that easy fishing money early on wears off right quick
