- Time to go Stage 3 on the MK7! But before that we needed to do a few things so I headed down to MRC Tuning. We installed a RTS Single Mass Flywheel and Paddle Clutch, along with testing the injectors.

Sorry for gap in uploads! But I have been filming 👌🏼 Look out for Part 2 in a few days time, will be installing the hybrid turbo and some fuelling upgrades!
no problem bro we got you homie
Can we have a video everyday 🤣 love the content, keep it up bro
750miles of driving around will do that to you 😂
Absolutely love these videos that get into more technical bits! Seeing the injector testing, simple as it is, was new to me and a nice bit of learning!
Can't wait to see the final results on this gti ✌️
Getting faster and cooler
This Car is is cooking up very nicely. Should yield some very good results when finished. Great short, sweet video 👌🏼
can't wait to see the results on the golf gti going to bee epic let's get it!!!!!
First, I've been waiting for a video on the gti🔥💪
I have an RTS Stage 2 Clutch on my Mk5 GTI which is Stage 2 + and it feels exactly the same as OEM, doesn’t kill your leg in traffic and feels very responsive. I kept my DMF tho as wasn’t sure about going to single mass.
This gti is a beast bro. Keep it up 👍🏽
I was just waiting for a new video here it is. Lots of surport from South Africa bro💪
Always been curious how a single mass flywheel would work out, been many years since I've had anything without a modern DMF setup. Looks good so far! 👌🏻
I always thought DMFs are only on diesels
@@ruisilva3317 I used to think that. They've been stuffing them in petrols for a long time!
@@ruisilva3317 precisely where they are better suited…the downsides of a single mass are more apparent on a diesel I understand….the smoother Nature of the petrol shouldn’t cause issues👍🏼
Having recently bought a Mk7 GTI the comment at 4:39 re: the noise of the injectors is reassuring…have definitely opened the bonnet and wondered if something was loose as the mechanic said 😂
Has been great to catch up with this series and find out more, love these additional explanations every time you take the car in somewhere.
Gti is definitely gonna be a beast when that turbo goes on bro
Can’t wait to see what power it’s pulling on stage 3
Love the GTI content👍🏼
Thank you 👌🏼
I’m excited fam, this is gonna be a machine. Mashallah
been waiting for a video for ages stright onit when i seen it :)
It's a good day When Hamza uploads
Love the update bro, stage 3 is going to be mega! It’s cool comparing this project to the Edition 30 and the high mile GTI and seeing the differences with each one.
Hopefully should be good once the turbo is on!
@@TRHamza yeah man especially with these winter temps 👀👌🏼 looking forward to it
Thanks for the update, been following with interest.
The guy knows his tech stuff..good vlog content as always picking up pointers thanks Hamza
Stage 3 it's going to be rapid 👀
Cool way to follow bead in procedure
Love this GTI content, top notch as always 💪🏼
Since you’ve done all of these mods to a high mile example, is the EA888 handling the extra pressure well?
4:30 that explains the ticking of my 2.0tfsi lol, first thought it was the chain/cam adjuster but those have been replaced a few weeks back
Fantastic video again Hamza, keep it up 👍🏻
Love the videos!!! North face needs to sponsor you ASAP!!!
GTI Content is the best content on your channel in my eyes, may be slightly biased because I own a stage 3 GTI also 😂
Great vid, this thing is gong to fly!
cant wait to get a mk7 middle of next year...insurance is only £900 at 20yr old
Buckets next hamza!
Awesome that you guys get the option for both port and direct injection on the MK7. I wonder if I could somehow retrofit this on my 2009 MK5 GTI with the first gen TSI motor that it has.
LETS GOOOOOOOOO
Watch out for that crank walk with an SMF. Be interesting to see how you get on with the RTS, have the twin friction in my cupra and it's been a nightmare
Been a lot of crank walk in the states witn smf 😅 i whould have stuck with the dmf and Sachs clutch
My rts clutch is driving me nuts, I have been carefully bedding it in for the last 600 miles or so, it will slip as soon as the car is under the slightest boost, not happy at all with it, so e people have said I should of fitted the golf R flywheel, I can't see what difference that would make, it will be coming out and going in the bin tbh.
Doesn't sound good. Just tried contacting RTS so will see what they say. So far they just sent a thumbs up to me
I plan on getting a GTI soon. Man, I cant wait. I originally wanted an R but its 30k here in Germany and that seems a bit too much for a daily driver for me. GTI is still fast and fun. It is unfortunately FWD but its perfect for a daily driver. It also must be fun on highway.
Mashallah brother
great detail bro
Some nice mods going in mate
Hamza upgrade the pcv valve and add a blow valve for boost
you were putting all that power down on a stock clutch? if you could reply i’d really appreciate it because my mk7 has everything for stage 2 but i’m terrified to put a tune in fear that my clutch will blow up, love the videos!!
Hamza got the chapati
Good luck with rts I've seen noting but bad things with them recently
Hamza my friend… where is the Volvo at?? Been looking for some content on the Volvo for 9 months!!!
How do you feel about the crankwalk situation with heavier clutches on those engines? Thats the only thing thats scaring me away from upgrading the clutch really.
Nice video
Wonder why America didn’t get the extra injectors
Can you put a list of all the mods you've put on the car to make it stage 3
Will do when it’s got the turbo etc fitted
In terms of drone, why not fit a catted downpipe? I think they reduce the drone alot compared to non catted and you dont loose much for it :)
Was contemplating a sports cat, will look into it
Love the vids bro! Aren’t you not supposed to downshift while breaking in the clutch? At least that’s what my south bend clutch’s break-in instructions said.
I have a Southbend stage 2 and it chatters like a diesel 😆.
Can You Install A Turbo To My BMW 320i F30, the turbo is on its way out 😢 and i spent all my money to buy the car 😂😭
Wow I'm surprised how well the carbon build was and injectors. Looks like vw has improved ea888. I havnt seen it with my own eyes yet haha. Not the same in my county tho =/ usa needs MPI 😪
Hi @trhamza - loving the content!
What’s the current costs including labour etc for the GTI? Currently daily a 6r DSG polo GTI however would love to purchase a high milage manual golf and build a track focused toy similar to yours!
I had an RTS clutch fitted to my S3 with stock dual mass and it was a horrible clutch for town driving and stop start. The biting point was really high, According to RTS this is normal. Also was very on off like a switch. Never slipped but anyone that drove it found it quite difficult to get the biting point right. After contacting RTS by phone about this I never heard back from them. I'm glad your set up is perfect for the car and your future mods. Enjoy.
That doesn’t sound like a rts clutch
I’m still indecisive as to if I want manual or dsg
KEEEN
I still dont know what the stages mean, stage 1? Stage 2? What upgrades does it include
Generally, Stage one is software only, and perhaps intake and intercooler, Stage two is software (different tune) plus intake, downpipe, exhaust, high pressure fuel pump, DSG transmission tune on DSG car, and intercooler, and Stage 3 is all the previous plus a bigger or hybrid turbo. Stage 2 or 3 power will also usually require either a clutch upgrade on a manual or a TSU software update on a DSG car. Horsepower gains vary.
Along with all of that it would be recommended to upgrade suspension, brakes, engine mounts, etc, but those are technically part of the Stages...
@@samgab You're almost there. Tuner here, Stage one is Software only (sometimes intake). Stage two is Software with more timing with downpipe, intercooler, intake. Stage 3 is Hybrid Turbo with HPFP (sometimes LPFP) and turbo outlet + inlet upgrade.
Should do collaboration with awesome
ayyyyy what's the next car gonna be?
How much kilometer did the dual mass flyweel run? i got 68000 km on the clutch and thinking about doing the same
What kinda front lip are you running?
Gear box will be scrap soon enough , if its designed with dual mass keep it dual mass
4:40 sounds like a golf 1.9 tdi
I remember when I put in my stage 2 clutch recently just over the summer there was a bunch of chatter, my gearbox actually got significantly more clunky and stuff as well. I went with a very good local shop so I somewhat trust their work since I can’t do it myself. Was just wondering what others might think that stiffer gearbox would be caused by?
If it’s smf, that’ll be the reason why
@@rh9224 switching to a single mass flywheel would cause a more clunky gearbox as well?
@@_DavidC as far as I’m aware, as the dual mass is what dampens feel and noise
All of us watching that has not had any of this work on our engines 😟
TR Hamza, thinking of going stage 1 on my 2015 mk6 gti manual, non PP. would you say that the stock clutches are weak and I would need a stronger one? Car has 57k miles and full service history
Mk7*
Hi 👋
after few thousand miles the engine will die probably 😂
Because of the clutch?
I thought I was first 😒
RTS clutches are wank, good luck
Had a bad experience with them?
Lots of people have, mines starting to turn to s**t after only 4k :(
I went for a helix and dmf in my R
