I grew up in this beautiful country. In the place called Manamaneng. It is near the district of Mokhotlong; but it falls under the district of Qacha'sNek. I was married at Ha Makoae in the same district of Qacha'sNek. And resided at Qacha's Nek Town.
I am originally from Quthing at the place called Seforong ha Tshepo.
This is where my ancestors were born. I stayed there for about 2 years with my grand parents before i went to Manamaneng.
I am very much fascinated to see this beautiful country again.
Please enjoy watching it with me.

This morning your musical drums really soothed an aching heart, thank you and I have subscribed to your channel.

We've just returned from a trip driving up the pass then across from Sani Top to Thaba-Tseka. The drive up was simple on 27 August 2024. Met a couple of landcruisers coming down. Took us about 48 minutes of careful driving going up. The road from Sani Top to Thaba-Tseka made the pass road feel like a gentle Sunday afternoon outing. Huge gradients for many kilometres, donkeys, cows and sheep and no other vehicles with engines. We felt very intrepid. Indeed we saw no other Europeans till we hit Malealea Lodge

    Hi guys
Did SANI long ago early 2010's .
Lot's of gravel experience under my belt .
Sumited in entry-level B10 in 2by happily. Beautiful experience.
Decent somewhat different. Nerve's active 'sphincter lockdown '.
4by and low ratios. Very nervous.
Worst experience was silly (stupid/inexperienced poeple) racing up pass with no consideration.
Thanks very much for the good video.
    Happy memories for my family

I’d suggest watching this at 75% speed. That’s a more natural and appropriate speed to be driving the pass.

Just did the pass. There is no way THIS speed can be maintained now.

Would a 4x2 be able to make the climb???

Hi Kevin, when it's dry sure, as long as it has some clearance. You might need to ride the clutch on the rocky sections though.

@@DRDOverland Ive followed a red Toyota Tazz (Lesotho Reg) up the pass. No Clutch riding. Just an experienced gravel road driver. I was in a Mahindra 4x2 Bolero

@@TomorrowFarm13 There's a video out there of a guy in a classic Rolls Royce ascending Sani Pass, pretty impressive. So it's do-able, I wouldn't want to do it in a 4x2 though, especially in the wet or worse the snow.

I did this journey from Buthe Buthe to the Sani Pass in July 1969 and into S.A. Was a journey of a lifetime. We were in a VW colour yellow, took us two days, pretty hairy.
