One of my favorite sunflowers are Procut Plum. It is a duel color sunflower with a creamy yellow/white outside and has a pink/plum ring around the middle. It is gorgeous.
So many great varieties! Have you tried Vincent’s fresh and Vincent’s choice? Supposed to be better with pests. You can also pick singles when the first two petals are lifting off the face of the disk and they’ll still open 😄 which helps huuugely with the pests. If you want to cram more in ( and get smaller blooms for bouquets) you can reduce to a 6 inch spacing - gotta love more sunflowers am I right? ❤
Your garden tours are such a treat and very informative! I wouldn’t say I’m much of a sunflower fan, mostly because the bugs and deer get to them before I can enjoy them, but I do try to let the volunteers from the bird feeder grow if they start. 😅

I wish I could grow more sunflowers, but I garden in a space smaller than your old back yard. I’ve been doing procut Plum and procut Gold Lite (which also has the green center). Also trying to grow some from Sunflower selections-Terracotta, Black Beauty, and Jolly Joker but they haven’t started blooming yet.
